Love this! I use it a few times a week, probably more than recommended, but my skin seems to be able to handle that. I like to exfoliate regularly because my skin starts feeling rough and looking dull quickly if I don't. It's a great exfoliant and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. It smells great too. The first couple of times I used it it stung, but then my skin seemed to adjust and it has been fine since. It smells good too! Some of the salt pieces are pretty big, however, which can make it feel pretty harsh sometimes so you do have to be careful. I live in the UK and was in Lush recently where they told me that they've just reformulated this so the salt pieces are smaller - have yet to try that out but I think it will be an improvement. Anyway, I see myself regularly buying this, as it does such a great job of keeping my skin smooth and clear.
One thing, avoid this if you have a cut on your hand or anywhere else that the product might get to - it's full of salt so it'll sting!

I have used this product off and on for about 3 years. Yes it is expensive as hell, but I think you get what you pay for. I adore the scent...margaritas and the beach. It is a little cheaper if you order it from the UK website. The UK version has bigger salt pieces and the NA version has smaller salt pieces, if that matters to you. I've read other reviews where people actually scoop out the product, stick it in the blender to chop up the huge salt pieces, and scoop everything back into the pot. Sounds like a lot of work, but if the huge pieces of salt bother you that much, give it a shot. Personally I think you need to have oily skin in order to tolerate daily use, otherwise it might be too harsh. You can use it as a cleanser or exfoliator. It will sting a little, but not unbearable. It makes my skin really soft and smooth when I rinse it off. It's also wonderful to use on the hands. Coat your hands and nails with Lemony Flutter, then a small amount of Ocean Salt and gently scrub over hands and nails. When you rinse, your hands will be super smooth and soft! It's also great to exfoliate the body prior to applying self tanners.

First off, I LOVE THIS!!!
I'm just finishing off my first tub, but I am defnitely repurchasing as it's become a staple part of my skincare routine.
If you've got blackheads, this is the one for you. It doesn't get rid of all of your blackheads, but it's got rid of quite a few of mine! I know this is a weekly sort of scrub thing but I use it once daily and my skin doesn't tear or anything.
This does sting a little bit, but definitly bearable. But if you''ve got an open cut or big zit that you've been picking at, it will sting far more in those areas. But it can be expected with it's ingredients.
Defnitely try it, so worth the price. LUSH packaging is known for being very bland, I don't care though, the products are good enough for me! xx

This is a good exfoliator, but nothing amazing. you canget better results from others that are way cheaper.
This is okay, but due to it's harshness I wouldn't buy it again. The grains of salt in it are too large. I feel like I'm damaging my face when I use it there, but it's not so harsh on the rest of my skin. There are other scrubs out there that are better.
Mmm not sure on this one, I think my crystals are just too big, I dont find it harsh though I have educated my skin to be exfoliated within an inch of its life so I suspect my skin is quite hardy though thin lol. I think this is a good cleanser but you need microfine particles to do a really good scrub. This is great for a break out dab a bit on and leave it, but you would be better off with a handful of cane suger (for the glycolic acid) and some olive oil for a better natual exfoliation to be honest but it does smell great, so I will use it up and may but again. But it is expensive.
NO WAY am I using this on my face! It's WAY WAY WAY too harsh! Yes, I tried mixing it and letting it sit for a couple weeks. In fact, I tried this once a week for a month to see if it would agree with my skin. Same results every time - it feels like GRAVEL on my face. I love the avocado and lime base, and would absolutely love it if they took the giant grains of salt out and replaced them with smaller, finer ones. Maybe this would for someone else, but it's just not for me.
Good as a body exfoliator. Definitely leaves my skin feeling smooth, with a little help with hydration. Not worth the price, though.
The top of the container gets stuck and is hard to open sometimes.
I got this, hoping it would be a great exfoliator. It worked, as in I could feel it scrubbing, but I didn't notice anything beneficial afterwards. I'm so disappointed! After about a week of using it, I also discovered what parabens were and I saw that it contained a few parabens, so that put me off it further. Threw it away; what a damn waste!
It accidentally got into my mouth a few times and it tastes really salty and bitter. Eurgh! The smell was the only decent thing about this product, therefore being awarded 1 only.
Stay away from this horrible product :(

This is one expensive salt scrub, but it makes your face feel like buttah! I absolutely love this. The salt is really fine so it doesn't scrape your face off, and the smell... omg! It smells like margaritas and the ocean. And sometimes I accidentally get a little in my mouth when I use it but it kinda tastes like a margarita so I don't really mind. lol
One thing I have to mention is that I always buy LUSH stuff from the UK because it's cheaper (although their prices have been steadily going up lately in the UK. Boo hoo) but this is one product that is NOT the same. The UK version absolutely sucks and the salt crystals are huge, like shards of glass (supposedly they are changing this soon though since people are unhappy with it). So I always shell out more money for the USA version.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub is my favourite scrub, because it is so gritty and I notice a difference in my skin texture and the number of spots I get if I don't use it. Ocean Salt is quite a bit more in price than St. Ives, but the chunky salt suspended in the bright blue and white cream with a yummy citrus cocktail scent sucked me right in. I've used it 2-4 times a week for about a fortnight now. Make to stir in the thick crust of blue salt on-top first, since that contributes to the "chunkiness" that you see in-store. The texture is quite nice, it's a cream with small salt crystals and the occasional rock salt crystal. It doesn't feel as "scrubby" as St Ives though, which is disappointing. It does soften and smooth my skin quite well, but not quite as well as the apricot scrub. Also, it doesn't seem to keep spots and blackheads away as effectively either. It does leave my skin glowing and rosey though, which is nice. I said "no" to repurchase, it's more of a maybe though. Considering a scrub 1/3 the price works well for me, I can't really justify buying it again...but it's such a fun product to use and it smells really lovely.
