I'm not sure what I did before I had this brush - it really is that good. For $3, you can't go wrong. I've wasted a lot of money trying different brushes that had streaky application, a ton of shedding, or just poor quality. I've had none of those issues with this brush.
For application - I put a little bit of foundation on the back of my hand, lightly spray the brush with Avene Thermal Water, tap the brush into the foundation, then stipple it onto my face.
I bought two of these brushes and washed both of them twice. I had a few hairs shed from both on the first washing, but none after that. I can wash them before bed and they will be dry by the time I do my makeup the next morning.
On a side note, I didn't realize how much foundation I wasted by using a sponge, so it's saving me money there too!
It is very very soft - not as soft as elf's face kabuki. But it really is very soft. It is a great dupe to other pricier brushes. I use it for my foundation or tinted moisturiser. Blends the product so evenly. I love the fact that e.l.f does not test on animals. You cannot find any cheaper good quality brush than this one. I love the handle for this brush. Very sleek and professional looking. I was going to say I will buy again, but this product won't need replacement anytime soon. Very high quality and highly recommended.
I adore this brush. This is a very dense and yet very soft brush. I use this for liquid foundations as it really blends out into my skin. I wash this so many times and it doesn't ever shed!! This brush was $3 and you just can't go wrong with this brush as it is cheap and a high quality brush.
Love love love. I use this for applying foundation and I finally "get" it. Let me explain: I read all the raves about skunk brushes, etc and got the Sonia Kashuk one and some other similar ones (didn't splurge on MAC) to try with foundation but didn't get what all the hype was about. I ordered the ELF 11 piece set and didn't think I'd use this one too much for powder as I have a great powder brush. But on a whim, I tried it with foundation and ~wow~ I finally get it! The beats all other foundation applications I've tried. So dense and yet so soft. I wash it every other day and have no fall out or problems. Dirt cheap! Amazing! Love!
Before I only used this brush with my loose powder to set foundations, and I didn't really like it for that. But then I decided to use it with my Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation, and it gave me a freakishly smooth and flawless finish! Absolutely no streaking as with traditional foundation brushes - I don't think I'll ever go back. I use some Softsoap handsoap to wash it in, and it works great. For the insanely low price and the wonderful quality of this brush, I'd buy it again.

First of all, a lot of the larger E.L.F. have plastic covers that slip on an off the brush head which I love cuz you can throw them any make-up bag for traveling.
That said, if you are wanting to get one flat top brush, this one compares very similarly to others at a fraction of the cost. I have not tried it for liquid, but any reviewed said it works great for that.
I use this for finishing powders or for applying mineral or pressed foundation. Great for a light application of finishing powders since the bristles are black you can see exactly how much product is on the brush.
This compares almost exactly to the Everyday Minerals flat top brush. It is a little (very little) less dense, and the same with the softness.
It is still very soft and almost EXACTLY the same size as the Everyday Minerals.
That said, I also have the Sonia Kashuk flat top brusher which people use for the same uses. I think if you're on a budget this brush would do it all, except the Sonia one is about half the size so it takes longer but it's more precise. That one is similar in density to the Everyday Minerals and also in softness.
None of these brushes shed.
A fabulous brush at an even more fabulous price! I've used this with liquid foundation & powder foundation and it works perfectly with both. I apply my MAC Studio Fix powder w/this brush and it gives me perfect even coverage. I've also used it to stipple on my MAC Face & Body foundation and it looks flawless! It's such a versatile brush to use, you may end up using your other brushes less. One thing to note: it's definitely a brush that gives full coverage so if you're looking for a brush to apply coverage/color lightly, this will not be the brush to use; try a large fluffy powder brush instead. No shedding either, even after washing several times. At only $3, there's almost no excuse NOT to get this. I highly recommend it! continued >>
Best brush EVER! this brush has changed my life.. How? I liked makeup but never could get it like i see on videos.. I dont have bad skin but i like to hide uneven skin blemishes occasionally but i like foundation and how it looked on others and reg foundation brushes always left streaks on my drier skin or pushed it off in spots but with this brush u tap the top tips into ur cream or liquid foundation and then stipple on like a mac187 then u could blend like a mac109 with the most 'airbrushed' and flawless look.. I have never got a shed of hair ever and use elf daily brush cleaner spray them and wash them every other day. it holds rite amount of product distributes evenly and blends awesome.. This brush is amazing and soft as a babys bottom.. Best thing its ANIMAL FRIENDLY! Yea! So for $3 it should be a crime! Haha.. So get online and order as many as possible.. I have 4.. 1 for liquid or cream foundation- 2nd for powders - 3rd for blush and 4th for whatever when 1 of them cleaning/drying .. No matter what u use it for u will b astonished.. It blends anything like no other!
