I really love the whole True Match line from L'Oreal. I have all the blushes, powders, the compact makeup, and I ended up buying the liquid because I loved the compact makeup so much. I am very surprised by some of the negative reviews, but I think everyones skin is different and reacts different to certain products. I find that this foundation makes my skin so radiant, luminous and beautiful it is definitely my favorite foundation I have right now. I have tried many foundations and they usually tend to leave me looking cakey or too done. I don't like to look like I have a mask on or layer of makeup, and so many others I've tried have this effect on my skin (even tinted moisturizers) for some reason, and I've tried a lot of higher end foundations too that ended up not being used and were a huge waste of money i.e. Estee Lauder, Clinique, Clarins, Merle Norman, Mac. This is why I love this foundation, it blends and simply makes you look like you have radiant skin! Also,it is very easy to blend-even with fingers, gives just the right amount of coverage, and has great staying power. I would recommend if you buy this foundation, get it somewhere where if you need to return it you can- like Ulta or stores that accept returns for opened products. I made the mistake of buying True Match at a local grocery store and wanted to return it because it was the wrong shade, but they wouldn't accept it back because I already used it.
I absolutely LOVE this foundation. Not many DS foundations hold up to their claims, but this one did it for me. It doesnt make me look cakey, it blends well with my Sigma F80, or my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. A little goes a very long way also. As for the packaging, I actually put one of my MAC pumps on it, LOL. Where there is a will, there is most definitely a way !! You have to make it work and I did exactly that after having to tip over/pour the bottle so many times. The foundation gives me a flawless face, and W6/W7 worked wonders for my skin tone.
I have this in the shade C2, it's called rose ivory and it's a very good match for my very pale skin tone however the foundation is of poor quality.
*It gives me extremely light coverage and doesn't cover my red patches yet if I try to build it up, it looks very cakey.
*I use my Real Techniques expert face brush to buff it into my skin but it looks streaky and unblendable.
*It's the only foundation that looks bad when I use my RT brush.
*It's quite pricey for what you get.
*Even if I moisturize, it sticks to every little dry patch or blemish.
Overall, a terrible foundation that does the opposite of what it's meant to do! The only positive is that it comes in fantastic shades. Not recommended.
This product is an ok product. The bottle is quite small considering its almost $10 where I live, but I guess that's because a little goes a long way with this product if you don't need full coverage. It's definitely a light coverage foundation. The consistency is very liquidy and easily blend able. Feels quite light on the skin. It was a little bit drying on my skin so I'd say its better for people with oily skin who don't need the full coverage foundations. Looked alright without setting it. Wasn't completely matte but just gave a nice natural finish. Also there are tons of color choices. If you can I'd try some on your skin before purchasing because I required a few shades darker color for my quite pale skin. The one thing I did not like about thus product is that it made my skin feel a bit itchy after applying and I think it was the cause of a small breakout on my skin. So I wouldn't suggest it for sensitive skin types!
Im shade W2/W3 (NC20) for reference. I normally wear Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation but I was sick of searching for a good color match for my yellow undertones. I decided to try this because it was cool, neutral and warm tones.
Oily skinned girls beware, this stuff will melt right off of your face! I don't consider my skin all that oily but oh boy, this stuff was not my friend. It slips right off and it doesn't like being set with powder either.. (rimmel stay matte) it looks like you threw powder on your face. I dotted this all over my face and blended with a beauty blender. ALSO if I touch my face at all you will see fingerprints! It's so crazy.. I even let this set while i do the rest of my eye makeup AND hair before setting it with powder.
This is a good color match but I am not digging this on my skin. This would be more suitable for people with dry/normal skin. I think i'll give this a shot once winter hits and see if it does any better.
Does not cake.
Great staying power.
L'oreal True Match and Makeup Forever HD foundation one of the few brands that have the exactly shade for my face. It is very very hard for me to try western foundations that suits my Asian. They are usually too pink or too yellow/olive. I've tried ALL the Revlon foundations, all the Neutrogena foundations(please do not buy), a handful of department store foundations, it's ridiculous. I love Makeup Forever's foundation, but I use a lot of foundation, I would have to pay $40 almost every month for a new bottle!
I love True Match because it is affordable but you get great quality. I am currently visiting Asia. In this kind of extreme heat and humidity, I would wear a face primer, one layer of True Match, and a setting powder. My face makeup would stay on all day. I kid you not. Of course if I was out all day I would touch up with powder foundation maybe around 4PM, but the staying power is still excellent.
The foundation blends in nicely without me having to use Beauty Blender or a foundation brush. I just use my fingers and it looks natural on my skin.
I heard great things about this product and decided to check it out. It was easy to blend into my skin and had a nice finish. The color after it oxidized was perfect! At first impression, I was in love! I did notice throughout the day though, it wore off little by little. At the end of the day, when I took all of the product off, my face was extremely red and irritated. I also ended up breaking out. After using this for a couple of days, I ended up replacing it with a different brand.
I really like this foundation! I like the packaging as well, because where I live, it comes with a pump. It makes it easier to apply because I don't have to worry about making a mess of things.
It blends in to my skin really easily, and I while I don't think it gives full coverage, it still evens out your skin tone without being too cakey. It looks really natural on me (my shade is G3) and it has a little bit of a radiant glow without being too shiny.
I would give this foundation 5 lippies, if not for the fact that it doesn't last long in the summer. Then again, I didn't use it with primer, so maybe it'll work better. But for now, I think this product is pretty amazing and I'll definitely repurchase! :)
Ok... Let me tell you something and please reply my if you share the same opinion:
The one that doesnt have a pump is AMAZING (the fact that doesnt have a pump really sucks), the formula is liquid-y, it gives me a light-medium coverage, it leaves my skin a luminous, radiant, healthy glow (not greasy, not dewy, not oily), just a healthy finish but it do have super, SUPER fine particles that reflects light, PLEASE... notice im NOT saying shimmer, glitter or anything like that, maybe you´re going to associate or compare it to the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation but no, not at all. I use the shade W4 Natural Beige and it is a great match for my MAC NC30 skin tone. I use a tiny amount for all my face and it covers pretty well my acne scarring and some freckles giving me a natural non heavy makeup look.
It last me a decent amount of time, around 6 hours. For my daily activities it works AMAZING! I just have to blot once. Gals with oily skin... stay away from this, im sorry for you.
Now the weird thing...
The brand add a pump and repackage the product. I don´t know what it is but this doesnt work for me at all as the other packaging. The one that have a pump, look super cakey on my skin, it look super heavy and a like if im wearing a mask. Im sure they hanged something to the formula.
Saddly in Mexico they discontinued the non pump one, we just have the one that do have it. I went to USA 2 months ago and when I saw this at HEB and Target I bought 2 of the no pump one, I didnt bought more because those were the only shades for me that were left.
I LOVE THE NO PUMP ONE, PLEASE BRING IT BACK TO MEXICO!
Shade: W6 (NC37 for reference)
- medium to full coverage
- blends very easily
- flawless finish
- no pump
- not for oily skin
Comments: I love this. It's not a summer foundation, though. I got oily within 3 hours of wearing it, but will suit my skin just fine when the weather cools off. The consistency is thin, but incredibly easy to blend. It doesn't dry quickly and provides great coverage with a satin finish. I love the way my skin looks with this, but definitely avoid if you have oily skin or just wear it in the colder months like I plan to.
