Bronzer is my staple and I'm constantly trying new ones. I honestly think I've tried every high-end bronzer... Laura Mercier, Benefit, Stila, MAC, you name it, I've tried it. I have used this a few times in the past, but now I'm hooked. The key is application. I use a fan brush because it applies the powder very lightly. With the wrong brush, this bronzer is a disaster -- it will look very muddy and dirty. Use a fan brush and you'll see just how great this stuff is.
I have somewhat olive-y skin, but a lot of bronzers seem to bring out the red in my skin. This doesn't at all. Just a beautiful shade of tan. And NO orange whatsoever. Also, I don't like glittery bronzers, and this one has just the right amount of matteness.
Yes, it's expensive. But, worth every penny to look tan without the effects of the sun.
I was so looking forward to this because this product was getting such good reviews and my estecian even raved about it but it just didn't do it for me. I tried it on and I just looked orange, not healthy or "glowing". I don't know why it didn't work on me, maybe I put too much on, but I recommend everyone try it before you buy it and make sure you see yourself in DAYLIGHT because that's where the real test is.
Laguna is the only bronzer that I've tried and gotten the best results from. [and trust me, I've tried all of them, from MAC to Lancome to Chanel...] The packaging is beautiful, the powder doesn't break like most do. The color is beautiful - not too orange, not too muddy, not too sparkly. It does not look greasy at the end of the day like MAC usually does. It lasts forever also.
It seems like I have been searching forever for a decent bronzer. I'm very fair complected with yellow undertones and almost everything I've ever tried makes me look orange, like I have dirt on my face, or is simply too sparkly. I'm not sure why I hadn't tried this before, since I love NARS. I bought this based on the good reviews here. It's expensive, but I got it at Sephora and so I figured I'd just return it if it looks bad. Happily all the good reviews are true! (What would I do without MUA?) I've been wearing this over some self tanner and it adds a nice subtle bronze glow. I use a brush (forget the pad that comes with it because that thing is useless) and put it at the top of my forehead near my hairline and then do a "3" down each side of my face (subtle! not too much anywhere) and then a dab on my nose and chin. My husband keeps telling me how pretty I look. It's all just smoke and mirrors baby!
This provides a subtle look of "sun" to my face. With a light hand, it never gets that orange-y tone that some bronzers embarassingly give. The rubber case (for NARS blushers/bronzers) does attract dirt/oil.
I love this bronzer! It looks so natural and I don't have to use that much of it. However, if I do apply too much, it looks dirty. But I love it!
I have to give it to NARS, this bronzer is very natural looking. So natural looking it made me look BURNT. Yes, that's right BURNT. My face looked like I had baked in the sun and my cheeks were waayyy too flushed. The staying power was very poor, it had rubbed off completely within a few hours. This just didn't work for me. Sorry NARS.
I love NARS, but I just wasn't pleased with this bronzer. I think it would look better to warm up pale complexions, cause this wouldn't show up on me.
Great Product! I love it! Beautiful sun-kissed look! I would buy again!
This has become a favourite of mine and I really do think that it lives up to the hype. It is a true bronzey/brown tone with NO orange undertones. Not shimmery and warms up my light complexion beautifully. Works great for contouring of cheekbones/jawline. I apply it with my Paula Dorf Bronzing Fan for light-handed applications. It is extremely pigmented (comparable to the pigmentation of Pout blushes), so best applied with a very light hand, otherwise its guaranteed to make pale-light complexions look muddy (although the problem can easily be solved with a full/dense face blending brush). I can definitely see myself repurchasing Laguna in the distant future.
