Review of NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Powder Foundation by Miaoudeminou
I bought this compact at Ulta. Each shade of the powder had it's own "tester" in front of it. The tester's powder felt finer and seemed more luminous. I also sat inside Ulta for over a half hour testing out the shades & had a difficult time trying to find the right one for me. I bought my shade in Nude and that is even too dark for me. The next color up Natural (?) and Ivory were too light & pink. At least that's what the swatch of the tester lead me to believe. I had issues matching myself and wish there were more colors to this line. I adore the powder though. It's still finely milled, compared to drugstore compact foundations, and gives a luminous glow. Thus making it look more like your skin and not a flat powdery look. I never had issues with this caking unless I really packed it on. The coverage is on the lighter side which is why I put a "no" for repurchasing. As for the packaging I put a 3 because it seems tiny. You get .26oz or 7.5g where as my normal powder I use has .37oz or 10.5g. Not too bad but I'm paying more for less...what? If this powder had a bit more in the packaging, had more coverage, and I could find a color that matched. Then that powder would be a HG powder. For the mean time this just isn't a HG. I could see it working for those who don't need much coverage but still want their powder to look like their skin. This does that at least.
