I'm in love with these pencils. Milk is the most versatile. I can use it under any shadow (and over UDPP) to make it more true to colour than it would be without this as a base. I have a few other colours which, when used under corresponding e/s colours, make them more vibrant.
For everyone who's been having trouble with sharpening, I grabed a sharpener from LA colours that has a regular-sized hole and a hole that fits these Jumbo pencils, and it works amazing! By far the best sharpener I've ever used, and it works for all pencils.
I get a lot of my NYX stuff from porkdaisy.com and beautyjoint.com. Discounted from retail prices and they don't kill you with shipping charges, especially in North America.
After seeing all the rave reviews on this, I knew I needed to try it but NYX has only recently become a bit easier to obtain in the UK.
I finally got my hands on one - and I'm so glad I did.
I use it over the top of my TFSI because it does crease on me if I don't put something a bit more durable underneath it.
I don't use it as a 'primer' in the sense that I want it to make my eyeshadow last longer - I use it as a neutral base to make my eyeshadow colours pop and it does an absolutely fantastic job at this.
The only con to this is, whilst the jumbo pencils are available from a few online retailers in the UK now, it took me FOREVER to hunt down a sharpener. I've just got my hands on one, but had to order it from the USA which was a bit of a pain!
Will definately repurchase if I ever run out but I'm not really interested in trying any of the other colours as white works just fine for what I need!
Great product! Definitely worth buying. This product works great as a base for eyeshadows (instead of applying the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer) or as a highlight for the inner corner of the eyes. Easy to apply.
Great product for the price. Very pigmented and easy to blend. Great tool to have on hand, makes any eyeshadow color POP. Havent gotten to the point where I need to sharpen it yet, but I imagine there will be a lot of wasted product because the casing is plastic. Otherwise, will always repurchase.
I have such mixed feelings. On one hand, I love the versatility, the price, the fact that this product is richly pigmented but totally matte. On the downside, I find it too greasy to use around my eyes except right under the eyebrow--it's fine there. I tried it over an eye primer and for lower wetlining. After a few hours my eyes felt very filmy and the greasy filmy feeling didn't go away even after washing my face. I guess greasiness is the tradeoff for the lovely creamy texture and blendability.
I've watched the depotting videos, looks like a lot of trouble. I had a chubby lip pencil I loved (plastic casing just like the NYX), and when I sharpened it, I separated the product from the casing strip, saved it in a tiny jar, and used a brush. No waste, and no mess of depotting. I would repurchase, in fact have bought a second one, maybe it will feel less greasy in cooler months.
HG makeup product - this is of the most versatile products in my makeup bag! Nyx's chubby pencils are very soft and super pigmented, and their "Milk" pencil is no different. It blends easily, has good coverage and is buildable without turning into a chalky messs.
Since I'm a dancer and a performer, I use this pencil for a lot of things. It can do the following:
1. Act as a base for eyeshadow - It really makes colors "pop" if you blend it over your eyelid before adding eyeshadow on top. I'd "pat" the eyeshadow on with a brush because Milk is not the easiest thing to blend over. (I always wear a good primer underneath, by the way; I'm not sure how well this pencil works as a primer by itself.)
2. Act a highlighter, especially for your brow bone but also for other parts of your face if need be. (I highlight the bridge of my nose, my cheekbones and my lip's cupid's bow for formal events and performances.) I can literaly 'draw' a few strokes of this over parts of my face and blend it into my skin with my finger. It's a super easy, super quick way to highlight anything on your face.
3. Helps you change the color of your eyebrows. As weird as this sounds, if you smudge this white pencil into your brows, you can then go over it with a lipliner, eyeliner or a pigmented eyeshadow to change your brows into another color. I do this when I have to wear wigs or some elaborate costumes.
Overall, this pencil is FANTASTIC. It's always sold out from ULTA when I go there, so I usually have to order it directly from the Nyx site. It's not expensive (something like $5-6 full priced?) but you can also wait for when Nyx has sales, because then you can nab it for something like $3. This is definitely one of my favorite makeup products.
It acts as a base for all my eyeshadows. Even the less pigmented shadows show up great and there is not significant fall out. Beginners need to buy this!!! Trust me it will be so much easier to experiment with your shadows!
NYX really blew me away with this product. Really great product that's super affordable. Like everyone else, i use this under my eyeshadows as a base when i use vibrant colors. It really makes my eyeshadows pop! Love love love this product. cant stress it enough. Super smooth and creamy. Takes no effort to blend. very pigmented. Matte finish. Staying power is decent, and it doesnt crease! And did i say it was affordable? What more could you ask for? NYX, i give you kudos.
This is amazingly creamy and pigmented. Its a really good highlight color and makes my shadows look better than before. Its also really good as a white eyeliner in the water line to make your eyes look more open and bright.
OH my GOSH. How did I ever do bright eyeshadow looks before I got this? This, when used under eyeshadow, made even the most unpigmented eyeshadows POP. I could rave on this for days, but using it is so simple. Draw it over your lid, blend with your finger, and apply shadows over it. And for the price, this is an insanely good deal. Buy this, especially if you love bright eyeshadow looks. You won't be disappointed.
