Cute colors on the packaging, but that's about the only positive I have to say about this. Doesn't hold a curl, which is my biggest must-have! I don't remember it clumping, since I hate spider eyes/clumps, so maybe that was a plus for it as well. Didn't lengthen or really add volume, so I guess I can only say that this just made my lashes darker. And straight.
My friend recommended this product for me because i wanted a separating mascara, i bought i yesterday. Have to say the brush is difficult to use and it clumps if u do not apply it properly, but it is quite separating
OK mascara all around but nothing impressive. I have naturally thick long lashes and need something to lengthen, define, and curl a bit more. I am not after a volumizing mascara. This one is good, probably not worse than their Falsies or Colossal. All Maybelline are very black and are hard to take off and this one is not different.
I got this mascara to see what all the hype was about and I don't understand what the big deal is. It didn't make my lashes that long or thick and it's clumpy. It's not horrible but it's not amazing either. I'm glad it's inexpensive or else it would've been a waste.
i honestly don't get why everyone (especially makeup artists) find this mascara so great!
it's OK. but this is it! JUST OK. i've had better and i've had worse. s
so for all you out there looking for a good mascara either do your research and try em out till u find one you like or do the tried and true way of just plain asking a gal what she uses if you like what shes wearing. i've found my nail lady, waxing lady, and several cosmetics that i can't live without now that way! and i've found that fellow women are more than happy to share the info... so don't be shy girls! it's flattering when someone asks about what your wearing because they are essentially saying that whatever it is your doing/wearing is working and they wanna try it for themselves! :-)
so, again, i just don't get it about this mascara.....
honestly i don't remember what the name is of my favorite cause i can't afford it right now.... but it's one or more of the Lancome line... their mascara is spendy....it goes for about $27 - $30 depending on what you buy but WOW that stuff is great. again, however, to each their own.
if your not sure try and score some samples! thats best anyways because us ladies are "supposed" to throw out our mascara every 3 months anyways. (little secret: if you do what your supposed to along the lines of hygiene....especially NOT LETTING others use your eye makeup then you might be able to get away with using your mascara a little longer....don't hold me to that though. god forbid any of you would get some eye infection because u didn't throw out you mascara but that is what works for me!)
oh and also....all those ads u see in the magazines for mascara....they use false lashes on th models....yep all of em.... some of the time the ad will even have it written super, super tiny....but yeah nobodys lashes looks THAT good from JUST mascara i don't care if your heidi-freaking-klum....thems false lashes ladies!!!!
so don't despair!!!! good luck to all of us on our quest for the perfect mascara!!!! :-p
This has got to be one of the worst mascaras ever. Idk how it's been around all these years. It sucks.
This mascara is...okay. Whenever I wore it, it would smudge onto my brown bone after a bit of wear. Also it bled underneath my lower lashes leaving me irritated and looking a bit like a panda only at 11 in the afternoon. If you are just going out to run a few quick errands then I think it is a good mascara. But if you are out for hours and also sweating a bit and working hard and want something that will stay, try something else out. Personally, I found the Cover Girl Lash Blast Length to be a better mascara than this since it stays on better. Also Great Lash is a softer mascara so if you have oily eyelids or sweat easily it is not going to stay well and it will smudge.
Back in the 90s, Great Lash mascara was the worst mascara and I tried it out twice back then! I don't know why but ever since this mascara first came out it seems like it's always gotten props and I just don't know why : O
For me it was flaky, messy, had the lashes too stuck together, clumpy and dry and the normal black one didn't look like black more like grayish off-black or some foolishness. L'Oreal Voluminous mascara is the classic go-to pharmacy/drugstore mascara rather than this waste of money. But these days Maybelline comes out with so many new mascaras all the time that I'm sure they have one that beats (not so) Great Lash without even trying!
My sister used to use this mascara all the time so I eventually thought I'd give it a try since it was pretty cheap anyway! The packaging is really nice and the pink/green mixture scored a few brownie points.
There was no brown option so I had to settle for black, which I wasn't too happy about since black can easily look very heavy, and the cheaper brands often look cheap.
This wasn't too bad actually when it came to application. It was a bit messy, so I had to be super careful when coating my lashes not to smudge. I soon found a better mascara by No7 that suited my tastes more and this one lay forgotten in the drawer.
I would probably get it out again to use should I run out of my current mascara (Bad Gal lash in black, please see my other reviews for Bad Gal and others) but I don't think I would buy this again.
Definitely my new HG.
I go through mascaras quickly, so for this reason, I really can't afford to buy expensive mascaras. I used MAC Mascara X for a while, but because of the price, it seemed a bit much for me to spend that much on mascara every two months,
I absolutely love this mascara. The packaging is classic Maybelline. The brush was a bit weird to use at first, but I got used to it quickly and I've found that it's very helpful in getting the little lashes at the front of my eye. It's also great for bottom lashes as it can look quite subtle (bold lower lashes really aren't for me).
As many reviewers have stated, it does make lashes clumpy. I noticed this on my first use and still notice it today. It doesn't really bother me as I like my mascara slightly clumpy, and any excess I can easily brush through with an eyelash brush. It also makes my lashes stick together, but again, not a bother for me as I don't mind brushing them a little bit, or even seperating them with my finger.
After a full day of wearing this mascara it stays put and doesn't give me raccoon eyes, which (because I have oily skin) I've noticed a lot of masacaras tend to do.
Absolutely love this product! Amazing value for money, and I feel no reason to ever buy a different mascara
