I purchased this in Clair/Transluscent 1 & it matches my fair skin very well (LSF 5/5.5). It is definitely finely milled (though not as fine as Armani's pressed powder, but color-wise, Chanel is definitely better) & goes on smoothly. Most importantly, this powder actually controls shine. In fact, it's the best I've experienced thus far. Even the ever-popular MAC Blot powder is completely blown out of the water by Chanel. I'm usually a grease pit after an hour w/ MAC. Chanel, on the other hand, keeps the oil at bay for well over 12 hours! I still have to blot, but very infrequently & even then, the amount of oil to sop up is miniscule! That's pretty impressive considering that I'm oily 24/7! continued >>

I honestly have had no luck with Chanel except for Teint Innocence Fluide. I'd just finished my YSL semi-loose powder and thought, why not buy a loose powder from Chanel to match my foundation? I wear 20 Clair in Teint Innocence, so I thought one of the two lightest shades in the poudre libre would be good. The SA conned me into getting 30 (translucent 2), which under the soft lighting in Myers, actually looked fine. I was quite devastated to find that the powder is definitely too dark for me, and no matter how much I tried to work it in, it just didnt match my skin. So I went back and got 20 (translucent 1) and thank god i did. It blends in perfectly with my LM velour puff and gives a beautiful soft matte finish to my makeup. My makeup looks fresh even late afternoon - no last minute oiliness. The only downside is that its so mattifying that its very difficult to retouch ur face during the day if need be. Any extra powder/compact tends to ball or cake. Otherwise, will definitely buy again. ;)

The packaging is very pretty and the tub is very huge...it lasts forever! I apply the powder with the sponge, that is inside, and then i remove the excess with a big powder brush. I have Oily/Combo skin and this product mattify my skin and after I don't need any touch up. I have the puodre universelle libre in 50 peche and this shade match perfectly with my fair complexion and make my skin flawless and glowing. The powder is finely milled and doesen't make the skin look chalky.

i do really like this stuff, it looks lovely on, even when applied with a puff (which usually with any other loose powder gives a really heavy look). this sets my makeup well and you get a nice big amount in the pot though it is more expensive than most, even for the size that you get.right now im on accutane and therefore my skin is not its usual greasy self however i dont have dry patches.this powder needs a couple of good presses into the skin with a brush or puff to eliminate shine around the eyes and nose which makes me wonder how it holds up on oily skins...im guessing it doesnt mattify that well. however it gives a beautiful glow and im very happy with my purchase as it suits my current skin type just right.
update: this is hands down now the loose powder that i will stick with until they discontinue it. I only had this revelation when i went on holiday and had to survive without it. This powder gives light coverage that it turns out was essential in my regime for flawless, glowing, healthy, natural looking skin. It sets my makeup and even though my skin type has completely changed since i first bought it (from very dry to now quite oily) i still stick to this. I remember this being very expensive but i reviewed this exactly 2 years ago and have only just noticed that i only have 1/3 left, even though i have been using it every day. i thoroughly recommend this powder!
edit edit: just bought my second one of these. it has lasted over 3 years! its the best ive tried, even for my oily skin. definitely worth the extortionate price because you get so much and it is such good quality.

I absolutely love this powder!!! I bought Translucent 1 after reading the reviews at MAU. It makes my skin flawless, does not cake, and controls shine almost all day. It is very fresh and light looking. Worth the money, and will last a long time.

Love it! I am a loose powder fan - always have been and have tried just about all of them out there. I tried this one b/c Lancome discontinued the photogenic in my color (ivory). Though it is rather pricey ($45), I really do feel you get your money's worth. It is a larger container than others and I find that is goes on smooth and blends in well. I do not wear foundation, just some concealer and then this powder and it makes my skin looks flawless. I will definitely buy again.

This is definetely the best of all, and u don`t even need to chose a certain colour, as the first shade, Translucent 1 doesn`t change the colour of your foundation. I wear it with Double perfection fluid 30 or 40 and i still get the same tanned colour on my skin.
Actually it is highly recommended that you use a lighter shade for the powder. It gives your face a natural glow.I would buy it again and again even if it does lasts forever.

I have this in Clair/Light (I’m NC15/Limpide/Faience). This is a yellow based very finely milled powder. I use a powder brush to set my foundation and sweep just a light dusting. It never looks cakey or chalky. It comes in a huge pot that lasts forever. Should I ever run out I would definitely repurchase.

i've been always using physician's formular mineral loose powder, but it's oil controlling power was very poor.....so i give chanel a try because i 've been using their foundation and the double matte powder for touch up and liked them very much.......i'm pretty happy with their loose powder....it keeps my face shine free for several hours......and great finish.....no heaviness or fine lines after reapplying...it gives a natural glowy finish...i don't even need to use oil blotting papers anymore.......happy happy happy........i'm between NC 30 and NC 35 and i bought natural....prefect match........
