For a long time, I just kept visiting the display of this in-store, loving the strips of white, gold and bronze. Having a number of highlighters in my stash, however, most of which go used for a few days until they're stored away almost permanently, I didn't want to pay over $50 for a beauty that would almost definitely suffer the same fate.
But one day I took the plunge. And as soon as I got home immediately reached for my MAC 109, that trusty little dome headed brush I love, and dusted this on. I looked at my face in the bathroom mirror and was crestfallen. It didn't appear to do anything. Where was the amber diamond glow?
The next morning, after completing my makeup routine, I thought, let's try that again. And once again, in the less-than-great bathroom lighting, I saw nothing. But in my car, when I flipped down the visor to make sure everything was in place in natural light, I saw what makes reviews for this so great.
It's not obvious, but there's something. Something about the skin that looks luminous and bright and soft. Something pretty and ethereal, a gentle cast of light where the highlighter was applied. And yet it's not shimmer. Just glow.
Needless to say, I'm hooked. All other highlighters can come out of hiding and off to swap or be given away. This is the one.
