WOW! I never even considered buying this brush despite the rave reviews...simply because I couldn't justify spending so much on a brush that I didn't really need. For years I have been applying my foundation or tinted moisturiser with my hands and thought I was doing fine.
I put some foundation onto my hand and gentley dip my 187 into it swirling it around. I then stipple the foundation onto my face and then buff it in with small circular motions. Honestly, my foundation looked flawless, like I had amazingly airbrushed skin. I then applied my bronzer with a kabuki brush and then buffed it in with the 187...it welded it into my skin and made it look so flawless. Not to mention it feels like heaven on the face, really soft and doesn't irritate the skin whatsoever. I've had some slight shedding but nothing major so far.
If you use foundation - get this brush! Yes it's pricey but you can use it for foundation/tinted moisturiser/blush/bronzer...it's so versatile and will last you a good while if you take care of it properly.

If you wear foundation, blush, bronzer, powder- you need this brush. Yes, the price is steep but since it's so versatile, I believe it is worth every penny. You may prefer the 188 (smaller version of the 187) depending on your needs. I would suggest seeing both in person.
I've only owned it for about a week and i'm already in love. I use it for powders and brushes, and oh does it make a big difference! You can never apply too much product using this brush, and i used to have a bit of a problem in that area.
What i also love about it is how soft it is and how great it feels on skin, i could spend all day stroking my face with it, lol.
It hasn't shed a single hair yet and i hope it won't.
Now the down side - it's really pricey and i'd prefer it to go with a case. Still i love it and it makes me want more and more MAC brushes :D

if i can only own one brush, this would be the brush without second thoughts. the price is a little steep but well, it's mac! it is so versatile, you can use it for skincare, foundation, powder, blush.. and best of all, it gives the airbrushed effect! absolutely a must have brush!
I only use loose mineral foundations, blushes, bronzers, highlighters and such, which are tricky to handle with regular powder and blush brushes. With a regular brush it's very easy to pick up too much pigment at a time, so you need to be very careful and very patient to make them work because it takes ages to achieve perfect application. Now that's why I'll bite your arm off if you so much as touch my MAC 187 stipplers. Grrr! ;) It picks up so little product and applies it so evenly I can almost do all but my eye and lip makeup with my eyes shut. Accidentally applying foundation too heavily is virtually impossible with this brush. Even the more pigmented blushes are easy to apply and the nearly glittery ones show up as a soft glow. And what's best, the 187 is so soft that even my thin and sensitive skin doesn't mind buffing with it every day. I'm sure it's a handy brush for anyone, but anyone who's into mineral make-up is sure to appreciate it even more.
At first when i bought this i don't even know why i took this and after using it i finally know all the goodness that this brush brings!!it's not only for foundation, u can use it to apply your skincare and everything,it's so useful!!!!
OMG I am officially converted! The fresh glowy look I love is so much easier to achieve with this brush. I am in LURRRVE... Its so soft and nice to brush on your face. Only complaint is a few hairs have shed, I am assuming this will happen with the first couple of uses though, and then stop completely. Will update if not. EXPENSIVE by the way, $85 Australian. ARRGH! But I love it , and would pay it again. Highly recommend it.

I bought my first brush from MAC just two days back and im glad i made a wise decision! I was first a bit skeptical about it since i have never been to a MAC store and never tried their products...
This is a magical brush......it has done magic on my face lol
This brush cost me a fortune ($45) but it was totally worth it....I was using makeup forever brush before to put my estee equalizer...But i always felt i was painting my face since that one was a flat brush!
After hearing millions of good reviews about this one i finally thought i would buy it....and i am very happy i did...
First of all it makes my foundation look ultra gorgeous on my face...gives me a very very neat finish and i feel i have no makeup on!
Secondly, with this brush you just need about 1 or 1 1/2 pumps of your foundation and your ready to go...i had to squeez 3 to 4 pumps previously with my flat brush and even after that it left brush-streaks on my face which looked sad!
Though i would like to add that I didnt know how to use this brush but i got the hang of it by watching 3 to 4 videos on youtube (julieg713) and they were very helpful!!
I use this brush with my liquid foundation ...and truly it works wonders!! This brush might look a bit big to cover eye area but personally speaking...it reached right from the corners of my eye to the corners of my nose because it is very soft brush yet densely packed together to give a smooth finish!!
If u have any foundation lying at home of no use...get this BRUSH....it can make the most thickest foundation look sheer and neat!! And its totally multipurpose- use it for liquids, creams, powders etc etc....! I would give this brush a 100 on 100 and will run to the mac counter to get one more of it since i prefer using two brushes for liquids and powders seperately !
UPDATE: This brush totallly rocks...the more i use it, the more i love it!
And i make sure i maintain it well coz if you dont...it wont last longer!
I have recieved few compliments on how great my skin looks only coz of this brush and the strobe liquid...These are the first two products EVER i bought from MAC...and they've wrked wonders:)
So im researching on more MAC products (fixers, eyeshadows & liners) on MUA...looks like i will soon turn into a MAC junkie lol

Love this brush! It can be used with a variety of different products. Liquids, powders, blushes, etc...I got mine around the holidays when MAC puts their brushes in the Holiday gift sets. I got 5 face brushes for $45...the normal cost of this brush alone is more than that!
MAC #187 is my favorite brush! No doubt about it. I use it to apply my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish or other finishing powder. It can also be used when applying very pigmented blushes. When I apply my MAC MSF with this brush the result looks almost airbrushed. The brush deposits color and powder very lightly, you could never get a "cakey" look after using this brush. That is why I absolutely love this brush.
The only downside with this brush is the expensive price but in my opinion, after having used it on a daily basis for several months now, it's worth every penny! The quality is fantastic. It does not shed at all and looks just like new even-though I've used it frequently. I would definitely repurchase!
