i think i've found my HG cheapie shampoo. it's the first d/s shampoo i've used that made my coarse hair stay soft even after it's completely air dried (usually, i've got a mess of fly aways and the coarser hairs tend to spiral and curl, even though my hair is naturally supposed to be stick straight). it's the first Suave Professionals shampoo i've used and i'm very pleased with the results. smells nice too--kinda fruity... a bit citrusy and very clean.UPDATE 02-02-07: when i turned my hair into a greasy mess with dry ends using the Garnier Sleek and Shine products, one shampoo from this line, mixed with a little baking soda, followed with this conditioner turned my hair back to pure silk. that was over half a year ago. i've since ruined my hair with the Biolage line, both the Suave Knock Offs and the real deal Matrix shampoo and conditioner... and unfortunately, this line and the real Matrix sleek.look line won't repair my hair. these lines have way too much silicone in them and it's drying my hair out to the point where if you were to grab my hair and squeeze, you'd hear a crunching sound. i just want to warn my fellow hair afficionadas about these Suave products... they're fabulous, but i can't recommend using them long term, because they'll ruin your hair in the long run, alot sooner than the real Salon versions can... simply because their base has WAY more silicones in them than the real deal. back to my Samy Salon until i can get my hands on Nexxus Therappe and Humectress. i'm not taking off any lippies, because i'll still use this line when i'm GOING OUT and NEED super sleek, gorgeous hair, but until then, i can't use it at all. continued >>
I bought this b/c I wondered if it would compare to the Matrix sleek line. It gave me an itchy scalp, and it has a weird plasticky smell.
hey this is great stuff! works really well withot damaging my hair and it's really cheap too!
I think this works much better than the Matrix version. It lathers more and my hair felt softer after I rinsed. It definately helps when blowdrying. I use this with Suave's BioBasics Conditioner and I have awesome results.
This is a pretty good shampoo and it costs under $2! I tried other Suave hair products before and was dissapointed but this is definitely higher quality. It lathers a lot but makes my hair feel soft, unlike most shampoos that make my hair feel dry and coarse. EDIT: I have changed my mind about this - even though it makes for a luxurious and soft shampoo, I noticed that my hair lacks luster once it's dried.
This is a basic but nice shampoo, definitely worth the price. The best shampoo Suave ever made. The performance is far exceed my expectation.
After trying the Matrix Sleek.look shampoo & conditioner for a while I decided, after reading reviews of the Suave version, to try it. What did I have to lose, it only cost $1.50/bottle. The Suave version is great! I love it. It has made my hair soft and it is much easier to flat iron straight. The shampoo lathers well (unlike the Matrix version) and the conditioner is great too. Matrix Sleek.look conditioner was really hard to rinse out. I will definitely re-purchase Suave's version.
I typically use a wide variety of expensive and not-so expensive shampoos. I bought this product after seeing it mentioned on Good Morning America. I love this shampoo! I have the type of hair that gets very frizzy in humidity and this help so much. I recommend using a clarifying shampoo once a week or so, just so it doesn't end up weighing your hair down.
Incredible results for the money!
Update: After using this shampoo for several months, my hair started to look very weighed down. I finally had to switch.
This shampoo is AMAZING! I bought it because I loved Matrix's Sleek Look line and I didn't have the cash to burn at the time. It smells identical to Matrix(which I love, it's nice and fresh). It also works as well or better than the $16 a bottle stuff. I got this for $1.48! At that price, you have to try it since you've got nothing to lose but three bucks. :)
I have long color treated, highlighted, THICK, wavy hair that is very dry due to all the processing. This made my hair so easy to manage. It's very soft and sleek, so much so that I don't need my hair straightener anymore. I top it off with Matrix's Sleek Look Water Lock-Out Spray, but the shampoo and conditioner alone are great.
I have short, wavy, poufy hair with a tendency for an oily scalp. After shampooing twice, my hair feels clean but not squeaky-clean or stripped. This seems to be as effective as shampoos that I've been spending $14+ per bottle, though the fragrance is definitely in the STRONG category. When I pair this with the Sleek conditioner, I find my hair is softer and lays flatter. My hair is smooth, easy to blow-dry and has nice shine. The overall effectiveness would normally rate a 4, but because of the price I'll gladly bump the review up to a 5. UPDATE: The scent finally got to me. Now it reeks so much that I don't want to use it again! Too bad, because it is a pretty good product.
