I'm that person who buys whatever mascara is on sale when mine runs out, so I bought this (black, non waterproof) buy one get one 1/2 off a few months ago mainly because my favorite eye liner (Almay black pencil) came free with it! I ended up being quite impressed with the mascara too and have bought a few more tubes since. I wear two coats every day and it makes my lashes look so full, dark and long. The brush never gets clumpy (only a bit on the tip part) and it really separates my lashes when I wiggle it at the base. I have had no problems with flaking or lashes clumping. I can't say whether it has made my lashes grow because right before I started using it I used a lash growing serum that really did work, so I cannot distinguish a difference. I will say now that I'm thinking about it I have been losing fewer lashes since I starting using this (about five months ago). I am bad about removing my eye makeup at night so I sleep with this on frequently and I have experienced no irritation. It is also easy to remove with water and facial wash, which I like. I am going to be sticking with this mascara.

First off: if you wear contact lenses, this is not the mascara for you...Flakes terribly and my contacts were sandy. I had to rinse out my contacts 2-3 times throughout the day. I got back to wearing my regular mascara (maybelline full & soft waterproof formula) and I was amazed at how great my contacts felt today. I am never going back to another mascara again. I do give it two lippies because I think my lashes did get a little longer, but I could probably chuck a little more money on something like rapid lash and still wear my favorite mascara.

This mascara is just ok for me. I decided to try it when I needed to replace my mascara and couldn't find my HG (Full n Soft wp) in the right color. I had heard good things on Youtube about this one and it sounded comparable to FnS. I like more natural looking mascaras because I have fairly long lashes and light coloration, so "falsie" type mascaras are overkill on me. I like that this mascara doesn't smudge or flake excessively, and stays on well but washes off easily. However, even for someone who likes natural looking lashes this isn't very pigmented (I have the color Black Brown). I have to do several passes with the wand in order to get my lashes looking dark enough. Also, I have some lashes that grow cross ways and tend to clump with mascara, and this does nothing to separate them or enhance curl. In fact, the more coats I use the more they seem to clump together. All in all, this is an average mascara that doesn't do much lengthening or volumizing. I haven't noticed my lashes growing longer or thicker yet either but will update if that changes. Also the packaging could use work because the top of the wand unscrews way too easily. I will use this up but won't repurchase. UPDATE: So I just used up this mascara and wanted to update my review a bit - I did notice that my eyelashes were longer when I used this consistently. I found also that this is a wet mascara at first, so it works best when it has dried out slightly. I also like the brush - it's thick but not too big. So, I may or may not repurchase this mascara, it's still not exactly what I'm looking for but I was impressed with the fact that it encouraged lash growth and wanted to update my review to reflect that. One lippie added!

I love this mascara so much! It volumizes, lengthens(well), doesn't clump, smear, flake, or get hard on lashes. It's perfect <3. This mascara isn't very expensive and I do agree, the brush is huge! But I don't use this on the bottom so it's okay with me. Love and will repurchase!

I bought the waterproof version and I really like this stuff. It volumizes, separates, and makes them super long. It doesn't clump at all and I layer on the mascara so that's a plus!! It also doesn't make my eyelashes feel stiff, they feel soft and it doesn't irritate my eyes. The wand makes it easy to apply and doesn't have bloobs of clumps like other mascaras. The only thing is it doesn't give my eyelashes a crazy curl just a slight curl for waterproof version. I just bought this product so I hope it really does make my lashes healthy and longer. This mascara is OK. I prefer Loreal Carbon Black. I didnt like the brush, it was too fat and couldnt get to my lower lashes. The fomula was too dry and looked clumpy. I will probably have to add a little water to thin it out. I will keep it but wont purchase it again.

UPDATE: I stopped using this for a few months but recently came back around to it and man, I fell in love all over again. I've TOTALLY noticed lashgrowth. I use Careprost 1x/week but I've even stopped using that since I picked up this stuff again. my lashes are enormous and fluttery. I purchased the black/brown shade this time and It's just as dark as the black. Total HG mascara for me. I've also noticed that the smudging I was having initially is no longer an issue.


I really like this mascara. The brush is great; regular bristles, not those pokey plastic things most new mascaras have these days. The formula is also wonderful - provides superb volume and length without clumping. The formula is also great for layering. It dries pretty quickly but not too quickly that you can't go back for a 2nd or 3rd coat.

My only complaint is that it does tend to smudge on my lids. I have oily lids, so it's not entirely the mascara's fault, but I do find that i have to 'clean up' throughout the day more frequently.

As far as the lash growth - I have definately noticed some length. I specifically bought this because i had a patch of lashes that broke off. I've been using this daily and have noticed that the broken lashes have been growing back significantly faster.

Great product. Ive been using since it first came out. This mascara helps my eyelashes strengthen so they dont break as much. I use the blackest black almay and then the blackest black prestige. I love my eyelashes. they always look great

I really love the way this mascara feels going on- soft and nice. It lengthens quite a bit and adds a soft volume without a crunchy feel. It is easy to build up. It looks really pretty at first and does hold a curl all day. The major problem with it is smudging. I have very oily lids and this smudges below my eyes (I don't even use mascara on my lower lashes)and even smudges onto my brow bone since I have long lashes that I curl. It is not a pretty look. I won't be buying this one again but I would recommend it for those of you without oily skin. I thought I might try the waterproof version to see if it is any less smudgy, but the reviews don't give me much hope since they mostly say it flakes.

I didn't like this mascara at first, it was a little wet for me. Also I was using Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes alot at the time. But that can be lengthening but not as volumizing as I would like and is super expensive. I went back to this a little while after I bought it and was happily suprised at how much I love this mascara. It is really lengenthing and volumizing without getting too clumpy. I generally do two coats and it seems to last all day without flaking off or smudging down onto my face. I don't wear mascara on my lower lids so I can't say whether it would stay there or not. But this is a great everyday mascara and I feel like it is much gentler on my lashes than a lot of other brands.
