While in Sephora, I was debating picking up another MUF HD foundation (which I have a love-hate relationship with), and the Kat Von D lock it foundation was right next to it. It first caught my eye because of the sleek container. It's in a glossy container with a silver/black design on it and a unique silver button like pump. I swatched the two foundations in my shade, and the Kat Von D immediately impressed me. The MUF is quite runny (the oils seperating from the pigments and staying on the top of your skin like an oil slick) even if you shake it a bit. Where the Kat Von D was a great creamy consistency. Once I blended it out, I noticed despite its thick texture, it still blended out like a liquid foundation would. There are a great selection of shades (especially in the medium range, where there are multiple shades containing different undertones). It's also definitely a fair price of $34. I chose it over the MUF HD and used it the following morning. It applied like a DREAM with a slightly damp beauty blender (dry sponges, or brushes, make it a tad more difficult to blend evenly, as it is moderately thick). It's definitely a full coverage foundation, virtually erasing any discolorations and leaving you with a perfect complexion. The finish has a matte feeling, yet still has some luminosity. It literally leaves your face feeling soft, and gives you a noticeable glow. For a thick foundation, it has a very natural feel & look to it. Once I set it with a translucent powder, applied my contour and blush, I left for my full work day. When I came home, there wasn't any separation on my nose which tends to happen, and my t-zone was still matte *no touch ups through the day*. Overall, it's a great foundation that sticks to what it claims; it is full coverage, it is long wearing, it does create a perfect canvas! I will reccomend it, and I will definitely be repurchasing.
