Review of Desert Essence Jojoba Oil - 100% pure by Sophia1105
This has been in some face cleansers and skin oils blends so I figured I give it a shot.
+sinks in quickly and (provided you don't over do it) doesn't leave an oily feel
+probably better suited for normal-oily types, I can understand how this would be a normalizing oil, it feels drier and didn't give be that thicker, heavier oil feel that I am used to
+sunk in better than my straight grapeseed oil (which is supposedly an astringent oil) and felt way less greasy
+definitely blended inwith my own oils and helps to think them out some
-packaging is lousy
-might not be enough moisture for some, I have been using John Masters Organics Pomegranite Oil as well as whole foods peter rabbit pumpkin and carrot baby oil (love that blend for the face!) and both seem to offer a bit more moisture and protection. I patted a few drops on and then had to reapply a thicker amount about 10 minutes later as my skin felt dry and like this didn't give enough moisture
Not a pro or con per se, but I seem to benefit more from the oil blends than the oil individually. The oil blends cover all my bases. I might try to add a few drops to some cleansers as well as to some premade oil blends. Jojoba would be great for someone normal - oily but for my combo-dry- rebounding- with- oil on forehead & nose + dry with no oil on cheeks skin it requires a few layers. That said, it's one of the few oils I can slather all over my forehead and nose and they finally don't feel tight or dry and then counteract with rebound oiliness. Simply for the fact that I can use this on my forehead and nose and *fingers crossed* have finally found an oil I will be able to use in the heat of summer in a heaver application, I am very happy to have found this.
Edit: Bumping down to a four. It was too dry for my skin, I had to layer it on and then it just felt too heavy. I prefer a more moisturizing oil, it actually prevents my skin from getting oilier as this did not. Oddly enough, this made me break out on my forehead, largely because I had to pile so much on to get a moisturized feel I'm used to from my John Masters Organics Pomegranite Oil, and then in turn my forehead broke out from just too much stuff. I do better with a smaller amount of a more potent oil than a larger amount of a drier oil. Was too dry to use on my cheeks. I will wait until summer to retry, hopefully better results then when I require a lighter oil.
