I read a lot of reviews that said these didn't wear, and dragged when being applied etc. I didn't have that experiance at all. But, clearly with a stick formula, knowing it is thicker and dryer to hold it's shape, I think you have to prep your skin properly. I moisturize well, and wear a primer also. But, by doing those things I am able to use the stick only in the spots that need it, and as the shade is exactly suited for my skintone, it blends away perfectly. I top it with a little powder and I'm good to go. It has lasted me all day, with no touch up needed. It doubles as my concealor as well, and looks great. Love it!
I like Bobbi's products because most of her stuff have a strong yellow undertone and I have red spots all over from acne. It balances out my reds a little but I still need concealer around my nose and chin, not to mention my occasional pimples. It has a medium coverage and stays on just a bit longer than half a day but I set it with my MAC Studio Fix to make it last longer. It's easy and fast, which is what I like about it the most in the morning. Although it isn't my biggest concern, it's not very sanitary because you are rubbing the stick on your face and whatever germs that are left over stays on the stick. Oh and the price-- I got it at discount price at a Sak's outlet, and I don't think I would have ever tried it at full price. I won't be running out of this for a longgg time but I think I'll try something else once I'm done, because I like trying new things.
I think the color I got might not have been the best match...a little too yellow I think. BUT besides that this foundation is very easy to use and you can bring it anywhere. Its creamy and kinda thick. No problems blending. I felt I looked oily when wearing this. You could definitely tell I was wearing foundation. I didn't like that about it. It did provide medium-full coverage. I would try it again in another color to see if I look more natural and less greasy.
edit: I got a lighter shade recently and no longer have the problems I mentioned above. I raised my rating as a result. I don't look like I have a thick coat of fdtn of my face.
I really loved this when I first purchased it. It was so easy to apply (a few swipes on my face, then blended with a foundation brush) and lasted all day. Unfortunately, something in this made me break out. I used it for about a week and noticed small bumps on my face. They cleared up when I stopped using it. I gave it one more try, but got the same results. It might work for someone with less-sensitive skin though- I found it to be natural and effortless otherwise.
I love this.
And said goodbye (forever) to mineral makeup and all the powdery mess that comes with those experiments and to liquid foundations that never really match my skin and require brushes and sponges. I dislike extra-steps in my makeup routine, I like it simple and effective.
This is it.
The packaging is genius, sleek and very transportable. The texture is perfect for my normal/combination skin. It blends perfectly, matches my skin color (good color selection)
I only apply this to small areas that need to be evened out: undereyes, around my nose, some redness I might have. This covers slight blemishes well enough, but I wouldn't be able to pull off a flawless look if I had acne. For that, only Estee Lauder Foundation worked.
But now that I don't have that problem anymore (see my cosmedix reviews), this is all I use.
I really love this!
I am a rather recent Bobbi Brown convert -- I have a lot of pink in my skin, and I was not initially drawn to the idea of yellow-based foundations -- but I have had luck with shade matching in this line, whereas most others are too dark (or actually too pink, and end up peachy). I love having this foundation stick in my purse -- it's so convenient! I use Alabaster (00, which seems less yellow than the rest), and it's great to use for mid-day touch-ups and to use as a concealer. My skin is on the dry side, and it does not look cakey or thick. This is definitely one of my new must-haves! My only gripe is that it seems a little expensive ($38) for how much product is actually in the stick -- but that won't be a deterrent to me buying it again!

First stick foundation I have ever used and I love it. I wear 1 Warm Ivory and it is a PERFECT match. BB is great with shade matching. This foundation provides great coverage, is creamy, blends well, and lasts, not to mention is easy and quick to apply for those of us who are in a rush. Also, my skin has become sensitive lately, and this has not caused any breakouts or irritation for me, which is a plus. It's expensive, but all BB products I've used are well worth the price.
By far my favorite BB foundation due to it's versatility as a concealer, spot corrector, and foundation along with portability and ease of use. I have been using this for years and love it. I wear shade warm beige and it is a very natural match with no pink or orange tones whatsoever.
Biggest waste of money oily, sticks to dry patches, broke me out and doesnt blend :(
i have normal/dry skin and this came off in 2 hours.. if your oily stay away..
hmm i have experimented with this foundation since that review.
i find that when i use my simple moisturiser before hand it looks nicer, i'll finish it up but i will not buy this again
I'm a fan of Bobbi Brown products and their range of skin tone shades. My foundation stick matched my skin tone perfectly, however, I found the foundation stick to be quite oily/greasy.
I've been a long time user of Napoleon's foundation stick and i LOVED the matte finish. When I converted to Bobbi Brown, it was a bit of a let down. You might be lucky enough to maybe tone down the oilyness from using a mattifying primer - but I really dont think its worth it considering the price (AUD).
