Review of Urban Decay Smoked by NYCBeauty99
I don't think many people question the quality of UD shadows. Overall, they pick up very well on the brush and blend well. The question with this palette is, are the shades put together in a thoughtful manner? The answer is yes. With this palette, you get a lot of great shades that can be combined to create beautiful looks. Of course there are the basics brown, black, and grey to create traditional smoked looks. There is also a green, blue, and purple shades to create a variety of looks. Let's be honest, most people don't wear a smoky eye all the time. However, this palette is versatile enough to create many different looks for both day and night. I love using the darker shades as liners.
I do have 2 complaints. The first complaint is that there is a bit too much shimmer . I personally think that they should have done one more matte shade. My second complaint is that I usually end up finding myself going outside of the palette for complete looks. To me, this isn't quite as versatile as the Naked Palette. With Naked, I can create many looks without needed to go outside the palette.
Still, I want to emphasize that this is a great palette and well worth the money. Lastly, I really like the liner pencil that it comes with. It's also nice that they included a pretty generous sized primer. Since a little goes a long way, I would think that it will last a while (I've been using the full sized primer for a year and it's still not finished).
