Another favorite foundation. This makes skin look amazingly good. The reason I don't wear this as often as some of my other foundations is because I think the color (5.5) is a little dark for me (others disagree, but, I am very picky about my face matching my neck). I can usually adjust the color with powder, but, this spring, I intend to get my shade matched again. I also intend to make sure I get the matte version (Lasting Silk) of this, due to my very oily skin.
Pros:
1. Flawless coverage
2. Build-able coverage
Cons:
1. Price
2. Not long-wearing; however, I may have the wrong finish for my skin type

I got a sample of this in 5 for my Asian skin tone. The match is great, maybe a little pale but will be great for winter. It really does glide on your skin and leaves a dewy finish. The coverage is sheer to medium so a little dab of concealer is required for us gals who have a little more red on the face. There is a glowy quality about the foundation which I like, it looks like I'm not wearing makeup. Will finish the sample and see how it goes before I fork out $90 but I really do like it so far.
Update: It seriously glides onto the skin. When my current foundation is finished, I'll highly consider this.

This product does fascinate me. I apply 1-2 drops of it and it covers up everything! Like other Armani cosmetics, the quality just is amazing and this foundation is no different. I use it when I go out or o special occasions because it is quite high in pigments and therefore can be a little bit heavy if you're a daily foundation user. The packaging is nice and simple and once again, a good size for travelling too.
I'm on the fence about this one. I can definitely see why it's so expensive because it is indeed high quality. It just wasn't intended for someone with my skin type: very oil with dark scarring and seeking medium-full coverage. But that's my fault for buying it even though I knew it wasn't made for all that, so I can't give it low marks. The reason I decided to try it was because I still don't like the flatness and dry look of matte foundations and I wanted something more natural.
First off, this is light to medium coverage. Very buildable, but I still couldn't manage to get full coverage out of it and I needed a concealer.
The finish is very dewy, which I can't pull off with my oily skin. I break shine through any foundation (yes, I even had a sheen with EL Doublewear!) so I expected that. The problem is, this stuff doesn't react well to touch ups. If I try to use blotting papers, it ALL sticks to the paper and comes off. It did not react well to my Guerlain mattifying compact powder or any loose powder - trying to mattify this foundation just made it gross and dough-like, like throwing flour on a wet table. I think this is just a foundation meant to be worn alone.
The texture, however, really impressed me. I do not have wrinkles at the moment, but I DO have pockmarks and indented scars. While there is no way to completely disguise them, some foundations do accentuate them. But GA Luminous actually did a fairly good job of not magnifying any indents or pores on my face. It's silicone (which irritates a lot of people's skin, but not mine), and that makes it a great winter foundation because it does not repeatedly freeze on your face outside and melt when you go indoors like a water-based fndtn. In terms of durability, it actually held up quite well on my face, albeit it was basically a big oil pool that sat on my face the whole day. I also have dry patches on the cheeks, and it did not accentuate them. The texture is probably what gives this foundation its claim to fame.
Overall, this would be a perfect foundation for someone with dry to normal skin looking for a dewy, light to medium coverage (still much more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, don't get me wrong). But unfortunately for me, it's not what I need.
For reference: I am a neutral toned NW20-25, and I used the shade 4.5. I ordered online. It was a little too light for me and looked greyish at times but nothing too noticeable. If I ordered again, I would probably look for a darker, yellower shade.

