I am so so impressed by this! I don't think i've ever bought a maybelline product before, but Lisa Eldridge recommended this in one of her videos so I thought i'd give it a go. Plus, like her, I was really excited to hear that a gel eyeliner had finally been produced by a drugstore brand. I have the bobbi brown gel eyeliner, mac gel liner, and clinique cream liner (rubbish!) and in my opinion this is just as good as the bobbi brown one in terms of consistency and staying power and a million times better than clinique- and in terms of the price and value for money it is a million times better than all three. Probably the best thing about this is the brush- it is honestly the best eyeliner brush I have ever used (i am so confused by the person a few reviews down who said the brush was useless, did you get a broken one?). I have several eyeliner brushes, (mac ones, bobbi brown, bodyshop, benefit, eco tools, nars) and this one is the best and the one i go to use every time. I would pay the amount the eyeliner costs just for the brush, heck, after spending around £20 a time on inferior eyeliner brushes I would pay more for this brush. (luckily I don't have to :p at under £7 this is seriously great value). the gel stays on great on my eyelids, i've worn this from 7am all day at work and then straight on a night out until the early hours and it was still there when i got home- some of the reviews criticise the lasting power of this which surprises me, but i guess that probably has to do with skin type- i have slightly dry skin including my eyelids which means my eyemakeup rarely ~slides off (i don't generally use eyeshadow primer either) like it may do on people with oilier skin types? i don't know. whatever, great product, would buy again and again.
First of all, I bought this product at Rite Aid for about 10 bucks. And i was only SLIGHTLY impressed. I heard a lot of great reviews about this product so i set out on a mission to go buy it. This was my 2nd creme eyeliner, as my first was Black Radiance. Do not get confused that it does INDEED go on very very smoothly. . which i love. In addition, I love the little brush which comes with it to make an easy glide. Plus, it smudges really really really easy. which is sort of a benefit for me because I mess up a lot. However, it smudges my lower line soo bad during the day. I look scary as HECK! It does NOt last all day, and seems to look faded. And finally it is not pigmented enough. I like this much better than the eye pencils, but I do not think I will be buying this again.
I am a big fan of Bobbi Brown's and MAC's gel eyeliners. I was a tad less of a fan of L'Oreal's HIP gel liner.
I feel like the pigment in Bobbi Brown and MAC are much deeper than L'Oreal's HIP.
Ok, so down to business. The Maybelline eyestudio gel is also not quite as pigmented as it's department store brands. However, I feel that it is better than its drugstore counterpart. It comes with an awesome brush that strokes the eyeliner on my Asian lid well. Also, I wore this liner and cried during a good movie and the eyeliner didn't smudge or budge at all. I'm impressed. Best of all it stays all day! I'd repurchase for sure.
I love this product! It's really pigmented and comes with a good quality brush, so it is easy to use. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted to experiment with gel eyeliner as it is a cheaper alternative to MAC or Bobbi Brown
This did not impress me in anyway. The color pay off is lame, it smudges, it dries out quick.
It is drugstore so it is easy for me to get, however, if I have to buy a DS cream eyeliner I will get L'Oreal H.I.P. which is much better.
It is cheap & you get what you pay for.
Packaging is great. Of course the brush that comes with it sucks, but which one doesn't, right?
I do not repurchase, I either order from MAC or get L'Oreal at the DS.
-I have used alot of gel liners before but this product is amazing. It goes on very easily, the color is super rich. it doesn't dry fast or smudge. For the price, the quality is amazing. if your looking for good gel liner, that's easy to use that won't run you broke this is the liner to buy. Also the liner brush is great quality.
I really like this gel eyeliner - it comes on very smoothly and leaves a nice defined line that doesn't smudge, and stays put all day long. Sometimes the colour is a bit light so you need to layer it a bit but it doesn't take long. The price is reasonable as it comes with a great brush but for a small pot of eyeliner its nearly $10. I love the little pot as it is durable and looks nice too. I would buy this product again! :)
I really like this eye liner. I needed a dark gel eyeliner and purchased this. It has really dark colors (I bought Blackest Black). It's smudge-proof AND waterproof. It goes on really smooth but be careful because the leftover liner in the jar can dry out rather quickly. If it didn't dry out, I would have gave it a 5.
The brush is easy to use and a great size. It lasts a long time. I applied some eyeshadow base and this liner and it would NOT budge. After many hours of sweating, it stayed put. Only after I fell asleep did it smudge. Just be careful not to over apply because trying to wash it off is hell. Trust me, I know.
i`m a total gel liner freak...if there`s any latest product in town i`ll surely be the 1st to try..however i somehow never had the urge to try maybelline gel liner till i got it has a present from my buddy.My.. my.. how was am i surprised with the effect that i`ve allwayz been looking from all the liners that i`ve being using, the brush is seriously EASY to apply on. I`ve never felt using eyeliner that easy has this one is n the colour is AMAZING too.. since it dries very very very slow but itz ok coz i love smudging my lover lid a lil to create the good old smokey eye look for a nite out or i jz love doing the cat eye look for college. This one of the BEST liners i`ve ever tried compared to Bobby Brown or maybe MAC.I`ll surely buy another 4 more (LOL) coz itz super cheap for the buy. nuf said!!!
Not impressed with this product at all i was debating between buying this and MAC but thought id try this as its alot cheaper now i realise you get what you pay for. At first at seems great got a good little brush for easy, mistake free application but after a couple of hours it had smeared and half of it had come off even though i had foundation and eyeshadow on my eyelids, the colours not that intense but you can go over it a few times to make it darker. The only good thing about this eyeliner is the brush. I will probably use it again as the pot looks like it will last a long time but I will buying a MAC one for special occasions. Do not waste your money on this, pay more for better quality!
