I will never understand the hype surrounding this product. I usually use Clinique acne solutions makeup, but I ran out of it and it's a 45 minute drive to the nearest place that carries it, so I picked up a bottle of this until I could order my preferred product. The packaging sucked, it was next to impossible to only pour a small amount. The product itself was entirely too thick. I felt like I was wearing a mask, and couldn't blend it to save my life. It didn't match my skin at all, it left my skin looking ghostly and dull. It also made me more oily than usual even with a primer. After about three days of use I was starting to get breakouts. As soon as my Clinique order came in I tossed this in the garbage where it belongs. I will gladly pay three times the cost if I can avoid another disaster like this.
Perfect dupe for Macs SFF NC 40, in this foundation I'm a 340 Early Tan. I purchased this at Walgreens during their BOGO 1/2 which runs 12.99 each & with the the deal its under $10 each. Perfect for every day & does not clog my pores (cystic acne). This is my go to foundation for every day use. I just transfer the fluid to my mac sff container for the convenience of the pump.
so its a really populart one isnt it? but for oily skin is it good?
this foundation is very long lasting? - yes lasts me upto 14 hours. not 24 hours LOL.
it has fourmula for oily skin and is matte. so it does not look cakey.
does not tranfer from skin to other materials. so u wudnt leave a foundation spot on ur bf's shirt :p (embarassing) :p
cheap but good product- its inexpensive :D not like the MAC OR CHANEL stuff.
IT DOES NOT Break me out :D wohooo_!
cons- arrite i had a really hard time with this foundation when i was about to buy it. my shade? for mac is nc44. and sometimes during the seasons i turn nc 42. and i was confused between toast and caramel. then finally bought toast and also golden caramel. mixed them at times. but i would say people between nc42-nc44 toast is the one for you guys coz colorstay is buildable and even if u feel its a bit light u can just apply more.
another bad side is that u need to get used to applying this product.
it dries real fast and u need to put it on one side of your face first. and finish that part.
u can also use a concealer if the toast is not covering the darker spots. i use concealer and thanks to GOD I dont hav undereye circles or anything. just acne blemishes.
i would recomment u all to just hit the drugstores and take along ur current foundation wit you. and match that with the colourstay. another tip would be.. go to this website its helpful and accurate . its findation, com
how to apply the product?
1) cleanse your face with a good facewash to get rid of the oilyness and dirt.
2) use a light weight non oily moisturizer.
3) use a primer. mattifying primers are good for oily skin.
4) yay u are not ready for foundation. apply the colourstay on one part of your cheek and complete it with a brush .
5) as it dried fast complete one face part first and then continue the other parts of the face.
6) set the face with a powder. i use mac mineralize skinfinish powder. and sometimes covergirl powders.
that it. ur done ! go hit the town :) and always wear your smile , stay confident. smile is the best jewelery for any woman:)

I've been using this a few days now and I can honestly say its the best DS foundation I've ever used. The Golden Beige is perfect for my (currently) NC30-NC35 skin and my oily areas have only needed touching up twice today, which is a record for me. My other foundations have normally partly disappeared, become mottled or look an oily/powdery mess after just a few hours during the warm weather. I cannot believe my make-up still looks fresh at 11.40! The coverage can be built up gradually and looks great. All it lacks is a pump as it is messy to use. I feel I am being unfaithful for now trying the Boots No. 7 matte foundation in Deeply Beige which I was matched to today, but I need to know if Colorstay's performance can be matched!
Just what I was looking for for the summer months. I have very oily skin and foundation normally just slides off me. I love my mineral powder but it doesn't give me enough coverage when my skin is problematic (the odd spot, pigmentation etc). I actually like the mask-like effect this foundation gives me - I've matched it to my skin tone very well (Golden Beige for my light olive skin with a slight tan) and it looks great. I've had to experiment with applying it as it is very thick eg. it showed up all the pores on my nose so I then rubbed in a little primer on top of it just in the nose area until it looked okay then set very, very lightly with translucent powder to get the look I wanted. Takes a little work but it is worth the effort.
For anyone with bad acne and not a lot of money - definitely give this a try.
This is my HG foundation for my skin type for the fact that the color is good, the staying power for oily skin is fantastic, and it has enough coverage if patted on with a sponge in trouble areas that you don't need concealer - so while those with clear skin might find it a bit cakey, girls like myself with oily acne prone skin can skip the concealer and pat on a layer of this for near flawless skin.
the only pro about this product is the buildable coverage, it makes me oily, rubs off, the color selection kinda sucks well i had 310 warm golden and it was too light and kinda pink undertoned, i liked how it blended, but i expected the longetivity to late longer, it lasts like 5-6 hours, and i get oily in 45mins-1hr so that sucks. i've used this for one year it has only lasted me long because i dont use it everyday. but i do often
I bought this in golden beige and can I just say this shade has very obvious pink undertones! My face looked really pink and coverage wise, it does has medium coverage but the colour selection is just not working out for me.. as I tend to gravitate more towards foundation with yellow undertones. Plus it does not make your face look like 'skin' as it looks really thick. I would give it a 2.5 or so actually. However, if you like that 'flawless look' you can give this a go, and if you don't mind the pink undertones.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS!! I ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ this foundation. The price I usually find it at is about $9-$10 depending on we're I go. It come with the standard 1 oz of product but I go through makeup really fast so it tends to only last me a couple months. I am a mac nw20 and I'm in the shade buff but its a bit light. It blends like a dream but can easily looked caked on. Last on my oily skin for about 4 hours before getting dewy not oily but the coverage is still there. Doesn't come with a pump :( which is the only complaint. Many say it dries to fast but I don't have that problem. I am on my 3 bottle and am DEFINITELY going to repurchase.
I used to like this foundation back in the day. I do think it broke me out sometimes. And was never something I wore I a regular basis. Only if I was very broken out it for a special occasion. I just wanted to WARN anyone who is allergic to SALICYLIC ACID like I am that try have changed the formula and added it to it. I saw it at target the other day and thought about buying some for info ever need it for a bad breakout day etc. and read the ingredients invade and sure enough they've changed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
