Review of Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Charm by mjbono
These balm stains are very similar to the Tarte LipSurgence lip tints and the Clinique Chubby sticks. But they don't really live up to them. The Tarte & Clinique ones significantly more expensive than these, but you get what you pay for.
This particular shade is a pretty pale peach. I have very pigmented lips, so the color of these balm stains do not transfer well onto my lips. This shade is very light, and when I first put it on, it looks light, but a while later, my lips turn to a bright peachy/coral instead of pale peachy/coral. I find these stains interesting because they do change the color of your lips, but to a color you wouldn't expect (it doesn't seem similar to the color in the tube at all). I have had similar experiences with the other 3 colors that I own. (Honey, Precious and Rendezvous) I also find that these are not as moisturizing as I had hoped. They're actually quite drying. I do like the packaging because you don't have to sharpen it, you can just twist it up.
Overall, I like the idea of this product from Revlon. I like that they came out with a better, more practical version of the previous stain + balm. The old one wasn't designed very well, the balm broke off easily then you were just left with the stain. So I really like that they put the balm & stain in one. I just wish it was more moisturizing and that the color was more true. I'm not really sure if I will purchase these again, I think there are just better products out there.
If you want to try these out, they are on sale 40% off at Rite Aid this week as well as all other Revlon products. It doesn't say so on the display, but it showed up on my receipt. So instead of paying $8.99, you only pay $5.39. This is really a great deal and I definitely recommend picking a few of these up at such a great price. You can always return them if you don't like them! ;)
