Review of Clinique Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15 by lalalie_xoxo
I bought this over the weekend and I used it for the first time today. I got this in the second shade, neutral fair, I believe is the name. I have to admit that when I first put this on, it didn't seem like the powder was settling into my skin at all! I was even using the powder brush from Clinique with this product! So I was really afraid for a while whether I was going to look like I just dipped my face in flour--I was already starting to convince myself to return the product!
BUT! I noticed that the powder did eventually settle into my skin leaving me with a great sheer matte finish that allowed my natural skin's youth to come through but still gave me enough coverage to even out my skin tone. I noticed by the time I had gotten to work, you couldn't tell that I was wearing powder anymore! In fact my co-workers wanted to know if I had done something different to my face! Now I just wish that they could make a smaller travel size of the powder brush that I can take with me to touch up while I'm at work! Not that I really needed to touch anything up, but you know, just in case something happened ;)
So after using this product for five days, I decided that it was best to just get my money back. I found that this product was very drying to my skin and as every day went by I had to use more and more of my moisturizer to make my skin look dewy. I'm twenty years young and this product made my skin look much older and dryer! I was so pleased with the way the colour had matched my skin so nicely but in the end it was better to part with this product.
Thus, I've reduced my rating to 3 lippies (I wanted to give it a 2.5 but I decided to round up) because even though I really wanted to like this product (it has SPF, colour was great, lasted ALL DAY with no touch ups) it didn't work out for my skin type. Perhaps people with oilier and/or combination skin or those who live in more humid climates might like this product better.
