This is an almost exact dupe for Mac velvet Teddy. The difference is negligible. The formula is not as smooth as vt although the formula is similar to Mac satin finish lipstick in that its creamy and semi matte. Good job wnw ...I've been very impressed lately.
I'm speaking on behalf of genetically pigmented lips and skintone ranging from nc35 to nc40. This would probably the be the best neutral lipstick for everyday use. First of all, it's Inexpensive. I bought it locally for around $3 in my country but I believe it's cheaper in the US where it is manufactured. So you can have the pleasure of using it and retouching with it everyday. You can repurchase thise without the guilt.
When speaking about nude color, this is not really nude for those with nc40 skintones and lighter because it's a pigmented brown color and would appear heavy on lighter skintones. If you have darker skin than aforementioned, this would actually be a good nude lipstick starter. Mind you, I have pigmented lips and I have problems of lipstick appearing different once swatched on my lips. I don't have pale lips so I needed something that would give off a more pigmented lip color, a tad more than per se Mac Lustre lipsticks (which really don't show up on my lips). So this lipstick is good considering it's really matte. Color pay-off is excellent but again, we all have different lips and lipsticks appear different on everyone, saying so lipsticks don't appear the same on our lips as it would on the tube itself. I'm just in it for the neutral brown color that mutes out my heavy makeup. Thing is, I'm not so sure about the lasting power because after days of wearing it, the color lasts a good 2 hours on me before it starts to fade. But again, no biggie since you can always rectouch.
I have three problems with this lipstick though. First, the packaging is downright outrageous. Good that you can actually see the shade because of the clear cap, but the stick itself protrudes outside the tube. Either you have to use it over and over to consume the protruding part or cut it. As easy as that. I'm annoyed because I have to be careful when putting it back with the cap, not very practical when you're in a hurry and on the go. Second, considering it's matte, this lipstick is drying and emphasizes the line of my lips for that matter. One solution, use lip balm underneath and may I suggest going with waxy ones such as MAC lip conditioner with spf 15 (in the jar). I've never had problems with matte lipsticks with this lip balm. I say drift away from lip primers and concealers. They don't really help that much. Third and last, I kind of find it turning orange after a while. It's just me though because I have weird lips.
Nevertheless, I am a big fan of this color. It complements my skintone very well and it doesn't make me look like someone who made out with a corpse. I use it over lip balm and don't put gloss over it. I let it stay as is to appear more natural and really flattering. A lipstick that I would be repurchasing over and over again.
OMG I can't believe this isn't getting as much hype as it deserves. This is hands down the best drugstore nude that I have purchased. It is somewhere in between Velvet Teddy and Honeylove by M.A.C., Velvet Teddy is more brown, Honeylove is more pink and a tad lighter. Bare it All is a more brownish nude that is not too dark for fair skin tones and not to light for darker skin tones. I am NC40-42 and this looks sexy on me, more of a true nude on my skin tone, and not a washed out nude like Viva Glam GaGa II which sort of washes me out. Someone mentioned Brigitte Bardot and I have to agree that this is what this lipstick reminds me of, its so sexy! I have no complaints with the packaging, its $3.25, so I wasn't expecting to get YSL packaging. Oh and matte lipsticks are always drying, but this one seemed slightly creamier than most, even M.A.C. or NARS. The color is wonderfully opaque too. <3 <3 I'm buying a back up as soon as I go to Target again.
Nice color, okay packaging, lasting power is like any average lipstick. My only complaint would be that it's a little too drying - so much that when i put it on my lips it doesn't glide on as smoothly as i'd like it do therefore it just makes me think that i'm actually putting on a foundation stick on my lips. I've tried other matte lipsticks and this is the only one i've had this problem with. Using this with lip balm doesn't help much either and i like to think that with any product i shouldn't have to use another one in order for it to work well.
I really adore this color too bad it was too dry for me.
I would not repurchase, but for the price it wouldn't hurt to try for anyone who's interested !
I love this Lipstick! I would of given it five stars but cos the packaging sucks I took off an star.
It's matte its not too drying for me it lasts. Around two hours on me, the longest any lipstick lasted on me EVen HE doesn't last long on me. I have pigmented lips and this shows up pinkish nureyev brown on me not too light not to dark just perfect. I like to top this with Nars Strip tease this my hg lip combo. The bad part the packaging is junk the top gets dirty the lipstick falls out of the tube ugh but for 2$ and a great product I think deal with it.
Bought this on a whim while waiting for the bus. The color appears a bit... too nude-y if i apply to both the top and bottom lips. So, I simply apply this to the bottom lip and then rub my lips together. And Voila!
The formula looks creamy, but is a little drying. It also produces that weird light line around your lips if you're not careful with application. Packaging is awful, though. It doesn't go down all the way, so I'm constantly worried the cap will take a chunk of it out white I'm opening or closing. And because I'm tan and have already pigmented lips, Bare It All could have been a little deeper to earn the 5th lippie for me. In my opinion, it's a light brown-peach shade that leans more towards cool than warm. Despite that, I love it!
This is a matte pinky nude but not too pink color. It goes on creamy. It doesn't have a weird smell or anything like that.
I bought this with several other of the matte lipsticks, and didn't expect it to be a standout. But I reach for it almost every day. I don't care for most long-wearing lipsticks, but I like that I can put this down as a base under almost anything else and it lasts for a good long while. It's on the darker side of nude for me, a PPP, but gives me a very natural look on its own. I put a lip balm underneath most days, but if I forget I don't find it too drying.
If this ever gets discontinued I'm going to cry. It's such a great and cheap nude. It takes all the guessing out of which lipstick color to wear because it goes with everything and just gives my a face a very polished finish. The texture is great, too. Not so moisturizing or wet that it slides all over the place, not so dry that it feels uncomfortable. I will say that it looks a little odd when I first put it on, but as soon as it warms up a bit it looks lovely.
