This is a pretty great foundation... My skin is fair, and I have moderate acne which seemed to flare up when I used liquid makeup so I thought I would give this makeup s go. It provides medium to full coverage, is matte and lasts pretty much throughout my whole school day which is great. This product defiantly doesn't make my acne worse but it also doesn't seem to help very much either, so if your looking for an acne cure all this isn't it, however it is a great non comedigenic foundation.

I generally don't really like liquid foundation but I bought this product anyway. The color is okay, slightly orange but not too bad. It doesn't break me out or make my acne better but keep in mind that you are putting makeup on your skin so its not gonna be the best for it. The thing that turns me off about it, is that I don't like it to mix with my moisturizer. I like to mix stuff with my moisturizer to make a tinted moisturizer and for some reason I don't like the way it mixes. But if you like liquid foundation you will probably like this better then I did.

Though I no longer use foundation anymore, this is an excellent foundation, that I did use quite often. Never breaks me out and doesn't contain those awful yet popular silicones that break me out like every other liquid foundation contains (Cyclopentasiloxane)

Formula is creamy, yet dries to a matte finish.

I've been using this foundation for a really long time and i'm always coming back to it no matter what i try. I find it doesn't cover all of my reddness so i use a stick concealer with a powder over the top. It also doesn't have very good staying power and by the end of the day you can clearly see redness. It lasts a really long time which is good and it blends very easily

I bought this in the lightest shade (Alabaster), and I quite like this foundation. I found that it provides great coverage, and also gave my skin a nice finish - not shimmery, or overly dewy but it just looked great. It wasn't matte and blank, it looks awesome. I also enjoyed how it didn't make any breakouts worse, yay! I will buy this again if my skin ever becomes acne prone again (hope not!).

I love this product! I'm tanned skin (I am a Latina, but I have pretty light skin). I am 16, I have oily skin, I usually don't break out often (besides a bit on my chin) but I do get zits occasionally. I've tried tons of foundations. Every foundation I've ever tried has made me break out, but this one didn't! I am in the shade Fresh Honey. It matches me perfectly. I'd say it gives me medium coverage; I set it with Proactiv powder. If you have OILY, ACNE-PRONE skin I definitely recommend this product. It's cheap for a high-end(ish) brand or compared to other foundations. Also, my dermatologist recommends Clinique. It doesn't melt off your face, either.

TRY IT! YOU CAN RETURN IT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT AT MACY'S!

Having fair, Irish heritage skin, this product doesn't carry a shade to match me. Even 01 "Fresh Alabaster" makes me look orange.

However, the make-up does seem to mattify some oiliness, and since it contains 0.5% salicylic acid, it makes you feel good knowing that your make-up certainly isn't making your acne situation any worse.

This make-up isn't exactly buildable, since adding extra coats makes the colour look a little strange.

I personally wouldn't buy it again, but if you have mild acne with no post-acne marks, this make-up should do well for you!

I'm 14 with moderate acne (worse in some spots including cheeks and forehead) I'm absolutely obsessed with makeup i couldn't live without it I HAVE EXTREMLY OILY SKIN...it sucks.... but anyways this is an alright product, it didn't help much of my oil & to cover some of my mayor acne spots it takes about 2 coats. I've tried many products drug mart products, Sephora, Mac and to be honest this has probably been the best! I would probably buy this again unless something else came out better! continued >>

This is a good quality foundation. I was able to find a match at the Clinique counter (01 - Alabaster) and the price was high but not unreasonable ($36 CAN). I've struggled with mild but unresponsive acne over the years, mostly bacterial. The kind of acne that bothers you but doesn't fly on the doctor's radar. I also have sensitive skin and eliminating troublesome cosmetic ingredients has been a challenge. After three weeks of daily use, I can say that this foundation has worked for me; of course, it will cause spots if you don't wash it off at night (guilty once or twice). The texture is very light and you must blend quickly, as it is oil-free. I am currently applying with my fingers. The color doesn't change or oxidize on me. The coverage is certainly medium-light, but more medium than light. I set it with the Clinique Superbalanced mineral powder (or sometimes with MAC Blot powder). Setting is truly crucial here: I do a dusting in the T-zone area only to keep some light reflection and dimension on my face. The finish is a semi-matte, meaning that while it is not dewy it is not cakey or full matte.

I find that the Clinique Superbalanced mineral powder alone doesn't offer enough coverage; I also recently used Vichy Dermablend (oil-free, scent-free) which migrated and blotched during the day; Guerlain Parure Aqua tended to darken, was scented and seemed to break me out.

In the end, I think our ratings give a good overview of the product's quality but is not a substitute for good research. Trial and error is one way and there is also beautypedia.com which gives a lot of ratings. I was able to find out that synthetic sunscreen ingredients break me out, so now I stick to mineral sunscreen ingredients. All this to say that I picked the Clinique Acne Solutions foundation because it was well rated for sensitive skin and had no sunscreen (I get it from my moisturizer). It's difficult to find a product with all the right bells and whistles. This is not HG yet, not because it doesn't deserve HG status but since I am wary of making that claim right now. Unlike many other beauty products (ex: blush), foundation has such a long and complex lists of demands to meet that HG is a long term discovery for me. Clinique Acne Solutions foundation is certainly in the race with a good start, but only time can tell in this case.

EDIT: Instead of using a mineral powder on top (gets cakey) or underneath (gets overlayered) I actually mix it in the liquid foundation right before applying. I find this amps up the coverage on the places or days I need it.

EDIT #2 (31/05/2012): not using this foundation anymore. In most natural lighting, the coverage is just too sheer to be worth it. Also, the color range is quite limited and summer requires me to do shade modifications. Moved on to MAC's Studio Fix Fluid.

EDIT #3 (12/07/2012): this foundation just doesn't cut anymore. I've tried coming back to it gradually and it simply travels on my face, especially the nose, cheek and chin area. Another concern I have is that my shade seems quite warm but once applied it dries more rosy or cool. Not sure if this is my imagination, but let this dry out on your hand and apply another dot to compare for yourself.
