I love this powder! It really is silky smooth, and it's not crazy powdery like most powder foundations. I love pairing this with MAC's Pro Longwear foundation, I'm an NC 15 (the prolong wear runs a little dark, so I'm normally an NC20) but I feel like the Shade 02 (nude, I believe) is too dark for my skin and really makes me look darker. For some reason it looks perfect when I use it over my Revlon ColorStay in 150 Buff, but when I use it with my MAC foundation it completely changes the color, so I'm going to Ulta after this to exchange it for the lightest shade. I love how NYX has YELLOW toned powders. I have yellow undertones so it's practically impossible to find the lighter/lightest shades WITHOUT pink undertones, which looks terrible for me. From what I've read the lightest shade has yellow/neutral undertones and I'm very pleased about it. If you don't have yellow undertones, and you have pink undertones there are tons of other drugstore foundations that are your color, so don't worry. Anyways! This is like velvet, I can see if you apply too much or over a thick foundation how this could look cakey - but my MAC Pro Longwear is very matte and very thin in consistency, and has GREAT coverage so I really don't need to use a lot of powder, but I do like adding a touch of more coverage just for that flawless face. This is very comparable to MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation(27.00$) - and a fraction of the price. 9.99$. This doesn't cover as well and I can't say that I'd use it alone, but over a concealer for the rushed days this would look nice and fresh. I really love using this with my Elf Flattop Studio Brush for maximum coverage and an even application, and then dipping my elf Kabuki in it and buffing my face and it really smooths everything out and looks so flawless. I will post a link to a picture of me wearing this powder over my MAC foundation, and you'll see how this looks flawless but not too powdery. Also, another tip for this powder is to use some kind of finishing spray or setting spray - it really makes it look natural and takes away any extra powder left behind. This is my new favorite drug store powder. It stays pretty matte - it's not as longlasting as my Milani but in my opinion it looks less powdery and when I wear it with MAC's Pro Longwear it lasts 15 hours at least.
