I love vaseline, its one of this things that everyone needs, this stuff literally saves me in winter when my skin is all flaky, i just whip a bit on before bed and in the morning the flakes are gone.
Also lovethe price and the fact it can be used on almost anything!
Of course ill be buying again, though in our house i think we have one in every room already!

I love Vaseline! I used it ever since I was young. I use it carry a small squeeze tub in my backpack for scrapes and cuts but now I use it on my lips mostly. A great product to have around.
I have this in the big jar and I usually use this mainly on my lips, eyes and sometimes, my eyelashes. This is really great on moisturising my lips and eyes, especially when they are really dry! I apply this a thick layer on the lips and eye area before going to the bed and wakeup with a nice full moisturised lips ( I already have full lips but they are dry!) :)
When your lips are well moisturised, it is plump and full at its best.
I prefer to use some oils on my eyelashes than this though.
This is a MUST-HAVE product! I'm speechless if anyone doesn't have this at home. haha*
I never thought I'd re-discover the ancient jar of Vaseline I had in my medicine cabinet, but I'm very happy I did! I recently switched to Stila's Lash Visor for mascara, which is great but it's really waterproof. The Aveda make up remover I was using just wasn't working (since it's oil free and this mascara NEEDS an oil based remover to get it off). I had to rub my eyes raw to get it all off. I was about to spend $23 on a bottle of Vincent Longo remover but I thought, hey, I'm in a pinch, I'll try some vaseline....sooooo happy I did! It completely dissolved my mascara and did not burn or irritate my eyes (as most eye makeup removers seem to do with me). Should I mention it's super moisturizing? No traces of eye makeup, no irritation, soft skin afterward and it's like $3 a jar which will last a very long time! Forget ridiculously expensive removers, I'm sticking with my vaseline.

Nothing beats Vaseline for itchy, stinging, red, flaky skin, especially around the eye area. Actually, mix Vaseline + hydrocortisone cream and you should be healed overnight.

You can use this for EVERYTHING! Makeup base, makeup remover, face, feet hands, elbows and knees moisturizer (or rather to keep the moisture on your skin) and as a lipbalm. everybody should have some of this. also if you have a ring that is stuck on your finger you could put vaseline on it and it would come off fast.

Ok, I guess I'm on my own with this review but Vaseline is the WORST moisturizer. It's just thick and GREASY as all hell. God forbid you touch something with your Vaseline moisturized hands.......it ruins everything. I always had a tub of it in my house, my mom uses it for her lips but she's forever reapplying. It dries out so quick and it feels absolutely disgusting on the lips. I can not stand Vaseline/petroleum jelly.

Here's a tip to help remove eye make-up: rub Vaseline onto your eyes (perfect for waterproof mascara) and lips. Then take a flat cotton pad, and put one pump of Cetaphil cleansing lotion onto it. Wipe the Vaseline from your eye lids and lips with the cotton pad, and your make-up is GONE. It leaves a light layer of Vaseline behind, which is great for the moisture anyway!
This is hands-down the best eye make-up remover. Good luck, ladies!

OK, I will admit this has a variety of good uses as described by the other reviewers. But as an esthetician I want to inform everyone what petroleum jelly actually does. This product does not moisturize. It is an occlusive product, which means that it prevents water from evaporating out of the skin by forming a layer of protection through which moisture cannot pass. It does not penetrate the skin, it only coats it. This process can help to prevent chapping and moisture loss, which can indirectly result in softer-feeling skin. My recommendation for use would be to apply your favorite non-petroleum moisturizer first, let it sink in for a minute, then apply the Vaseline on top. This will seal in the benefits of whatever you use beforehand. This would work especially well at night, when our skin loses the most moisture.
