My sister introduced this to me and I love it. Perfect for bad skin weeks and if you have oily or acne prone skin. I would not recommended for those who have dry or sensitive skin. It really works for drying out pimples! I don't usually do the full mask, only my t-zone due to my combination skin. Sometimes I'll do spot treatment on a particularly bad zit. Just wash your face, apply and let it dry, and rinse with a wet cloth. I hate the smell but I can't deny the effectiveness!
I purchased this for $3 at Sally's Beauty Supply. Absolutely love this face mask! This is probably my favorite mask to date, and I have Aztec healing clay. I like that I don't have to make my own face mask out of powder with this one. And it works just as well as the Aztec healing mask. Between applying hair masks and hot oil treatments, I don't want to spend time in the shower making my own mask with different utensils.
The minty fresh scent gives your face that clean feeling. And the strength of this mask is just what the doctor ordered for hormonal or stress acne break outs. And yes, it is a strong face mask. But that is what is necessary to dry out those areas of cystic acne. It can be used as both a preventative measure and treatment.
I definitely recommend this product! Great value! I will repurchase.
I use to use this about a few years back, just for the heck of it or to dry out a few pimples. After a few applications it eventually dried out my pimples but it dried out my face as well! and left blotchy red spots. I continued to use this though until I became more aware of what I was putting on my body. I don't like the chemicals in hear maybe that's what was causing the reddness. I have used just pure clay and my face does not get itchy. It will still be red but that's normal with any mask. I rather just buy a pure mask with no additives than this.
This product is a little too harsh for my face. The first three times I put this mask on my face, it tingles and start to itch. I thought it was just working its magic, but after a while, I knew that something was up. When I cleanse it off, my face is red, raw and painful to touch.
But I didnt want to waste the product and tried to use it on my nose and to the sides of the nose because I have blackhead and big pores. I don't think this mask kill off the black head, but it does somewhat fades them away. Now, I only use it to spot treat my pimples. They dry those suckers pretty well, and it keep the puss from breaking at night while I sleep and travel else where on my face.
P.S. I have normal to dry skin, not flaky but feel very dry after cleansing and not moisturize. My skin is not particularly sensitive.
This stuff is amazing! It leaves my skin feeling like a baby's butt. I could see it reduced my acne and made it less reddish pink. This stuff is the classic green facial mask. I suggest putting cucumber slices on your eyes :P. when you put it on it feels cool and nice, and when you take it off, your skin feels refreshed. I slide an ice cube around my face after I take it off, just to seal my face. Love it
I really like this masque for my oily skin. The pros are that it's doesn't have a smell, it dries pretty fast. The cons are that the masque has a really thick consistency that makes it really hard for me to apply. I am buying this again. I can get over the cons.
When I use this masque, I can literally see the oils getting sucked from all of my pores. This masque is incredible. It dries out my acne in within ten minutes of using this masque.
It dries out my pimples
Calms my skin
Sucks out my oil
Doesn't make me breakout
Strong mint smell
I love this stuff! I was a little skeptical that something like this would work because I've tried other masks before and wasn't impressed, but this stuff is AMAZING!
I've been using this daily on my chin (I get terrible hormonal acne there) for a little over a week and the results are phenomenal! I noticed a difference immediately after the first use! I've been using it in conjunction with the Clinique Acne System Trio (I've used that for over a month and I'm not impressed) so I don't know if that is helping the mask along, but either way I'm happy!
It smells refreshing and minty at first but after it dries I can kind of detect the scent of sulfur in it, but it doesn't bother me at all as it's very slight. It's thick and creamy and there is a lot of product for the price!
I'd recommend this to anyone who has acne! I don't think it's too harsh for daily use on acne prone areas and I haven't experienced any discomfort or extra dryness because of it. GREAT PRODUCT!
It's decent, not great. It is good for the price though. It won't transform your skin permanently, but it does purify and smooth your complexion. Make sure to apply a moisturizer after you take it off.
So I've had this for a long time and am finally reviewing it. I have combination skin, oily t zone with dryer cheeks.. and have had some problems with acne. My skins better than it was a few years ago in terms of blemish control but I still get them often enough. One of the main problems I've had is with big painful headless pimples.. Every other topical acne treatment I've tried does NOTHING for those.. they just dry up the surface layer of skin.
This one however, I find, has worked wonders as a spot treatment big headless pimples. It's not a complete miracle worker but the fact that it really visibly works is enough for me.. and it's so cheap. This "mask" is very strong.. and it would be too drying to put on my whole face or any area not oily or affected by acne. So DO NOT put it all over your face.
What I do is cover the affected area/spot with this at night and sleep with it. The blemish usually goes down a decent amount in the morning, and i might do this again the next 2-3 nights until it's gone or comes to a head (and is able to be extracted). IT REALLY WORKS.. Otherwise those headless bumps will stay for a long time and/or never come to a head. I also may leave it on during the day if I'm just at home and then wash it off and do it again that night and sleep with it on.
When I first started out on my skin care journey I would put this on my T zone weekly, and then follow up with my normal routine, to help control oil.
Other comments, it's awesomely cheap.. 4-6 bucks for a big tub of it and you don't need to use a lot at a time. It's easy to spread and feels tingly and refreshing, definitely smells nice and minty. Will definitely re-buy if I ever run out but I still have practically the whole tub.. and would def suggest to others!
This mask has become a HG product in my skincare routine. I had never heard of it until a friend told me about it. When i spotted it at my local Walgreens, i snatched it up.
This stuff is awesome. I have acne prone skin and whenever I use it (once a week), I always notice immediate results. My skin looks and feels smoother. My pores are less noticeable. And the next morning my skin simply looks healthier and cleared up. I love the minty fragrance and I love how cool and refreshing it feels on my skin.
I definitely can't complain about the price. For only about 3 or 4 bucks, Mint Julep mask lasts a very long time.
