I was shade-matched years ago by a Mac girl and I never came back. I think she seriously didn't know how to shade match. The first color she tried on me looked so orange on me and she said it looked good. Where do they get these people? I had to tell her it was too orange so she tried again. I got matched for NW40 and it looks good at first application but it oxidizes like crazy when I get oily in hot and humid days and it just looks muddy at the end of the day. I hate it. And I think I'm more NC40. I didn't know any better back then. But I'll never buy this foundation again due to the oxidation.

I'm so excited - MAC finally brought this out in NW10 here in Australia. I purchased this because unfortunately Estée Lauder have changed their Double Wear formula and my shade is way too yellow now. The finish isn't as matte as Double Wear and you would need to re-apply powder if you're like me and get an oily T-zone after about an hour. It also, IMO, is not as long-lasting as Double Wear. However, I am willing to put up with this because I am just that relieved to have found a decent foundation that is pale enough for my seriously PPP skin. 3.5/5 (I rounded up)

I brought this in NW13 and it is almost perfect.. it blends with my complexion and gives me an evened look. The smell is weird but it did not bother me I think its fragrance free. The cap is a little messy and I hate how the foundation can tend to stick on the top but the coverage is certainly optimal. Almost perfect ..just a little on my pinkey does it for me. It irritates under my eyes sometimes on the other hand it reduces my eye circles pretty good and overall the coverage is better than a lot of other foundations I used before. It lightens up my face and reflects light without any visible amounts of glitter wich I find impressive. Whenever I apply this my skin always looks porcelain. This did not oxidize on me and it didn't feel cakey just- fluid like. The finish with this is matte and kind of satiny. I'd suggest asking a salesperson to help you if you're uncertain about wich color to get. The saleswoman with me was very helpful.

I have combination-oily skin & have been wearing this foundation for 4 years now (I've been too lazy to explore new products) but I'm officially done with this! I've always worn this foundation with a primer underneath & then set it with powder but even so, I find myself blotting throughout the day.

PROS:
- Buildable full coverage foundation: you don't need to use any concealer, if you don't have really dark blemishes or under eye circles to conceal
- Easy to blend
- Non comedogenic (won't break you out)

CONS:
- Not long wearing at all: on oily skin, this will last around 2-3 hrs until it looks obviously greasy & you have to start blotting then re-powdering
- Feels quite heavy on your face
- Horrible in summer for combination-oily skin as it will "sweat" or "melt" off throughout the day no matter how many times you blot & re-powder
- Will oxidise with oily skin & appear more orangey

*For those who have normal skin, this might be the perfect foundation but you ..but for my fellow combination-oilies, don't waste your time or money & STAY AWAY! continued >>

It smells like rubber, and it feels like rubber on my skin. It's too thick and looks cakey. I've been using it as a concealer so far. The packaging requires you to screw-open the lid and dump the product out. It's makes it hard to control the amount of product coming out. Sometimes the product stays on the inside of the lid, which makes it unsanitary.

