I really like the finish and look of this product. I usually stays very well but tends to make my face look oily after about 6 hours. So not too bad. But it has started to make my face break out!! Definitely changing my foundation as soon as possible.
I have a really hard time finding a foundation that doesn't break me out and matches my skin tone. I applied it with my a make up sponge to test it out when I first bought it and it looked awful. I used a foundation brush to apply it later and it blended right in with my skin and looked wonderful! It hasn't caused a break out either and I've been using it for about a month now. I also bought the powder and concealer. I only put the powder on where my skin tends to be a bit oily and that works out great. I love this product :)
I love the way the jar looks. but a lot of product seems to sit in the lid, which i'm not too fond of. It's really not that big of a deal though.
I hated this foundation at first and thought it was a waste of my money but when I started using the ELF Complexion brush (the big one that looks like a big flat top kabuki) I was amazed at how much I love this foundation. It evens out my skin and hydrates it. I have worn it for hours and hours and have not noticed it changing colors or consistency. I do not think it works for oily skin at all. I have a dry face so it works for me. If you find it's a bit too dewy, tap off the dewiness with a parted kleenix and the problem is fixed...
Let me start by saying that if you have oily skin and you go into using this produxt knowing its properties and don't take the usual steps you might take to keep oil at bay, then it's no wonder this product didn't work for you.
That being said, I think this makes for a terrific product for everyday use. It's not full coverage, but I was looking for something I could use daily without feeling like I was wearing buttercreme frosting. I conceal what needs to be concealed, then I stipple the foundation on and then buff it with a bronzer brush. It evens my skin tone beautifully and looks dewy and fresh. Then I set it with the Maybelline Dream Matte powder with a fluffy complexion brush, and I'm good to go. I blot throughout the day, but really, this didn't cause me to get any oilier than I would on any normal day.
Its staying power is great once it's set, by the way. I just did a show with my band last night and got pretty sweaty and still my face wasn't shiny or slick. I had put it on at 9am and got home at midnight, and my skin still looked even, fairly matte, and not cakey at all. Mind you, I'm normally an oil slick, and my acne prone skin has scars and redness galore.
I would go for a full-coverage mattifying foundation for photo or video shoots, but for everyday use, I love this product.
The fact that there's no pump is lame though, hence the one lippie off.
This product didn't work for me. I guess i'm the type of girl that likes alot more coverage. This was too sheer for me and alot of the colors have pink undertones whereas I have more of a warm tone. I wouldn't buy this again. Plus, I couldn't really handle the 'makeup like' smell.
This is the first foundation I've bought for myself. I was very satisfied with this. I got color 225, but I think I could have gone lighter. I was actually freaked out because I thought it was too dark, but it was the perfect match for me! Even though it doesn't stay for long, the coverage was good enough for me!!! It was very cheap too!! Once I finish trying out other foundations and unless I find something better, I'll definitely buy this again! This is Maybelline's best foundation.
Maybelline's Fit Me product line dumbs down the colour matching system using numbers to navigate through each shade: light, medium and dark. As someone who struggles to find a true light shade for 'transparent' skins, 110 was a perfect match. In terms of formulation, the product is likely to be exclusive for dry, parched skins like my own. Normal to oily skins may have difficulties with application, but I can't say that for sure. Using a damp sponge, the coverage is light and buildable and remained oxidized free for the day. The outcome left my face dewy and by no standards, slicked with oil. Keeping in mind the individual's skin type, facial routine and application will differ in results from another, I appreciated the gel-like texture, light but buildable coverage and the perfect arrangement of shades. My one and only complaint is the packaging. Sleek in appearance but unaccommodating due to the lack of a pump. For the price though, you get a a bang for your buck.
Even though there were really mixed reviews with this foundation, I gave it a try anyways. My local Rite Aid was having a BOGO 50% off on Maybelline products. I got this in the color 115 which was the perfect color for me. I put it on the night I got it to see how it would do. It looked great on my skin and didn't feel heavy and the smell had a nice lotion smell to it, so I thought this was going to work for me. The next day I had a nine hour school day. After about three hours of class, I felt like my face was sweaty and gross. At about 1 o'clock, the make up had melted completely off my face and I had developed three pimples since I had put the make-up on. This make up just wasn't for me. I took it back and got something else.
-Good color selection
-Made my skin more oily than it is
-Didn't last more than 4-5 hours
-Caused my skin to break out
I returned this and won't be giving it another try. I think this would work better for someone with dry skin being that it seems to be very moisturizing.
I bought FitMe concealer, foundation, and powder at a Krogers when I ran out of my other foundation. When I got home and tested it, I discovered that the foundation made my skin look very dry and discoloured. The powder went on very thick and made me look like I put on an inch of makeup, no matter how little I put on. I moisturize daily and I have really nice skin and every other foundation I've used has not given me these results. I use the concealer daily though. It's not great but it's good for every day use. I rarely buy Maybelline and I'm definitely not using them again.
I have this foundation in #315 Soft Honey, the color matches my skin tone very well....that's the only pro I can really think of at the moment. I wish they would make this in different formulas (if they don't already) meaning for different types of skin tones because after 3 hrs my face is so oily and slick its disgusting. I set it with the matching pressed powder and a translucent powder to no avail. The smell kinda turns me off as well. I will continue to use it because it does match my skin tone but will not be buying it again.
