goldmine isnt a pale gold; it is a rich, buttery gold that goes well on its own with some simple brown eyeliner, or dresses up MAC cranberry eyeshadow for a more dramatic look. it works very well to blur out the harsh edges between light and dark colors, and the staying power is very good. a staple in my collection.

At first i had gorgeous gold but that was too yellowgreen for me. i exhanged it for this and it is my HG gold! it's not to yellow toned, i just love it.

This was my HG eyeshadow about 3 years ago. I would wear this eyeshadow on my lids and it made my eyes pop. Goldmine is a gold bronzy shade and I usually would put MAC liquid eyeliner in Boot Black on my eyelid. This is such a great combo.

had to get goldmine just because i didn't have a gold in my collection. gorgeous gold was way too yellow on my NV40 skintone but this one looks perfect. i wouldnt wear this color by itself though. goes great with everything!

It doesn't look gold on me. It's not that gold, It looks yellow, yellow gold maybe? It's ashy and doesn't shimmer. Yup! Ashy yellow gold. Not a pretty gold at all.
I love MAC lipsticks and foundation and powder, big loyal fan. But MAC frost eye shadows just don't work for me. I have two frost eye shadows. And I find that frost formula magnifies all the skin details on my eyelids. They make my eyelids look dry. It's very disappointing. I am not even sure I will ever try other formula of MAC eye shadows since two misses on eye shadows already.
Packaging is great. It got a lot of eye shadow. I guess it's a good value.

Love love this color! I don't know why it took me so long to realize I needed a gold e/s! After seeing all the pretty fall e/s looks in different magazines that all seemed to include gold I went to my MAC and the SA suggested I use goldmine. He told me it's the best gold for blue eyes they have. The others are too yellow and he's right. He and I played with it for a bit in the store and I took it home and used it that night with Quite Natural pp and I gotta say it's fabulous! I'll definitely repurchase!! Very pretty gold color. When I first applied it on my skin it looked yellow and quite daunting, but I paired it with a gray/brown shade in my crease and it was gorgeous! I would buy this shade again if I ran out.

Love! This e/s is such a true gold. Pigment is great, easy to blend, no fall out...what's not to love? If you are looking for a gold e/s, then get this!
