I like to apply this with brush rather then sponge. When I apply with even a new doing this causes me breakouts not sure why.
Thought it was fab, until I tried Mineralise Skin Finish powder. Studio fix is quite chalky and tends to accentuate and gather fine lines.
Wow, what took me so long to try this? I have normal/combo skin and this lasts all day on me. I use a moisturizer (coconut oil), then blot with a tissue, add a primer, concealer and top with this, applied with an angled kabuki brush. Gives a beautiful even finish that lasts and doesn't break me out or change colour (on me anyways). Looks less powdery than my mineral makeup too, which is quite impressive, and lasts longer too. I do recommend getting colour matched at the counter if you can. Online swatches are so hard to go by. I thought I'd be an NC30 but it's too pale for summer, so I also got NC42 which works better for when I'm tan. Still kicking myself for not giving this a go years ago...
I really love this product, especially for night time and special events. I have really oily skin and this seems to last and keeps my skin really matte for a long time which I like. My skin is extremely acne-prone and sensitive and I didn't find that this broke me out at all which is a big PLUS in my books. The colour range is really great too, I have one shade for my winter skin and another for when I'm more tanned and they both match me really well. The only thing I dislike about this product is the packaging - I dont like that it comes with a little sponge because I find that it applies very cakey when using it, I prefer to use a brush which makes it flawless.
I like the coverage, great coverage for a powder but it makes me break out. I thought it may have been a dirty sponge but I replaced it. Also broke out with a MAC foundation so its just not for me. If it didn't cause me to break out I would recommend due to coverage.
This is my first and only MAC product and I'm very happy with it. It gives very good coverage for a powder. I use this with a soft, angled face brush which gives great precision; I go lightly over my dry areas and get extra coverage on my oily/red zones. Being able to find a light, neutral shade is great too, N4 is a really good match. This has pretty much turned me off liquid foundations, this is so much quicker, neater, feels lighter and easily lasts 6-8 hours. I find that the coverage somewhat wears off, but I still don't get any shine, This is a foundationt I can see myself going back to over and over again. I'm very happy to have found a fool proof product that gets the job done quickly. Forget foundation "routines"; I moisturize, a little concealer here&there, buff Mac Studio Fix Powder all over, done in less than 5 minutes!
I love this, it really is one of the powder foundations that is great for its price. What I love about this product is first the coverage, it can be light, to medium, to full, depending on the brush and how you apply it. I use the real techniques buffing brush that comes from the core collection most days for medium coverage. Second thing i love is how fast it is for me to apply, it takes less than a minute and I am done. Third thing is the packaging, it is great for traveling, i travel a lot and it is important that i have a good foundation that is small and won't destroyed in my luggage or any bag. Fourth is that it doesn't break me out. I have been using it for 2 and a half years and I find it great for those of you who are on the acne.org regimen like me, because somehow with the combo skin (more dry than oily because of the benzoyl peroxide) this foundation doesn't make my skin look cakey like some other liquid foundations did and makes my skin look flawless. So here is what i dislike, which is that it doesn't last all day, I'm not saying i look horrible by 8 pm but my skin gets very shiny and I am constantly blotting my face every time I go into the restroom. It is not very water resistant, so i wouldn't use it when swimming or working out. I think that is where bare minerals excels in comparison. However i can over look these minor flaws and will continue to purchase. And one more thing, i pick this over bare mineral because of the choice of colors and bc it doesn't make my skin itch.
this is the best foundation i have owned , its a bit pricey but worth it, you can dust this on sheer or build for a full coverage, it is great for my skin, liquid foundation i have a horrible time getting the coverage i need without it making my pores more visible & its easy & fast & comes in so many shade ranges i have NW25 i think its a bit too dark so going a bit lighter next time, but anyhow i recommend it ! :)
I love this product!! And definitely recommend it to all those who need a medium to full coverage and have oily/combination skin.
I've used this product for 4 years now! I think the formula has gotten better over the years. Or it could be getting matched perfectly - (There's NW, NC, C colours so make sure you get matched properly, it is key!)
I have acne prone skin, scars and get very oily around my t zone and this product is perfect! Although my nose gets a little bit oily after about 5hrs, nothing a blotting sheet can't fix, the foundation stays on. It has a medium to full coverage and is not cakey and makes my skin look flawless. I've used Make Up Forever and Estee Lauder's powders but the coverage for those two brands can not compete as a full foundation alone, they are better as a setting powder IMO.
I use this foundation everyday and it usually lasts me for about 6 months.
This is my holy grail!
I got this is NW45 although I think NC50-55 would have been my shade. As you walk into the Mac store that the first colour the pop onto you.
Good coverage in the foundation, very matte and it applies well. Oxidizes a bit and doesnt really match me then but if I had the right shade I think it would have worked well.
I will not repurchase this and will try MSFN instead.
