I tried this liner on a whim (like most things I purchase) and I was very happy. It stays on all day (longest I've worn it was 12+ hours) and does not smudge or move. At first I thought it was pricey, but then I realized that the little pot lasts twice as long as one Revlon or Maybelline eyeliner (MAC Fluidline Eye-liner $15, drugstore Eye-Liner ~$8-9) so the price is no longer an issue. Now I'm going to try the other colors.

I'd been using one of MACs liquid liner pens on and off for the past year or so...not completely satisfied with it but not really knowing why. At my friends house I tried this liner and found out why. The brush lets you be so much more in control then a pen does and it also lets you play with the thickness of the line more! I may be the only one, but I just love applying my eyeliner with a brush! It makes me feel so feminine :) This does stay on through out the day and I love the little pot it comes in. I do recommend washing your brush after every use though (I just do it with water...not so inconvenient) because you'll have a pretty grungy make up case if you don't.
Blacktrack is amazing for the first couple months... it's creamy, smooth, applies with ease, and is deeply pigmented, and then a sad sad day comes -- the day you try to put on your eyeliner and then it flakes into your eye, becomes impossible to work with, and looks like total crap. The key to success is just accepting that this day will come and just get a new one when it does. Mine usually lasts about 6 months. I read that if you scoop out a little bit and put it into a sample container and just use that one you can extend the life of the gel liner... It dries out because of the air exposure everytime you open it, so that makes pretty good sense. I prefer the sonia kashuk bent liner brush or the MAC 210. Awesome product -- while it lasts :)
EDIT: I couldn't live with throwing away so much product, so I took a q-tip and scraped off the top layer -- a pretty thick one -- and under it was nice, creamy liner. So try this before you buy a new one.

Great! Stays on allll day, easy to apply. I recommend a good brush to apply it with as that can make all the difference.
This eyeliner is very creamy and it glides easily. I have very oily lids but this formula lasts all day!! The black color is very intense so I only use it on night out and prefer a brown color for daytime.
this is my 3rd jar of Blacktrack! it is one of the very best out there. i have used many other black gel liners, but over the years have always always come back to this! it's a staple.
i first want to talk about the staying power. the staying power is hands down the best out of every single gel liner i have tried. it stays amazingly well on the inner rims too. this withstands long hour days and watery eyes! it also doesn't irritate my contact lenses, which some do as they begin to dry a little.
now on to the colour. i really want to state that this is indeed really black, but not liquid liner black (like Bobbi Brown's black). it isn't the blackest black, but i feel like this is deliberate because 1. you can just layer it if that's what you want, 2. it allows you to put this on your lower lashline, 3. it allows you to put it on your inner rims and 4. you can apply this thicker, with a bigger flick and will never ever look harsh. this is the kind of black that it is so that you aren't just limited to wearing it only one way and i personally think this just gives it a lot of dimension.
lastly, this glides on incredibly smooth and creamy.
i would recommend this 100%

Fluidline does not budge all day and I <3 it. It glides on smoothly and is very black. You can wear it softly or boldly which is nice too. continued >>

My HG eyeliner, lasts all day, doesn't flake or smudge!
I use this product neally everyday, you may think you don't get alot of product, but one pot lasted me around 6 months. Glides on smoothly and creates a perfect winged look with an angle brush.

Did not like. After reading so many rave reviews about this, I decided to try it. I am loving this is DIPDOWN, so I thought Blacktrack would be just as good. NOPE. It goes on very smooth, but the color pay off is sub par to average. I really only wear BLACK liquid eyeliner as a cateye. This just did not live up to the hype. While easy to apply with a MAC 210 brush (love!!!), the opacity was blah. I had to go over it 3 times to get it really black, and I just felt that was too much work. If you prefer a softer black, than this would work for you, but I prefer JET BLACK. Definite miss for me.
This is the first eye liner I've ever used & bought! Coming from a beginner's point of view, this is really really very easy to use. But the down side is that it smudges onto my lower eye easily even with Mac eye primer. I guess this doesn't work really well on oily skin & on people who perspire a lot. & be sure to keep this pot in a cool place, my pot is currently dried up. continued >>