I loved this foundation for years. The coverage was really beautiful and medium-full, depending on my application method. I had a slight problem with the colors, because I’m NW15 in almost every other MAC product, and this in NW15 was just slightly darker than all of my other NW15 products. It was fine during the sunnier months, but in winter, it was somewhat noticeable, no matter how much blending I did. (They didn’t offer/have the NW10 or NW13 last time I bought it.) It did also oxidize like mad, and was a bit orange under most lighting after 4-6 hours. Now, for why I no longer wear it – I started wearing it when I was 16 after being introduced to MAC mostly through concealer reviews. I figured since I already wore a lot of MAC products, using their foundation was just a natural choice. I really didn’t have much acne before I started wearing this product – a blackhead here or there, maybe a whitehead every few months. I had no idea what cystic acne was until I was 18, long after puberty and all of that. From 18 to 22, I rarely went a week without a cyst popping up somewhere, and they were extremely painful, and difficult to hide. I ended up using more products, and spending more money, to try to hide (and clear up) all the problem areas. It wasn’t until my fiancé, now husband, pointed out that it seemed to him like my worst break-outs were only a day or two after wearing foundation, that I decided to look it up and found out that some MAC foundations are kind of known for this problem. I stopped using it for a while, and surprise surprise, my skin got 80% clearer within a few weeks. I LOVE MAC products, and if this foundation works for everyone else, that’s awesome – but for me, it was not good. Without all of the acne problems, this probably would have been a 4-lippie foundation for me. I really don’t know what ingredient it is that my skin reacts to, but I’ve used a TON of different face products, especially over the last year, and none have caused anything like that. I understand that it’s supposed to be a “special occasion” foundation, for stage-wear and photography, but even just wearing it for 4 hours every month was enough to cause problems for me, (and don’t forget the orangeness!) so that doesn’t fly. I still use MAC concealer (Studio Finish NW15) and MAC powder (Select Sheer Pressed in NW5 in the winter, NW15 in the summer), along with MAC blushes, MSFs, bronzers, shadows, lipsticks, etc. I’ve been using Revlon foundations now for almost two years. My acne is almost completely gone. I probably won’t try another MAC foundation unless they come out with something extremely new and different.

I can't even being to explain how much I LOVE this foundation!! It seriously was love at first sight (/application) haha. I'm somewhere between fair and medium with yellow undertones and I wear NC25, it matches my skin almost perfectly! It gives full coverage and hides belmishes, which I'm very thankful for! The only one downside (beside the bottle that comes without a pump :c ) is that you need to be careful with how much you put on your face, if you put just a tiny bit too much, you'll end up looking funny. Anyhow, I'm at me 3rd bottle at the moment and I will countinue using it for long long time, as it seems atm ^.^ Love it!

I have been using BB cream (which I really loved) in the winter but noticed as it got warmer my skin was too oily so I decided to change over to an oil friendly foundation.

Well I was suggested nc20 for my colour, and I was suspicious because it was so SO yellow compared to my bb cream.

I have in my opinion slight yellow and olive undertones. The first time I put it on I didn't use a primer and put it on too thick, MY GOD it looked horrible. I looked like a simpsons character it was so yellow, it was also uneven and cakey. I washed it off, moisturised liberally and primed, then patted it on very carefully. It looked a lot better, and not yellow at all. The yellow tones seemed to blend nicely with my skin neutralising the redness in my face.
After about 5 hrs I noticed a little oil, I always use blotting tissues though and it was less oily than my bb cream.

This says it builds to full coverage but IMO it is not suitable for that because it seems to be designed to blend with skin tones rather than a blanket over colour, and too much will make the colour horrible. If you want better coverage use a finishing powder.

I need something like this in summer because I have oily skin and scars to cover, so it works well and I will use the bottle. But when it gets cold again I will go back to my BB skin 79.

OH one other bonus, the yellowness really neutralises my dark circles (genetic) and I use a highlighter over the top to finish. Works better than the ashy bb cream in this way.
(I gave package quality a 4 because I had to buy the pump, otherwise it is nice)

EDIT: Ok so I have been trying this product for a while annnnnndddd it sucks. I am used to wearing a bb cream (skin 79 pink) and just changed because of summer etc. SO this product leaves my skin oilier than the BB!! I use only a minimal amount because of the yellowness, and set it with a powder, then 2 hrs later it is alwaaaayyyys oily! Also my skin just looks dull, it doesn't like being smothered in that stuff everyday, definitely not an everyday foundation. I also have rolling scars (mild) down the outer corner of one side of my face, and this product made them stand out! I look better without it! I have bought skin79 orange and this is my second day testing. It is a lot better and "drier" than the pink, but I will write a separate review after 1 month to be sure.

Overall rating of 5 because its an amazing product on my combination skin. Price was cheaper than other high end foundations but not drugstore cheap so I gave it a 3. Only problem I have with the product is pouring it out. It won't come out of the bottle! I guess I have to buy the pump but, I've been using the end of one of my brushes to get some product out. I would buy this product again. I love it on my skin. The only foundation that I have found to match my skin tone perfectly. I am NC40.
