I love this product so much! I just use concealor and then top it off with this. I have moderate acne and acne scarring (but its clearing up) and this product makes my face look so smooth. I tried the NYC translucent powder but it made my chin break out so I just use this. This powder is more expensive than the nyc one but its worth it. I also have very oily skin and this powder does wonders for it! I just carry it around everywhere. The brush is not very good so I just use an e.l.f. face brush that i got for a few dollars. Another plus is that the powder stays on for a long time!
i used to use this way back in 2009 in the Philippines. they have testers at their department stores and you can easily find the right shade that matches your skin and it really gave me a great coverage since i have a lot of acne scars and prone to acne. but when i wanted to buy it here in the USA, i can't find the shade that i want and there are no testers so i tried bare escentuals instead but it's expensive! probably i'll go back to using this product again when my BE runs out and hopefully find the right shade for my skin. oh yah, the only thing i don't like about this product is the kabuki brush. its rough on the skin!
Wow.. What is with all this negativity with this product? It's a really good mineral foundation and the problem with a lot of reviews who are rating it badly is most likely because they are not using it correctly.
APPLICATION
Lightly shake the pot. Open the lid and lightly dab a blusher brush into it LIGHTLY until there is thin layer left on the brush. Apply to your face in circular motions, focusing on your cheeks, forehead, t-zone, anywhere else you want until you are happy with the amount/coverage the foundation.
Anyway, I think it's a pretty good mineral foundation compared to others. It's light, gives great coverage and granted there isn't a great range of shades but if you look you will find a suitable shade. I noticed mine stays on pretty long and doesn't make my skin greasy which is so handy!
I really love this product!
very distressing for a separate brush. but this product makes my face look brighter, although not for too long.
This is a good drugstore mineral foundation however the shades run dark. I use Nude (light 4) and I have a medium skin tone. I like that it has a semi matte finish. Doesn't look shiny on my oily skin. Gives good coverage. I apply it all over with a flat top kabuki and use a concealer brush for extra coverage. Even with a primer it doesn't last that long and fades off kind of blotchy but my skin is very oily and the weather here is very hot and humid. Not sure if I would by it again.
I ended up having to buy this foundation in two shades since the foundation oxidizes after a few hours. The shade ended up a little more orange than I hoped it would be. Compared to my BE foundation I can definitely tell that there is less shimmer in the powder; however, the powder does leave my face a little chalky. I'd probably give the product a better rating, but I'm not quite sure where I placed it. I don't really have a lot of flaws on my skin, but the powder evens out my skin nicely. I'd say the coverage is about light to medium.
edit (6/22/12): Got this in either the third or second shade. I'm around an nc 20-25. It's decent, not as smooth as the bare minerals.
I didn't buy this product but i tested it out at Ulta. There are like 8 shades!! I have no idea why they would only make a few shades with such a good product!! For every girl, who has the most trouble finding their shade, this may not be for you. The powder's were either too dark, too light or had too much red tint. The red tint was weird! i have never in my life seen anyone with brown-red skin! I am a nice caramel color, and that wasn't even their! Anyway, the makeup was very smooth and glides on your skin so nicely :)
This price was great for how much product you get.
The packaging its a little messy, but what do you expect from a loose powder.
If Maybelline extends their line of shades i will positively, absolutely try to find my shade (crossing my fingers that they do!).
*Tip: Go to Ulta or any makeup store that lets you try one the product before buying it. Or else you may buy something, go home, try it on, and look like a red turnip (that is the only red thing i could think of..lol)! Don't waste your hard earned money!!*
i was excited to try this... i heard it was like bare minerals, which would be great considering i dont have the money for that stuff. however this stuff sucked! it dried my combination skin out drastically and made it peel... also, throughout the day it would gather in my oily areas and give off a weird orangey color on my forehead...yeah sooo attractive haha. i would not recommend this!

When searching for 'The Perfect Foundation' I realised that I'd always gone for liquid foundation and never even considered powder, even though my skin was getting oilier and oilier. Picking this up at Boots, I was expecting to get a better result that the liquid foundations I'd been using, but it wasn't to be. Sure, it covered well, but I had the same old problem of too much pink undertone, and it also showed up my dry patches a lot, because even though my skin is oily, it's combination so I get those dry patches on various places. PLUS the pakaging is crap because the powder is so loose that you end up putting too much on your brush, which results in looking like a Geisha doll. Maybelline always has this problem with too much pink undertone, they need to start thinking about ALL of their customers and how each one comes in a different shade with YELLOW undertones aswell. I think I'll just stick to liquids and pressed powder on top.
