I can't imagine why anyone would pay the $$ for this product when there are drug store brands that are 10x better. Of the eye makeup removers I have tried it is the least effective...requires rubbing and it burns! Soap and water would work as well for me.
I got this as a gwp. I will not use this again. It made my eyes burn, and I don't feel that this did a great job with removing my makeup. To be honest, using a dye free, sensitive skin baby wipe did a better job without all the fuss.
Got this with my Estee Spectacular 2009 - 100ml bottle. Used it for the first time today. It didnt sting my eyes but the surrounding areas seem a tat dry. Saw my eyes slightly red but don't know if it is due to this makeup remover. Removed my maybeline gel liner ok. Didn't use mascara today. Still on the fence regarding this. I like the lotion for face better.
If this doesn't work on my eyes, may use it as a travel brushes cleanser instead. At least I can finish it. Love the dark blue bottle with gold cap very much. The 100ml size is great for traveling as it is the max size we can carry on board.
I want to try the Estee Take it Away Cleansing oil. Tried it on my hands, felt very nice and thick. Hope it cleanse as well as Mac Cleanse Off!
I got this at CCO so it was a little bit cheaper than at sephora or anything, but even without the discount it is at a decent price ($15.50 about). I have had mine for about a month or two and I've used 1/4 to 1/3 of the product. However I do not use alot of makeup (concealer and eyeliner only mostly).
Pros: plastic container easy to travel, works great, very gentle, great price, travel sizes available sometimes as gifts w/ purchase deals.
Cons: a littttttttttttle bit drying, but nothing too much. All makeup removers/cleansers will be drying but this is still very gentle.
Overall great product! <3
HATED this product. first off, the packaging was HORRIBLE. the opening was so incredibly small, it usually got everywhere! also, the product barely worked!! it didn't remove any makeup, it irritated my eyes, and it was oily above and beyond. DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT.
Gentle my ass!! This stuff burns as soon as it gets into my eye!!! Although it does remove my eye make up pretty well but the fact that it burn when it touches my eye annoys me. I have to be really careful when I'm removing my eye make up. Overall this product is okay..
As a huge estee lauder fan, I was very very disappointed in this eye makeup remover. I got it in a huge set I got at macy's, and I ran out of my lancome bi-facial a few days ago and started using this. It stung a tiny bit when I used it, but even worse than that my eyelids became dry and flaky. I actually attributed it to a new eye moisturizer, but as soon as I stopped using this remover, the flakiness stopped. I'm definately switching back to either l'oreal eye makeup remover or lancome bi-facial. Both are far superior.
I received this as a GWP but have never used it. Well, this morning I found myself out of my regular makeup remover so I reached for this. It felt like I had dumped a chemical in my eye, so I reached for the bottle with the eye I still had vision in, and sure enough, it was the Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. My eye was bloodshot and on fire for a good hour after attempting to remove my mascara with this acid. This stuff ought to be banned by the FDA.
My mother-in-law gave me this eye makeup remover out of her gift with purchase set when I mentioned I was running out of my regular Mary Kay remover. "Great!" I thought, this will save me money. Uh, no. I went out and bought something else the next day. What is this stuff made out of? It does worse than plain water at removing makeup--I had to scrub to just get the eyeshadow off, forget about mascara--and it burns my eyes like heck! And the skin that it touched was red and irritated for a few minutes afterwards too. They must just make this stuff to stick in the giveaway bags, because I can't imagine anyone actually paying for it. Two thumbs way way way down.
