I have tried a few different brands from Sally's. I tried the L'oreal Techniques Excellence Creme in the shade 7.43 dark copper golden blonde, which was sort of similar in shade but just doesn't even come close to the quality of this brand and shade. I have also tried the Ion Color Brilliance Demi Permanent in 6rc dark copper blonde. That colour, despite being the same level as this one, is just a weird product. It starts out really dark, and violet based, and takes forever to fade to a nice natural colour. By then, roots have grown in and the roots never get fully blended to begin with since it's not a permanent colour. The only upside to the Ion demi perm is the condition it leaves your hair in. I will admit, that the one n only doesn't leave my hair in as good a condition as the ion demi permanent. It doesn't ruin my hair, or leave it completely damaged, but it is a permanent colour so it does dry out my hair a tiny bit. After a bit of washing and conditioning, however, my hair goes back to normal. Also, the hair never lacks shine. Immediately after colouring, the hair might feel a tiny bit dry but it looks super shiny and silky, shinier than the Ion. I do have fine, silky hair so that might be why I notice the dryness a bit, but it's really not that a big deal. To summarize: don't even bother with the L'oreal, the Ion is worth it if you don't want any damage, but this brand takes the cake for the nicest colour and most shine. The Ion makes your hair feel better, this brand makes your hair look better. The colour is magnificent. It's so rich, has so much dimension, my roots are completely covered and blended, the colour is so even and pretty. There is so much shine and tons of highlights. I've never had a colour look this good that I have done myself. I even prefer this to the professional colour I used to get back in the day. I found my holy grail. It's definitely a natural looking red shade, I don't think anyone suspects that I dye my hair. The undertone is more on the tangerine/orange side which is what natural redheads have. Redheads don't actually have "red" hair, or violet/cool toned or fire engine red. It also lasts really well. I have seen some reviews that say it washes out very fast, but I have washed it about three times and it hasn't faded at all. I think the low ammonia makes it work sort of like a demi, which actually lasts very long in the hair compared to normal permanent dyes. I noticed this with the Ion Demi Perm, that it lasted really long, and so does this one. It's perfect. Also, for reference, my natural colour is a level 7 light brown/auburn, and I used a volume 10 developer with this dye.

I'm a hairdresser and I work at Sally's in Canada. When I got a free sample to try this color I was excited. I chose a Demi in a 6g to put over a previously coloured client who had fine, lifeless level 7. The color took much darker then I expected even for a deposit only Demi. I do like the extra oils out in to help keep the integrity of the hair

Tried 9A on bleached pale yellow hair and it turned it into an ugly shade of muddy ashy orangy medium blonde color, I am giving this brand two stars only because it didn't fry my hair, other than that I won't be buying this haircolor again since the tone of blonde looks very cheap, I will continue to use L'Oreal Excellence in extra light ash blonde #01 which even comes with pre treatment serum included and gives me a beautiful very expensive looking light ash blonde, in the meantime will continue with oil treatments to try to try to wash this color out.

The best hair color I have ever used. I prefer this to going to a salon. It made my hair feel so conditioned, and unbelievably smooth ! When I was rinsing it out I was amazed at how soft and smooth my hair felt. I waited for it to dry and my hair felt equally amazing ! I am blown away. The color is also beautiful. I use shade 4N, and it turns out just lovely. The color is rich and shiny, with great coverage. Doesn't drip (if mixed properly), doesn't smell bad at all, and rinses out pretty easily. I love the results so much, it is my HG color. It's only $10 too, which is a total steal for how awesome this stuff is. I used mine with the matching One N' Only Argan 20 Volume Developer, which was also super cheap. Having thick, longer hair, I used an entire tube and the entire smaller bottle of developer for my roots + entire head. I can't recommend this color enough !

I really wanted this color to cover my grey hair....but it didn't AT ALL!!I am probably 80% grey and have been coloring my hair for years.I LOVE Chromatics by Redken but it is getting harder and harder to find and the price keeps going up....so with all the great reviews I thought I would try this. I used 7N only on my roots as I always do and barely any color was deposited on my grey!So back to Redken it is!

I used 5a light ash brown. Didn't irritate my scalp, the chemical smell came out after the first wash. I love that it has 2 applications in 1 package. The color came out great. No red tones & no green or gray cast. Perfect. I usually use loreal's hicolor but I think I like this brand better. HG.

This leaves my hair soft and shiny, and bright. I use the 6RG, a dark, tangerine copper on my level 6-7 brown hair. It comes out very natural. It lasts, doesn't smell too horrible, and is easy to use. I have tried may natural reds from other brands, and this is my favorite.

I really like this hair dye! The color I used basically is a toner as well, I bought the 7A (high lift cool blonde) and it took my medium brassy blonde hair to a light ash blonde. Exactly what I wanted. It also smells good and leaves your hair feeling soft.
