Majority of people who are complaining about this product are probably doing that because their skin is either really really really sensitive or oily. If you have even a slightly oily skin, do not use on face because it will make your face even oilier. However, DO use on body! Apparently skin seems to like this oil because it's the most fast-absorbing product i've used, considering that almost none of it is being evaporated. Also, I really love the smell, it's kind of sweet and smells like babies, and who doesn't want to smell like babies?
Also, I sometimes use this on my hair after shower. I use it only when I'm air-drying it, not blow dry, because I'm afraid that I might fry my hair when heat and oil is combined. And for me, it really made my hair so much more softer and silkier. I even like to use this oil better than some other oils specifically meant to use on hair.
My only complain is the applicator. It's made so that the oil only comes out one drop at a time but when it comes out the oil tends to cling onto the surface area around its opening... It's really messy and inconvenient. It would have been so much better if it was a pump or just about anything else but this.
But overall, I really love this oil and definitely recommend trying it out!
This was quite an expensive product for me and it did not fade any of my stretch marks. I acquired my stretch marks as a teen so they are quite a few years old. However, it did give me amazingly soft skin so I used it as a weekly body oil.
I haven't gotten brave/foolish enough to use this on my face but I love this for use on my body. In a bath it leaves my skin silky when I get out and works great mixed with my favorite body lotion and applied afterwards. It also does not make my back break out which some oils (Johnson and Johnson) do. I have a jojoba oil, but so far I must say I like this one better for my body. I am going through it rather quickly, though.
I absolutely love Bio Oil. After surgery i used it on my scars religiously and it helped fade them ALOT!!! My best friend also suffers from psoriasis on his face and he uses it every morning to combat the flaking on his face, he tells everyone about it & this is coming from a guy who hates beauty products! However i do think its a little bit of a rip off for what it is and the packaging isn't that flash. But i would purchase it again because it truly does work. continued >>
This stuff is very dense! It stings my eyes and I feel as though I have to apply it at least 4 times a day. Seems to dry out on my skin. Not a fan of Bio-oil, disappointed by the product!
I have been using bio oil for about 3 years. Here is what it has done for me.
Works for:
preventing marks, in other words if you have a fresh pimple or fresh scar it will help the mark fade away! as soon as i pop my pimples i apply it to the broken skin. It may not seem like the best idea but it works FOR ME. Just dont put it on a pimple that has not been popped! it will heal with the bacteria in the skin! yuck!
ODDLY it stops itching from insect bites.. Weird huh? yes it does! If I get bitten by a mosquito I apply bio oil and the itching stops! which is great because the less i scratch that mosquito bite the less chances of it leaving a scar! I tend to walk with it everywhere I travel.
I have always applied this for stretch marks but never really noticed any change. Maybe I did not pay attention. I been using it for two weeks for stretch marks but it has not helped. However,
I have some horrible old blemish scars on my legs and buttock area and I have been using it for 2 weeks sometimes once a day sometimes twice a day. I can honestly say my blemish scars have been fading.
I have tried a lot of things for scaring and bio oil is the only thing that comes close to helping my scars.

I used this product on my SUPER oily skin after having a mole removed and reading reviews on MUA. I used it all over my face. Sounds totally crazy for someone who suffers from dreadfully oily skin and lives in the tropics, but its great. For some reason, it helps with oiliness during the day. Its oily when I first put it on (under my primer and make up) so I give it 5 mins to soak in and then put on my primer and make up. It has improved the overall condition of my skin and its certainly helped my little scar from the mole removal. A little goes a long way and I will certainly repurchase.

For me it really depends what you're using bio oil for! stretchmarks? yes it works very affectively for me! BUT i would never use this on my face, it clogs poors with its oily base and makes it very easy for your skin to have a breakout!
A few months ago I randomly broke out with 2 GIANT pimples. I freaked out and tried to pop them, but ended up just cutting them with the tweezers and failed to remove the 'white centre'.
So they looked even worse lol.
I went out an got a rapid zit cream and applied liberally 4 times a day. The zits went down after a week but I was left with scars, the one to the side of my nose looked like a big unflattering red beauty spot :(
So I sussed out remedies and used this in combination with lemon juice. I can't say 100% that it was bio oil alone but it certainly did help.
I used lemon juice on a cotton pad and lathered on the spots for about 2 weeks, after cleansing and toning. Then I purchased bio oil and applied this the same as the lemon juice. So the lemon juice sort of killed the first couple of layers of the scar and lightened it, and the bio oil nourished and lifted the pigment. They have pretty much gone now and I'm so happy I don't have to try and conceal them any more :)
Feel free to try my zit act routine because it really worked for me :)
Would purchase again when my giant bottle ran out.
After using yogurt masks far too often, the lactic acid caught up with me and gave me lovely dry rough cheeks. So I thought this would be purrrfect for me, but it really did nothing. I used it for about a week and a half morning and night, and it broke me out on my chin and inner cheeks, which are slightly more oil prone then the rest of my face. It contains mineral oil which clogs the pores (making them look more enlarged). After a couple of days of noticing these effects I only applied this to my cheeks. I didn't see it restoring or softening my cheeks, so I quit using it and switched to black seed oil, I only used for one night and felt a difference. I will be going on holidays in about a week, so im not to keen to continue experimenting with black seed oil and began using nivea soft moisturizer with jojoba oil and vitamin e, and it softened my cheeks almost instantly.
But as for bio oil, I dont think its any different to baby oil, they smell very similar, and it ain't no miracle oil thats for sure!
