i was fortunate enough to receive this in a swap along with #8 fetish pink. this is definitely the more wearable of the two. nude beige is an opaque creamy mid-tone pink beige. i like my lipsticks to be on the sheer side so i apply this on my bottom lips then smack my lips together until they are evenly coated. i then apply a gloss on top. i find that mac's bare necessity dazzleglass looks beautiful with this. the l/s itself applies smoothly and has a slight sheen. it's very pigmented so you have the option of changing the opacity if you desire. i also like the fact that it has spf 15, a plus. the packaging is pretty heavy and somewhat decadent. i don't like the smell of these at all. it's a little too floral for my tastes. fortunately the smell goes away when you top it off with a gloss. i may repurchase this in the unlikely event that i run out and am unable to find a dupe for cheaper.
i really love the colour...really pretty pinkish nude ...really pigmented and moisurizing...its smells really godd too...really fresh and fruity....plus i love the tube, a little over the top but it really makes me happy...only bead thing is the price....
Beautiful, highly pigmented nude. Great smell - sort of melon-like and lovely. Works perfectly with a smokey eye! I'm usually not a nude lip person, but I love this product! It's expensive, but very high quality: it's moisturizing and very opaque. I love the gaudy packaging too :)
Wow this is a GORGEOUS nude colour, looks so pretty!! It would look super sexy with a smokey eye.. Definitely buy it!! It goes on smooth and like a dream. All I can continue saying is "wow". YSL makes the most amazing products, period.
Color: Super pigmented pink/nude - my least favorite color I've purchased - unfortunately, it looks super bright pink on me at times, but it'd definitely be a MLBB on some.
Formula: very greasy feeling going on (easy to over apply in relation to the pigmentation), the greasiness actually is drying to me - if I blot it it actually stays on like a dream& keeps my normally cracked/dry lips very comfortable! SPF 15
Packaging: Gold, heavy & lux! A cute lil mirror is on the top of the lid. You can see the color around a clear & YSL logo'd band around the middle - only negative is the label only has the number, not the name of the color.
Cost: EXPENSIVE $38 CND (+ 5% sales tax). continued >>
This line of lipsticks is lovely! They have such a unique texture; they glide on super light and silky. The pigmentation is very opaque without being heavy. Almost too opaque, but any problem with that can be solved by using a lip brush or blotting with your finger a bit.
I have four different shades, and this might be my favorite of the bunch. One of my favorite nudes right now... a pale pinky-nude with a touch of gray/mauve, that doesn't make me look dead. Although it's called Nude Beige, I don't see too much beige in it. It reminds me a bit of MAC Masque, but for some reason that particular color is too matte and concealer-like on me [NC25].
Although expensive, I'd definitely give this color a shot. The formula is so luxurious, and the tube is beyond beautiful! *PIC*
This is the perfect nude lippie I have been searching for! It is everything I hoped MAC Angel would be... but wasn't. It has the right balance of cool and warmth and seems to 'glow' on my lips. It goes on beautifully opaque and I don't mind the slight scent that seems to vanish minutes after I applied it. I live in a dry climate and my lips were very dry when I wore it last night. It seemed to be absorbed by my lips and become totally matte. However, it felt dry and uncomfortable the whole time. Next time I wear it I will apply a bit of balm before the lippie. This is my HG nude lip and I have already cleared my stash of all the nudes that didn't work for me.I wear it straight from the tube without lip liner. I'm a MAC NW 10 with platinum hair, and brown eyes.
UPDATE: Perfect nude shade lip for me. I don't know why I keep reading how creamy and long lasting it is on others. It literally dries up and disappears on me. My lips end up feeling dry and tight, 20 minutes after application and when I look in the mirror, the lipstick is GONE. Not much different than a MAC Lustre lipstick, at 3 times the price. I dropped it down from 5 to 3 lippies.
Paid S$42 which is quite expensive, considering that a MAC lipstick here goes for S$28.
Nude Beige reminds me of MAC's Hue - a soft pink-tinted beige with a hint of mauve. The color's very pretty and the lipstick does not accentuate flaky lips unlike MAC's; in fact it's a little too moisturising and seems to come off easily unless you set it with powder. There's some scent which I don't like.
Packaging wise, it comes in a gold case with a mirror at the top. Looks a little flashy but not tacky as I'd feared.
Overall, a nice buy but a tad expensive.
Lucky me (I think!). After reading all the raves on this product - YSL's Rouge Volupte - and also seeing it in Oprah's magazine, I raced to Nordstrom to check it out.
My local Nordstrom was already out of some of the colors! So I got #9 (Pink Caress) and ordered #3 (Ultimate Beige). More on those later! Anyway, the clerk also gave me a very cool sample set that included samples of Rouge Volupte in #1, 8, 10, and 17. This sample set even includes a lip brush!
So, this review is supposed to be about #1, Nude Beige. You had better be sure you want nude, if you go with this one. Sure, the buttery-soft texture is there, and it's great. But the color is sooo pale. They must include a white pigment, a fair amount of it, in the mix to get it like that. It's definitely too pale for me. It makes me look ill.
I am going to be experimenting with these colors and also with the YSL lip pencil I bought as well (no wonder she gave me samples!). I'll be posting more reviews!
See my review of shade #9, Pink Caress, for a happy rave! (When I get around to writing it.)
The reason I stated I wouldn't buy this again is that I would never buy this color in the first place - too pale altogether.
When I swatched these new lipsticks at the counter, I was instantly sold on the texture and packaging. I decided on #1 Nude Beige which on my hand looked like a nude pink with a little touch of beige. After I got home and applied straight from the tube, I was so disappointed at the color!! It was beige with mauve and gray undertones and maybe a hint of pink, which was just wrong against my NC30 skin. Even concealer lips looked better than that! But since I paid $55AUD for it, I was determined to make it work. So I tried it with MAC Subculture Lipliner underneath, applied the lipstick with a brush and it was transformed into a slightly cool toned pinky beige, and very natural looking. It looked even better with some clear gloss on top.
This particular color takes a bit of effort for me to make it work, but I love the formula. So I will definitely try more colors in the future.
