Ok I have been using this oil off & on for the past 3 years, primarily in the winter. I thought it was doing "ok", telling myself the whole time that this oil was MUCH cheaper than the Clarins Oils et al. DH & I went to a reunion last March & met up with old pals we hadn't seen for 25 years. I had one of the husband pals pull me aside & flat out complements my face/sideways ask me if I'd had a lift.(one of the gals there obviously had...) and how great I looked etc. I assumed he was asking for his wife, but I'm gonna keep using this stuff! Not bad for knockn' on 50! BTW, I find the smell relaxing and you can use it everywhere continued >>

This product seem to work over time. I used it for 3 months and my scaring has faded, however I cannot stand the scent of this product and the packaging. I prefer a pump bottle for my products.

I have a raised, upside down moon-shaped scar on the side of my nose. I was really self-conscious of it and thought it looked like a couple warts on my nose. So, of course Bio-Oil's advertising worked like a charm on me. That was about two years ago. I've been not at all consistent about using it (though I did have an alarm on my phone to remind me to put it on at night for a little while). But it's so expensive that I've always kept it around and when I'd see it, I'd put it on. So, after inconsistent use over two years, I do notice a difference. The scar is still there and it looks kind of like it's puckered in but it's def less noticeable. I'm not worried if someone is sitting to my left and sees my profile (silly but true).
The only reason why I wouldn't buy it again is because I still have so much of it left.
FYI for those who have stretch marks: I've noticed that since I've used Lush's 'Buffy the Backside Slayer" the scars on my hips are def less noticeable. Still there, but they're not purple...just clear (does that make sense?). Now, I have terrrible skin and so I use Buffy every time I shower. I've always thought it was because of the cocoa butter. Cocoa butter helping stretch marks is no secret to us though. But I've never seen just a chunk of cocoa butter that I could buy. Buffy makes it very easy to use and apply pure(ish) cocoa butter.
Let me get down to the point. The product does not work. I had stretchmarks in areas women usually get stretchmarks. They are unflattering. Anyway, I used the product and it did not get rid of it. Its expensive, and you have to apply it twice a day, but it still did not work... its a tiny bottle too. I do not know how well it works for PREVENTING stretchmarks, but I do know that it does not get rid of EXISTING stretchmarks.
Do not waste your money!!!

This did not work for me.. Just overly perfumed mineral oil. I bought about 3 bottles of this and used it religiously for about 8 months. No fading of my stretch marks on my thighs. Did nothing to my face. Just didn't do anything... About $10 at your local drugstore! I cannot believe I repurchased this so many times x_x

I found that this does fade scars, just it takes around at least 5-6months to do so. I had a couple of acne scars on my face which it did help get rid of, but over that time my skin started breaking out more. I don't know if it was the bio oil or not, because I started using various new makeups/skin care. So to be honest, I'm not sure if it really does fade scars too well, or my scars just faded with time.

Bio-Oil is a skincare product which focuses on "scars", "stretch marks", "uneven skin tone", "aging skin" and "dehydrated skin" - all according to the box. That's a tall order for a single product!
The oil ( this is an oil, NOT a lotion ) comes in a small bottle and is easily managable. I didn't completely like the bottle opening cover - it caused some messy dripping, so be careful when applying, and wipe the bottle top when done.
The oil is odor-less and applies easily and absorbs well. It was slightly greasy but not too bad and certainly a LOT better than other brands.
All in all, I liked the product. DO NOT EXPECT QUICK RESULTS. According to all the enclosed product documentation - use should be for a MINIMUM of 3 MONTHS. In other words, use the product twice daily, with dedication and you'll have a good result.
i used this during my pregnancy to prevent and get rid of stretch marks. and it worked like a charm. they not only dissapeared, they turned white almost instantaneously. the only problem i have with it is the cap, once you have the oil on your hands it is nearly impossible to screw it on and off. also, it says good for face. dont do it ladies, i tried it and it feels like you have saran wrap on your face. no bueno. but its great for shiny legs and shoulders. its all natural so go nuts with it! haha.
I bought Bio Oil years ago in an attempt to heal scaring.
Let's start with what's good about it. The smell. It really did have an addicting aroma. That's why it gets two lippies and not one.
Beyond that, it did nothing it claimed. I used this twice a day, everyday and saw little to no change in my skin and scars. I used it for about 4 months, bought 2 or 3 bottles. Waste of money honestly. I DID find something that worked but it wasn't Bio-Oil.
All nateral organic cocoa butter melted down and mixed with a skin nourishing oil like sweet almond or jojoba is what saved my skin. I saw 10x the improvement compared to using Bio-Oil verses my home made body butter in 4 months. As a bonus, I know everything going into the cream I'm putting on my skin and thus inside my body as our skin is so absorbent.
--You can buy bulk cocoa butter and nourishing oils online. You can buy them in smaller sizes too. Look on e-bay. If someone wants any hints on working with these ingredients to make your own stretch mark, scar healing cream message me and i'll get back to you as soon as I can. Cocoa butter is amazing for scars too!! Not just stretch marks.
Also, the ingredients in Bio-Oil really turned me off. They make it sound so wonderful but it's full of pore clogging mineral oil and other suspicious possibly cancer causing ingredients. At least it was 2, 3 years go when I gave it a shot. When it comes to stuff I'm going to religiously, twice a day put on my skin the ingredients matter a lot to me. Bio-Oil lost me as a customer because of their ingredients.

This product will help reduce the redness of stretch marks but will never completely diminish them. Yes this product does work but it requires commitment and patience. Stretch marks are not something you can fix overnight however this product will provide some relief for new red stretch marks. In my honest opinion vitamin e oil is just as effective and more versatile to have around the house but I guess that's a matter of opinion.
