Review of Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Fdt. by luxlover79
I was excited to try this foundation when I seen it on Smashbox website. I'm a fan of Revlon Colorstay coz I hate makeup sliding off my face quickly after all my efforts putting it on my face. This is named Studio Skin and claims to stay on for 15 hours...it sounded like the perfect makeup that stays for hours and looks great on pictures. I went to the store and sampled it at the back of my hand and I noticed right away that it sits on the lines of my skin, unlike the Healthy FX which blends & disappears to adapt to my skin. I have oily skin but also doesn't like makeup looking dry, so I thought that day that I would pass on buying Studio Skin. I wanted to sleep over it and read reviews before spending on its steep price. I can't ignore the good reviews! I went back to the store and bought a bottle. When I tried it over Smashbox primer, it worked perfect! It doesn't dry fast and gives me time to blend using my stippling brush. I have not tried using my fingers to apply this, but my stippling brush applies it perfectly when I do circular strokes (instead of stippling). Surprisingly, I didn't need concealer over this. I don't have zits to cover up, but I do have dark circles and uneveness around the nose/lips and red veins appear on my lower cheeks, and Studio Skin pretty much covered it all without a second layering. I also love the semi-matte finish, I didn't have to powder too much to set it. This is the only makeup I used so far that didn't looked shiny without the powdering. I haven't worn makeup for straight 15 hours, so I can't tell much about its longevity claim. I'd worn it for 8 hours (blotting my t-zone a couple of times) and it was still stay-put. It works great if u moisturize (specially for dry skin) and use primer. I'm impressed with this product and it's worth the money! I'll have to test this on active days and see how it stays with the sweat and will update.
