Review of Lancome Hypnose Star by jccmz
Like others who love this mascara, I'm really surprised by some of the negative reviews. The brush is FANTASTIC. Yes, after three tries, I learned that you use the flat side first to place on lashes, then you use the long bristles to fan & flare out the lashes. I've never had mascara go on like this on my sparse, stick-straight, pointing-down lashes (yes,"Asian lashes") and make my lashes look long and full!
I will say that I layer mascara products, meaning first primer, then the Lancome Hypnose Star. I could stop right there because I love how it looks but I'm a little worried about smudging so if I'm going out, I'll add a layer of tubing (Clinique Lash Power) mascara -- usually this is too much so I'll have to brush out & separate with a spoolie. But I'm left with great, long, defined & voluminated lashes that is holding the eye lash curler curl. Wow.
Notes: When I first opened the tube, it was too wet and it didn't hold the curl of my lashes, but now the mascara does so and the lashes look fabulous. I got it as a Sephora 100pt perk, so I could toss it if I don't like it, but I'm really impressed with the wand/brush. And I never even noticed the rose-y smell, until I read the other reviews from people. I have extremely sensitive eyes and the scent never bothered me and, you know what, once the mascara is dry, which is like in 20 seconds, you won't smell anything -- that is, if you even noticed in the first place. Geez.
