Review of Lime Crime Airborne Unicorn by LPomona
If you're familiar with Lavender Whip, and like it, you'll likely like this gem as well. Unicorn is a tad deeper/darker, and is a more *vibrant* purple than Lavender Whip. I love L.W., but compared to Unicorn, L.W. is much more subdued, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Some have said Lime Crime lipsticks are drying. I disagree. Unicorn is not a moisturizing lipstick, but to me the formula is virually identical to Lavendar Whip; not drying & not moisturizing. It's a satin creme, so it's almost matte, but not quite. You can shine it up with a touch of gloss under or over it.
I gave it a test-drive at SpaceNK (with their tester) and walked around the Chestnut Hill mall for an hour. In that hour, two different women stopped to comment on my lipstick & how fabulous it was. That never happens to me, so I returned to SpaceNK & bought it. It is very complementary to my coloring (NC20 - yellowish, with platinum hair). The next day I tried my own tube, and even though I still love the look - daring and confident - I decided that I already have too many lavender & lavender-pink lipsticks, so I'm swapping it. It was an impulse purchase that I should've given more thought to. Love the shade though - if you can pull it off, it's a must-have ♥
