I love the look and feel of the Extra Lasting Cream to powder. It has a nice Mattee finish which I love and med to full coverage. This is not a makeup I will use everyday, onyly on special occasions when I want a little extra coverage. What I didn't like was the weird chemical like smell that is now coming from my compact. It may be due to it now being several months old so I will be ordering a new one to see if the smell is the same. Although I have never had breakouts while using this product, the smell does concern me. I also wish it had a higher spf, but I use Avon's CC cream for that purpose.
This is my HG of foundations at the moment. Im not a big fan of liquid and I can't use JUST powder on my face so this is perfect! It's really hard to find my shade at any drug store and my friend had an Avon party... so I tried the Smooth Minerals powder in light beige, it seemed to match pretty close. During the time I was into mineral makeup, but found it to be too drying on my face later on. So I went ahead and ordered this cream to powder foundation in the same color and haven't changed since! Staying power is decent, tho at times I find myself adding extra mineral powder over the foundation to stop the shine. Price is good, packaging normal with no problems, buildable layers, overall great for me. Reviewing for Light Beige!
This foundation is good. It goes on smoothly and evenly and it lasts all day. It doesn't make me break out and seems to be a little moisturizing. It also doesn't accentuate any dry patches on my face like other cream to powder foundations I've tried.
I wish that it had a higher SPF (15 doesn't seem like a lot). I also use powder foundation over top of it still as I don't like any kind of shine.
I've tried every foundation you can imagine and none have been as impressive as this one! It goes on smoothly and evenly and it lasts all day. Highly recommended!
I purchased this in Creamy Natural. I'm usually lighter like Ivory, Bobbi Brown Sand, Laura Mercier Creme Ivory, Mary Kay Ivory 202.
I like the consistency of this. Its not super oily and I don't feel the need to use a powder over it. Creamy Natural really isn't a very good match for me. I probably need a shade or two lighter.
I'll use this as SPF in a pinch... the color is slightly salmony so it makes a terrific under eye concealer, but I don't think I will repurchase. It seems like it oxidizes a bit, and I had it on for maybe an hour and a half to go grocery shopping. I'll use it up, but I won't repurchase.
UPDATE: I have changed my mind about this foundation. Avon recently added new color selections to their foundation lines and I'm wondering if they also improved on the formulas. I tried this one again in one of the new shades, Light Caramel. Not only is it *the* perfect color for me, the product both looked and felt good on my face. I did find that I got a little oily earlier than I normally would but I just took care of that with my powder from another brand. I was pleasantly surprised. FURTHER UPDATE: sadly, this causes breakouts around the sides of my mouth and chin. Am going to try this in the liquid.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I also do not care for this particular foundation. I find the liquid version to be much better. The coverage with this one is unpredictable at best. Fortunately, it didn't cost a mint so I don't feel so bad about just throwing it out, which is exactly what I plan to do.
urgh....i hate this foundation. First shades are lighter than the liquid extralasting foundation. So order 2 shades darker than your skintone. I ordered my usual cream beige in this cream to powder version, it was very light. Than I ordered Natural Tan, its still too light, then I ordered Pure Beige, its a close match but still to neutral. So I will review Pure Beige, it is blotchy, the formula sort of covers when I first put it on. Then through out the day, it dissapears, leaving me patchy! The coverage and thickness is better on the liquid foundation.
