I've used my Clarisonic Mia every night since the end of December, and I absolutely love it. Although the price of the Mia is expensive, I do think it is worth it if you are willing to spend a little more for skincare and invest in the future health of your skin. The Clarisonic Mia is basically a facial cleansing brush that is supposed to cleanse your pores 6x more efficient than cleansing with your hands, thus supposedly helping minimize pore appearance size, cleaning pores, reducing fine lines, and creating a better skin texture.Since i started using my Mia over three months ago, I noticed that my skin texture was instantly improved. My skin is so much smoother, and a lot of the redness was minimized. I didn't really noticed a dramatic disappearance of acne, but I do think using the Clarisonic Mia has helped prevent some breakouts. This product helps clean off my makeup, oil, and dirt that is or could be on my face like no other. Some cons about this product is that it is pretty expensive, and replacement heads for the Mia are also ridiculously priced. They recommend that you replace the brush heads about every three months, but I've decided to make it every four months for me, since my Mia came with one brush head, and I purchased a double pack. The Mia vibrates for one minute, and doesn't beep every ten/twently seconds like the Original Clarisonic, to indicate that it's time to move to a different section of the face. I think one minutes isn't enough, especially on days when I am wearing a little more makeup. So, I find myself pressing the on button again immediately when it shuts off, and then using that second round for an addition thirty seconds. All in all, I do recommend the Clarisonic Mia to those that are looking for a product to deep clean and even out texture. I do think the Clarisonic is worth it in the long run, but for some it might not be necessary. Do keep in mind that the Clarisonic Mia is the travel sized version, so it cannot fit the full body brush head. You will also have to purchase new brush heads every 3-4 months, which cost $40. for a two-pack and $25. for a single brush head.

Clarisonic Mia (Vs. Pretika)PROSOperation is much much quieter than the Pretika.Brush head is slightly softer (probably better for super sensitive skin).Varying brush heads (sensitive, normal). Handle is easier to hold and more comfortable.Smaller brush head so easier to get places around the nose.CONSDid not help clear up my face at all which the Pretika did (this is very important since that is the purpose of this tool for me). I actually broke out worse after using the Clarisonic (using the same cleaners as I did with the Pretika). No timer.Cost. The initial cost of the Mia is substantially higher (Pretika is $50, and cheaper if you find it at Marshall's and the like). The long term cost is also very expensive with brushes running around $20 a piece where as you can get 4 Pretika brushes for the same price. CONCLUSIONThe Clarisonic is good if you have really sensitive skin because it doesn't really do much (but that also means it's a big waste of money, I think massaging with your finger tips gives you about the same result). The Pretika actually works for me and helps clear up my skin and the price is right. It's not as well put together as the Clarisonic, it's much louder, more plastic-y, not as comfortable to hold-- but ultimately it does a better job which is what's important!!!

Can I just add that I don't know what I did before I purchased my Mia! I use the brush for sensitive skin and my face has never looked better. Seriously worth the price! Easy to use, charge, clean. If you are even THINKING about buying one-do it. Believe the hype!!You will not be disappointed and your skin will thank you. And thank you and thank you......

I've been using my Mia for about 2 weeks now and I can't say enough good things about it. For the past 9 months or so I've had fairly moderate/severe acne on my chin, jaw and around my mouth area, luckily it's avoided my whole face but it has been pretty depressing. After trying antibiotics and Differin with not much luck I've had real results using AHA + BHA's, Chinese medicine and other holistic approaches but I'm still constantly having break outs and have red scars + hyperpigmentation. The Clarisonic hasn't miraculously cleared my acne overnight but it has certainly helped my overall skin tone (I have glowy cheeks for the first time ever and my forehead is so smooth it shines, that's never happened), reduced the frequency and helped healing time. I can also see a marked improvement in the spaces between scars, stubborn, deeply clogged pores are much less noticeable and hard under the surface white heads which wouldn't go even after a facial seem to be disappearing. I think I may have been a little heavy handed with it at first and maybe used it too much. It seems better when I use it once a day, at night. Overall a great investment and well worth the cash!

I wanted to wait until I had been using this for awhile before writing my review. It has been about three months now and I have been using this on a regular basis. I was nervous at first because I read a lot of reviews where users experienced "purging", when pimples pop up seemingly out of nowhere, it's the built up dirt and oil deep in your pores coming to the surface from the deep cleansing of the Clarisonic. I was afraid my face was going to be a mess for the first few weeks but I only had a few blemishes since using it. Upon the first use I noticed that it made my skin very soft, no redness whatsoever, just smooth very soft skin. After using it for the past three months, mainly with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and more recently with Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser, I can see an improvement in my skin tone and my pores seem smaller. Some people have said it is best to use a gentle cleaner with this, I was already using Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser but when I started using Neutrogena Pore Refining I noticed better results and I definitely don't think it is too harsh, but it probably depends on your skin type. Overall, I highly recommend the Clarisonic Mia and I think it is well worth the money. It is something you can have for years as long as you take care of it and it will make a difference on your skin.

It may be the combo of the Arcona products that I'm using along with the mia, but my skin has never looked this good. Before using this, I could have probably extracted something from just about every pore on my face. Now, almost nothing! It is really amazing. I also had little small bumps on my forehead for years that nothing seemed to get rid of. Now, I can count 3 on my whole face! I lurked around reading reviews for months before buying this because I thought it was a bit expensive. I'm really glad I decided to make the investment because it really works! The product is well made, the charge lasts very long so it would be easy to take on a trip without even worrying about plugging it in, and it only takes about 30 seconds twice a day. I don't think it does anything for wrinkles, but it is great at unclogging poress and clearing up skin!

