I've only been using this for about two weeks, so I have not seen any length results yet. However, it has made my hair so soft and silky! My hair tends to be very oily, but using this gives me shiny hair, and doesn't look greasy at all. I feel like it is a bit drying at times, so I switch around shampoos. From other reviews, the shampoo either dries out or makes hair oily. Overall, the smell is really good, it makes my hair look soft and shiny, and I am really looking forward to trying the conditioner!
I paid $30 for this shampoo and I was expecting it to be amazing since I'd seen so many great reviews on it! when I first washed my hair using it , it felt amazing and my hair dried perfect naturally . However, I noticed how quickly my hair got oily. This is a love hate product, love the way it makes my hair look and feel but hate the lasting power and oiliness. The smell is like strawberries and cream, it's so nice and it lathers up well (:
If you have dry hair this shampoo be your best friend, if you oily hair I'd stay away from it ..
I LOVE IT. I was hearing so much from this brand so I tried it out. I was using a suave shampoo and conditioner and it made my hair all dry and frizzy . BUT THEN WHEN I TRYED THE WAY TO GROW SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER it made my hair very smooth and moisturizers with a whittle Bit of volume
I've had a pixie cut for six years now, and I thought it was about time to give long hair a go, but I was impatient so I got this stuff. Firstly, let me say it smells AMAZING. I walk around asking my friends to smell my hair, haha. It smells like candy and strawberries!
One thing I noticed when I used this product was that I had a lot of hair fall out when I was in the shower. Now, it freaked me out at first, but I'm fairly knowledgeable on the science of hair, and let me tell you... it may actually be a good thing. Hair goes through cycles, and each follicle only has a set amount of time to produce more hair and grow before it falls out on its own. Once it's fallen out, a new hair comes in to take its place. If your hair starts falling out (so long as it isn't a massive amount), look at the ends. If you see a white bulb, that means the follicle just reached the end of its time and came out like it should have. More on this later!
I can't say my hair is particularly moisturized while using the shampoo and conditioner, however it isn't dry and brittle. It feels soft to the touch and is shiny, although it's hard to tell when my layers are so close together. As far as how it makes my hair look and feel, it's an "eh" kind of thing. It gives me lots of body but doesn't guard against frizz or make my hair look incredibly lustrous.
As far as hair growth, this is where the product redeems itself. I've been using it for a week and have noticed a big difference in my hair length. My hair grows faster than usual to begin with (one inch per month at the LEAST), but this stuff really made it grow. This is why I wasn't too worried about the initial hair fallout, it was all natural (had the bulb on one end), and was due to new hair coming in faster. So as long as you aren't shedding giant clumps of hair, don't worry about it, it subsides after a week or so :)
While I'm not thrilled with how well it moisturizes, it does make my hair look decent enough, and my hair may just look not so great because it's been so humid where I am lately, who knows? Overall the five stars (or should I call them lipsticks..?) are for how well it makes my hair grow.
I LOVE this shampoo and the conditioner! It smells sort of like candy, and it definitely mends my split ends a little and it helps my hair grow faster. I definitely see my hair growing quicker and I will repurchase for sure! :)
I know almost everyone rates this product as a miracle, and that's why I bought it, but frankly it's one of the worst I've used. With one use it made my hair dry and brittle - I don't care how moisturizing it says it is. It also made my scalp oily within a day, something that I'm prone to but have been gradually working away from. This shampoo ruined all those efforts with one use. The smell also was artificial and way too sweet - it made my head hurt. If your hair is thin, straight, sleek, and generally responds well to Aveeno or Herbal Essences products, as well as badly to Aveda products, this probably isn't the shampoo for you.
I bought this last week. So far it has been nice. Not the worst or best shampoo I have ever used (I am using it with the matching conditioner). I haven't been using it long enough to tell if it's really making my hair grow, but it hasn't caused my hair to tangle. The conditioner is not particularly moisturizing. The price wasn't too bad (It's $5.99 at Ulta).
As far as repurchasing, since I wasn't blown away by this, I will probably switch when I run out. I am not particularly loyal when it comes to hair products.
I started using this shampoo two months ago, and my hair has grown out longer because of it. I have tried all kinds of different vitamins and supplements over the past year to try to help speed up my hair growth. I even tried this other, more expensive biotin shampoo (which is basically what this NYM shampoo is) and nothing has really given me results that are worth writing home about.
So I bought a tube of NYM's Way to Grow Long & Strong about two months ago and incorporated it into my routine. I use it about 1-2x a week and I do not use it by itself because it is not moisturizing at all. And my hair needs moisture. So I shampoo with the NYM, follow with a moisturizing shampoo, then a nice moisturizing conditioner.
Two months later, people who I haven't seen in a while are giving me tons of compliments about how long my hair is getting. Out of nowhere I'm finally getting noticeable results. This is the only thing I've been doing differently. I am convinced this shampoo is what's doing it. Even if I'm wrong it's not expensive, and I'm still on my first tube after 2 months of use. Will definitely buy again.
I bought this shampoo along with the corresponding conditioner a few days ago. I had high hopes but after working it through my hair in the shower, my hair felt super knotted and not smooth at all. The conditioner made my hair OK but it still was not as soft as it is when I use other products. The smell reminds me of an apple cinnamon body wash, which i'm not too fond of.
Ok so I've been using the NYM Way to Grow shampoo and conditioner and I really REALLY wanted to like it after reading so many positive reviews and having it recommended to me by a friend. But when I first used it about a month+ ago I experienced quite a bit of fallout. I thought it was just my hair getting used to it for the first couple of washes so I kept using it. I have used it with many different qualities of water and keep having terrible fallout, so I know it isn't the water. I've also switched to another shampoo and conditioner for a period of time and had zero fall out. But today I tried the NYM again and I had so much hair come out in the shower I'm sad to say that it was the last straw for me. I don't know what chemicals are in this that are causing it (since it is supposed to be sulfate free) but whatever it is I highly recommend removing it from the formula. I like their other products but this one is a total bust for me. Won't be using it anymore. _______________________________________________--Price- a little on the expensive side, it's about 5 bucks a bottle in MI and the bottles don't last very long. Went on a week & 1/2 long trip with my mom and shared it and by the time we got back it was pretty much gone. Not worth 10 bucks. _______________________________________________ the bottles are kind of a nuisance because when it gets low you have to wrestle it to get anything out and though they are cute they are incredibly too small and, again, pricey continued >>
