I was excited to try this product ,disappointment. :( I have an oily t-zone and it became slightly more oily with this product. Around my mouth it started to dry and burn a bit. I read some reviews that it was wonderful for oily/acne prone skin, but it didn't work that well for mine, bummer. :( My cheeks on the other hand broke out !!!!! The smell was surprising, smelt like baby powder.
I tend to use a lot of home remedies for my hair and skin care regimens, so when I decided to become a big girl and nut up and buy a real moisturizer, I checked a few "best under $20" lists instead of this site. Stupid me. I bought this at full price (dumb), failed to read about the reactions to sensitive skin (rookie mistake), and got an immediate burning sensation when I applied this to my skin (just awesome). I thought my Macaulay Culkin moment would subside...nope. Found this site, washed that jank off, and remoisturized with something that did not set my skin ablaze. At least it smelled good when it was singeing my face.
I have dry skin and I like this lotion a lot. Got it at Ross for 3$
I have dry skin and this is the most drying moisturizer I've ever used, which is strange because it doesn't even have salicylic acid in it. It does, however, have a whole bunch of pore-clogging ingredients that I found out after buying it and researching the ingredients. The formula is really thick like a cream and is very hard to absorb, then leaves your skin strangely oily and stays on the surface. Plus, I don't usually have sensitive skin, but this interacted badly with one of my facial scrubs and made my entire face red and stinging. The only good thing I can say is that it smells heavenly, like sweet almond oil, which is one of the main ingredients.
First of all, I absolutely LOVE the packaging on this product, it's great. No-mess pump, and just the right size bottle. On the downside, this moisturizer did not help my oily, acne prone skin. It made my face look like an oil slick, but on the upside, it did not break me out, but didn't help with my acne either. Overall, the product was pretty neutral, although I wouldn't spend the money on it again.
My skin is trouble: very sensitive and prone to clogged pores. I switched to this product to avoid the mid day oil slick. I initially liked it, but after a week my pores were clogged and my face was blotchy. Going to put it on the shelf and try another.
Doesn't break me out like EVERY other moisturizer I've tried
soften lines better than anti-age moisturizers
Dries very quickly
easily able to control how much product comes out
Kinda smells like a light baby powder the first few times
Makes me shiny under makeup
little bit pricey, but worth it
I have been looking for a new moisturizer for the last 1,5 years ever since my skin started acting strange and shifted from being super dry to something like a combination of very dry yet quite oily and acne prone in the T-zone and also sensitive. I have tried the most expensive stuff and cheaper natural products too (I only use natural moisturizers). I have been using this moisturizer for a month or so, but from the very first time I put it on, I saw great results and a big difference from everything else I had used. It does reduce redness, it does moisturize, and it definitely helps me to prevent breakouts.
I rarely write reviews, a product has to be amazing or really horrible to prompt me. That said, this stuff SAVED MY FACE. I've never had flawless skin, but it's never been riddled with zits either - mostly monthly hormonal breakouts that I'd learned to handle and contain. Then along came menopause and all hell broke loose on my face. I'm talking big and plentiful zits and nothing short of a blowtorch seemed to reduce the size and number. I was sporting a teenage pizza face at 49 - oh joy. I made an appointment with a dermatologist who barely looked at my face, just scribbled out a prescription for 3 months of minocycline. No thanks. I know the dangers of taking an antibiotic for long periods and I really wanted to find out what caused the sudden change in my skin and work from there. I began doing my own research and I was blasting my poor skin with everything from sulfur soap to Murad kits to prescription strength benzoyl peroxide. This resulted in a red, flaky face with the same number of zits. Normally I've got oily skin, and I'd managed to strip every bit of that without solving the problem. All I'd gained was a sore itchy face. While reading about the antibacterial and soothing benefits of honey masks and other more natural options I came across a review for Yes to Tomatoes. I'd seen it on drugstore shelves but hadn't paid much attention to the line. It seemed to have such great reviews that I decided to give it a shot - I didn't have anything to lose at this point. I picked up a bottle of Yes to Tomatoes daily balancing moisturizer and although I'm sure that everyone's results are different - within 24 HOURS my skin was much, much better. No kidding! By day two I had only a couple of small zits left. I couldn't believe that it worked so quickly! It was exactly what my skin needed. I'd stopped using the harsh cleansers that were frying my face, and adding this potion was apparently the answer. My routine now consists of Clinique liquid facial soap in mild, Clinique exfoliating scrub 3 x per week, and Yes to Tomatoes daily balancing mositurizer every single day. This trio has healed and maintained what was once a hot mess. I should add that I use pure jojoba oil as a makeup remover at night. It's AWESOME.
I guess when we're oily and broken out our kneejerk reaction is to come in with the most powerful stuff we can find, which either generates excess oil or burns up our skin. Neither is a good thing. This gentle routine has done more for my skin than anything I've tried. My skin looks smoother, stays clear, and excess oil is no longer an issue. Lesson learned! Be kind to your skin and it will be kind to you. I can't say enough about this natural (mostly), gentle approach to problem skin. I love my skin again!
I started using this and it didn't help at all for me. My skin was still dry and it was even flaking no improvement at all. I would not by this product again.
