Review of TRESemme Color Revitalize by susjs
I received the TRESemme Color Revitalize Shampoo & Conditioner as part of a Bzz Campaign trial but I was very happy to try these as I currently use and like many TRESemme products; including their Heat Tamer Spray; 24-Hour Body Foaming Mousse; Tres Two Spray; and Naturals Silicone Free Conditioner in Nourishing Moisture. My hair type: partially highlighted, thin, fine, generally healthy. I plan to review these together and post the same review under both the shampoo + conditioner so MUA'ers can read and consider both together.
I've used these products for almost a month; and am happy to say that for my hair type; they're yet another great, value-for-money product from TRESemme. I'll start with the shampoo: what I noticed immediately and don't like is the strong scent; an artificial fruity-sweetness. Thankfully it doesn't remain on my hair after rinsing. This is not a conditioning shampoo--while it's good for me with my fine hair that doesn't like to be weighed down; I think it'd also be ideal for someone with normal to oily hair but not for anyone with typically dry, chemically treated hair. [Note: this is not sulfate-free.] My highlights aren't fading and to the extent that a shampoo is gentle for colour-treated hair; this one fits that bill--although it's water that's the enemy to colour-treated hair, so every time you shampoo with anything you risk losing colour. The revitalize conditioner is thankfully not as heavily scented as the shampoo; and works well to add moisture back in my hair without weighing it down. It also rinses easily and doesn't feel like it's coating my hair; it's good for my hair type. I think I still prefer my TRESemme Naturals Silicone-Free Nourishing Moisture; although the first several ingredients in these conditioners are identical and silicones are a good thing for most hair types; for my baby-fine hair I'd just as soon skip 'em. One last feature worth noting; the packaging states these are a "new size"--at 15 fl oz each with a flip-top cap; they're much easier to store and use in the shower than the typical ginormous 25 oz size TRESemme came in before this.
