I have a lot of love for patina. Purchased it last week and have worn it everyday since. Looks beautiful by itself on the lid, i find it has a subtle olive tone to it. Very versatile, looks good with a variety of colours. Fabulous with sketch in the crease.

This is my favourite eyeshadow from MAC. When I don't know what to wear, I would just dip my brush on this eyeshadow. It can be a overall colour and it matches other brown, grey and green shades easily. It's also very buildable. I just love it.

I love this eyeshadow. It's a really interesting brown/gold/green colour - quite hard to describe. It isn't the most pigmented, but to me that works well as a natural everyday colour. I'm NW20 with green eyes and I definitely recommend giving this a go.

This is a beautiful, frosty golden taupe (and slightly metallic). This is a great all-over lid color. I agree with some people that pigmentation is not the greatest, but I'm an NW20 and I use this for a daytime eye which makes the amount of pigmentation fine for that purpose. I wear this all over my lid, with MAC Retrospeck for a highlighting shade (inner corners of the eye and browbone), and Greensmoke for the crease and outer-V; and either MAC Greasepaint Stick in French Quarter OR MAC Technakohl liner in Photogravure (although MAC Powersurge would be really nice too). I think the combination of these colors really makes brown eyes pop, and it's perfect for daytime/work eye.

I really wanted to like this product since everyone raves about this color. The pigmentation really sucks on this color, even with an eyeshadow base. This is going to be returning to the store.

I think Patina is a lovely taupey brown shade with gold. But it doesn't make my eyes pop (NW20 black/brown hair, brown eyes) and it is a bit plain. I like it better than more red based browns, but it just doesn't seem to rock my world. On its own I do like it better than Era (prefer Era for soft crease looks), but not sure if I like it better than NYX Taupe. Of course, Patina has a satin finish with Era and Taupe having matte, and Patina definitely has more dimensions to it than either of Era or Taupe. All in all if you love browns, get this. But it is just ok for me.

I'm not too happy with patina... While it looks pretty in the pot, and I like the olivey pinky sheen in contrast with the Taupey nature of this shadow, I feel like it lacks pigmentation. I am NC30 and patina hardly shows up on my lids, I really wanted it to be like my NYX eyeshadow in iced mocha, but sadly it's not nearly half as good even though it's roughly triple the price. I've had it for about 3 months now and I have seriously only worn it 3 times... I might need to use it as a transition shade from now on...but I definatley will not be buying this again after I use it up in 4-5 years.

Dissapointing i tried the tester at my mac counter & loved it, bought it and its no where near as nice as the tester was its a hard colour to work with i have to use loads to get a subtle colour! continued >>

I got this shadow as a Back 2 MAC shadow, and it stayed in my drawer for a while, but I got it out recently and its a beautiful color, such a great base color for smokey eyes and in the crease to blend. Love it.