For me, the Clarisonic is just a really good cleanser. It makes washing your face with just soap and your fingers look like a pile of bird crap. And for that alone, it deserves four stars. It has become a part of my nightly skincare regime and quite honestly I don't know what I would do without it. It removes traces of makeup that my remover did not care to pick up and it allows lotions and moisturizers to sink into my skin quickly and effectively. still get acne. I think a huge reason why some disapprove of the Clarisonic is because it did not cure their acne breakouts; it did not meet their expectations. Firstly, I suggest you buy the product without any expectations, albeit the hype may be a bit irresistible. Buy it, try it, and if you don't like it, return it. It's not that hard (unless you die from it, then, yeah, uh, sorry). Secondly, if your acne is caused by your inability to clean your skin efficaciously, then the Clarisonic will help you avoid and get rid of stubborn breakouts. But if your acne is hormonal or genetic (like me), a simple cleansing tool (despite the steep price tag) will not be the Jesus to your rescue. Having said that, the Clarisonic, in all it's effective glory, will help your blemishes heal much quicker -- and I do dare say the $150+ tag is worth just that. I've never had stubborn zits and pimples heal so quickly.A note to those even without sensitive skin: It might be okay to begin using the Clarisonic twice or even three times a day when you first get it, but I suggest you gradually become less dependent on it as time goes on. The Clarisonic isn't just a cleansing tool, it acts as an exfoliator. And over-exfoliating your face will cause dryness which causes your glands to produce more oil, which in turn causes more acne. I did not have sensitive skin prior to using this, but now my face is dry and only three coats of heavy moisturizer will do the trick. I'm slowly and patiently waiting for my face to return to it's un-dry state (I'd rather have oily skin than dry skin; unfortunately I learned the hard way).As far as the overall improvement of my facial texture goes, I don't see a very noticeable change. I did visit home a while ago and my mom complimented on how my skin has changed for the better. But I did (and still do) not see it. My blackheads are a bit less visible (try using a nose strip after you've been using the Clarisonic for a while -- it's insane!), but even after using it for months and months, I still haven't accomplished that smooth skin look nor have my pores reduced in size (at all). But, to be fair of my given four lippies, as of now I'm more than content that it helps my acne heal in such a remarkably short amount of time.

Like so many others, for ages, I was on the fence about investing in a Clarisonic. I was just not convinced that it could possibly be worth the money, but all of the glowing reviews made me curious. After going back and forth for months, I finally decided to buy a Mia. I had reservations, since the Mia has only one speed, and my skin tends to be sensitive and dry (I use Retin-A) -- but after reading reviews from others with these issues, I decided to give it a try. My only regret is that I waited for so long!! As background info: my skin is not problem skin. I did not have acne or breakouts in my teens and even for most of my twenties other than the occasional pimple. If I break out (which I do, from time to time), it tends to be in the form of a few blemishes, restricted to my chin area. I also had bumps (clogged pores?) along my chin that no amount of resurfacing cleanser / mask / Retin-A could eradicate. From the first time I used it, the Clarisonic cleaned my skin in a way no other method ever has -- I realize there are reviews stating that a washcloth and/or exfoliants do the same job, but I do not see how this is possible. I started using the Mia twice a day, which did prove to be a bit irritating -- once a day is better for me (I might invest in the delicate brush to see if I can use it twice a day). I saw a change in my skin immediately -- it was much smoother, and the bumpy clogged pores I had on my chin began to disappear. My makeup even looks different -- I need less -- and it goes on so much more smoothly. My co-worker even asked if I was using anything different! Honestly, between this and the REN Glycolactic Mask, I feel like I'm looking at my 23-year old skin again (really).I have been using the Mia for about 3 weeks now, and I hope that these results stay consistent. I could not be happier that I invested in this. It didn't cause any breakouts, but after two weeks of using it twice a day, my skin did become a bit irritated. Once I reduced the usage to once a day, the irritation subsided. Bottom line: SO impressed; I love it. UPDATE 6/2011: I have now been using the Mia for four months, and, if anything, my skin has improved tenfold. I really think it's because it cleans so well, everything else I use is rendered more effective. It's smooth and rarely breaks out at all anymore, even during that time of the month. I'm definitely not sorry that I invested in this!

This brush does what it says on the box. It cleans really well. To be honest, I probably didn't need this. I have fairly good skin; I never get spots, and the only blemishes I get are those sebaceous 'balls' under the skin, that don't surface (but don't do much else either - just forms a small bump) that I get frustrated with, and therefore pick at. I also only wear eye make-up. So I obviously wasn't massively impressed on the first wash, as many have commented here. But my skin definitely felt very clean. It's been about a month now, and now I can tell the difference. The texture of my skin is what has most improved. It's much smoother and looks very even. It feels like the clarisonic has 'polished' my skin! The bumps also haven't formed since I've started using this. It makes dry patches go away and seems to somehow make the pores on my inner cheeks near invisible. I will put it to the test this summer, when the humidity and the heat start to take it's toll on my skin.Although I probably didn't *need* this, I do really like it. It feels like a treat every time I use it! I am hoping that good skincare started when I am young (I'm 21) will head off any signs of ageing and hopefully stop me picking at those pesky bumps! I do hope it doesn't break, because it costs an arm and a leg, but if it does, I would buy again. Not a necessity, but lovely to have.