I'm seriously shocked that I don't absolutely love this foundation. I've been hearing about it literally forever and my colleagues live for it (I'm a fashion and beauty editor) but I never got around to trying it. What I'm so surprised about is, on my skin, it looks like I'm wearing powder foundation. It literally sits on top of my skin and looks sort of cakey and cracked, unless I dab some cream or highlighter over it. I can see how people think it looks natural, as it's so lightweight, but for me it's the opposite of dewy, even when my skin is perfectly moisturized. In fact, I look severely dehydrated, yikes. I'll stick with mixing my Laura Mercier and Dolce & Gabbana foundations for the perfect shade and consistency. continued >>

I'm always on the hunt for a better foundation although I love my MUFE 153. i have heard alot about this foundation from beauty editors, makeup artists, but every time I wanted to try it either my color was out or some other excuse. But I did find it eventually and matched myself to 8 because 7 is too pink and 6.5 too light. 8 is caramel and it matches although I have to reconcile myself to the fact that not every foundation is going to match as perfectly as MUFE 153. I have been wearing it for a week now and the formula sinks in smoothes out everything without primer but with primer its amazing. its very lightweight but can be built up and with my combination skin it doesnt leave me oily or anything at the end of the day or cause irritation.
*EDIT sigh I hate not being able to find the perfect foundation apparently my skin has decided it needs more moisture and hydration from foundation and luminous silk foundation and mufe aren't cutting it. I wore both of them to work on different days and went to use the restroom only to find the foundations settling into my pores and just sitting there ughhh It honestly made me look too made up and look older which is never a good thing. I want a silky dewy foundation thus I ordered tom ford (fingers crossed) its the one.
So disappointed in this product. I liked the packaging but that's about it! I found it heavy on the skin and I seemed to form a layer of grease on my face when wearing it (I have dry skin).
My advice? Try a sample first. At first I thought this was awesome but as it wore it was probably the worst I have used!

I was in my Nordstroms looking for the Nars tinted moisturizer, and I saw this and I knew a long time ago I wanted to try it but I didn't know which color I was. They MUA matched me with 5.75. I tried it today and boy they don't lie when they say silk. It feels so silky applying it and it's seamless, no streaks whatsoever. I'm kind of sad that it doesn't have some kind of spf protection in it. It doesn't accentuate the dryness, but it doesn't help it either. That being said, I'm going to compare it to Nars' Sheer Glow foundation because they seem similar to me. It is expensive, yes, but once you have the right color it melts right into your skin.
Love this foundation! It looks dewy but not too luminous. Just right! Great that it does not have spf, i found that it photographs well. It did not clog my pores nor made my skin feel dry. It is a medium coverage but you can definitely build it up.
I usually wear going out or when I know there'll be photo moments. Really really love this but due to the price, I am pretty frugal in using it.
I recommend this & will buy again when I ran out. continued >>
I purchased this last week..not intending to purchase yet ANOTHER foundation I 1- dont need and 2- not my color. I was in Saks just passing thru and I stopped by the GA counter where this guy lured me in only because I was merely curious about the foundations. Well to make a long story short, the next thing I knew I was sitting in the chair and he was taking off my makeup w/ a wet cloth. I let him know several times i was very hard to match but he insisted there WAS a color to match me. He matched me with #8 and indoor lighting, it was a great match. I was excited and plunked down the $60 and was eager to try it out the next day. I got home and since it was dusk outside i couldn't tell if it was still a match. The next day I reapplied it with natural sunlight and -of course- it was a shade too dark :( Although it wasn't THAT obvious, it was noticable to me.. it looked like i had been in the tropics and I looked bronzed but i think i need a shade lighter- just until summer hits. I mix it w/ my MUFE #123 and it's better. I like the consistency and the luminosity it gives as well as the finish, but again, the shade is wrong. I won't purchase again only because I will end up with another color that I will have to mix it with in order to get the right shade. So far, the only foundation that matches is my MUFE so i should just stick with that and quit monkeying around w/ others. I only gave it a 3 star because of that. I was looking at the swatches on this makeup and i think i will need to mix it w/ the 6.5 (the #7 looked too pink) but I'm not going there. Too bad - I'm going to use what I have because it was friggin expensive but not going to repurchase.
UPDATE: 03-07-12 - I decided to go back to Sak's and exchange it for the 6.5... a MUCH better color for me. I will see how it goes tomorrow when i start from scratch. (( Crossing my fingers )) ;)
