This is the brush of my dreams. Not that I dream of brushes >.< but you get what I mean. I go through phases of make up. Sometimes I use my liquid foundation regularly. This brush makes my liquid foundation go on like a dream. If I'm not using it for that I use it for my blushers. I've always been jealous of those people who look like they have their blusher airbrushed on. With this brush I can achieve that exact effect given I don't put too much blush on.
It's easy to maintain and very easy to use. I love it :)
WOW liquid foundation looks flawless with this brush!!!
Awesome brush! I use the full size brush to apply my foundation and powder and my makeup looks absolutely flawless...i purchased the Adoring Carmine face brush set and it came with the SE size and I use that one for my blush application and contouring and it works like a dream. Both of these brushes are must haves and eliminates all those other countless brushes the MA's claim that you need...All you really need in my opinion are these for your face and the 239 and 217 for your eyes and your all set......
so so so soft~~applies powder foundation + blush (powder, cream and liquid) like a dream. i dont use liquid foundation so i cant vouch for that one, but i imagine it would apply just as smoothly as with my powder foundation. the handle's a good length too. my only complaint is that it does shed a couple of short hairs now and again, and the funny smell (which has been diminishing with cleaning) but gets annoying sometimes when im trying to buff foundation on my nose or something. i think its a great investment (AUD$85) o how much i wish this came with a pouch, then i could take it with me everywhere!
So after reading all the wonderful reviews on this brush obsession set in and I HAD to have it lol. I got one of those SE brush kits from nordstroms that came with like 4 other brush for about fifty bux which is pretty cool considering that its 42 bux for just the one. ANYWAYS lol I tried using it for liquid foundation that worked out pretty nicely but I wanted to see what else I could do with it. Then for a period of time I used it as a blush brush which ALSO worked nicely and im currently using it as like a powder brush which also works nicely :)
the only thing Im not too happy about is when i wash the brush black dye comes out and sometimes during the dying process the white bristle get some on the black on them :( and there is a little shedding but just about everything shed. I mean we lose one or two hairs every now and then too lol
This is a pretty decent brush. I blow dryed mine to dry it faster (huge mistake) so mine is a little ruined, i will buy the holiday brush set to get another one though. this brush it good for applying liquid foundation but you might need somethign else to blend it with
If you are wondering if you should get this brush because of the hefty price tag, i would say defienatly get it because it is the one brush that without fail I use everyday and it's a great brush overall. The only problem i have is that it is exoensive but it is more than worth it! :D

This is a review for the gold SE 187 brush. I had been reading amazing reviews for the 187 brush for ages, and I'd always wanted to buy it except it was so expensive. I also didn't like that the handle was so long-- I wanted a small one to put in my makeup bag. I was often tempted to purchase 187 knock-offs, but I always thought that it might be a disappointment, and it would then be money wasted.
I managed to find the shorter handled SE brush (5" in length) online from an ebay retailer-- it IS authentic, so I haven't had any complaints! (I also managed to get it a bit cheaper than it would've been if I bought it in stores, so that's always a plus). It applies my mineral makeup like a dream. I like sheer coverage, and this applies the mineral foundation sheerly, while giving my skin an airbrushed appearance, without looking fake or too heavy.
I washed it once, and I did see some black dye leech from the bristles, which I expected. It rinsed out fairly easily, and when it dried it retained it's normal shape. I haven't had any issues with shedding, and I find this brush very soft, so I'm quite satisfied with this brush!
Since I've never owned a 'regular' 187 brush, I can't compare the two. But, if you want your makeup to be applied sheer, and give you a great finish, this is the brush to try!
Totally love this brush. The full size version is the best compared to 187SE, 188, or similar brushes from other brands (like laura mercier or pout). Just go for a full size, save money, use it to apply foundations, blushes, highlighters...This would be the brush without second thoughts to die for if you can only have one brush :)
This review is for the 187 SE (from the 2007 collection...it has a gold handle). I know a lot of people say they don't like the SE brushes, but this is one of my favorite brushes!! I haven't had any problem with it shedding and the brush stopped bleeding dye after the first wash.
Originally I wanted to buy the regular 187, but I really hate long handled brushes and was searching for a short handled stippling brush. When I saw the gold SE collection, I was really excited and immediately jumped at the chance. When I got the 187 SE i was surprised because the brush part was smaller than I had expected (its in between a 187 and 188). But it has actually turned out to be the perfect size for me! I mostly use it to dust on a tiny bit of my Fyrinnae Rice Powder and i'll occasionally use it for a wet application of mmu. oh and it works great to buff out excess powder/blush.
The brush is super soft and it is the perfect size for people who like shorter handle brushes!!
