first of all, i really wanted to like this moisturizer, since olay is one of the few beauty products companise that i like, but for my surprise it made my skin greasy, i tried put it on in the morning and i ended up with shiny face, and when i put it at night time i woke up with oily face, so i decided to use it on my forehead and under the eye area, and it's good till now, because i discovered that the best thing to do for combinatin skin is to have 2 types of moisturizers: a rich one (but not very rich and oily!)to use on your forehead and under the eye area, and a light one to use on the rest of your face, and i'll keep updating about this cream
This is the best thing that has ever touched my skin! I've tried so many different moisturizers from low end to high end and everything in between. Usually I break out, or the lotion is too greasy, or it isn't moisturizing enough. This one takes care of all of those issues and more. My skin is very sensitive and I love how they make this in fragrance free. My skin is so soft throughout the whole day, and I've noticed my fine lines on my forehead are smoothing out! It is kind of pricey at 21.99 but it's worth it to me. I tend to run out of it kind of fast so I decided I would try the Rite Aid knock off for 8 dollars cheaper. It was NOTHING like the Olay version. NOTHING like it! Don't waste your money. It leaves a very streaky white mess on your face. If they stop making this Olay Total Effects Fragrance Free, I will be truly sad! It is amazing.

Using this daily made my pores smaller and my skin less red. I am very pale so every bit of redness shows. This stuff takes almost all of the red away (I'm not very red though, just mildly or noticeably red). I live in a dry climate and this is very moisturizing. Just be sure that you don't put on a lot. I use just enough to cover my face. Any more and I break out. HG!
Update: This ended up breaking me out. A lot. I've switched to Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Moisture Gel, something that also has niacinamide but is better suited for oily/combo skin.

This made my skin feel great but gave me itty bitty bumps on my cheeks. I stopped using it after 3 days, but I think it was starting to break me out, I'm not positive though.
This moisturizer has really saved my skin. It reacted badly after using a glycolic moisturiser and travelling through Europe for a month, and then flying back to Australia. I suffered for about six months with hot, red cheeks and not knowing what to do about it. I even went to see my doctor who didn't think it was really rosacea since there were no bumps on my skin. Anyway, I was reading an issue of Allure which had an article on irritated, red skin and they had a few suggestions. One of them was Olay Total Effects - it reduces redness due to Niacinamide and Green Tea. I tried it thinking it would not help, but within a couple of days it was working....that was 3 years ago. Sometimes I try other moisturisers thinking that my skin will be OK with them, but they always make me red and burning cheeked. I love this stuff, it is my HG and best of all it only costs around $30 in Australia, even cheaper on sale.

I use Olay Complete sensitive skin on my face every day as my regular moisturizer. I wanted something anti-aging, so I thought I'd try this out as a night cream. Bad move. This broke me out! It is heavier and greasier, but I guess it's not as non-comedogenic as they claim. It doesn't really smell, a slight chemical smell, but it's barely noticeable, hence the fragrance free. I don't like the packaging, as it doesn't seem as sanitary as a squeeze bottle. This is a weird pump, and there's product that gets stuck in the spout all the time. Plus, it's super expensive for the amount you get. P&G was nice enough to send me a coupon after I complained, but it wasn't a full refund of what I paid, which was $17.99 at Target. I will just stick to my olay complete and search for another night cream that won't break me out. continued >>

I didn't hate this moisturizer, but I didn't love it either.
Pros: Didn't make me break out, greasy, or irritated.
Cons: It was just kind of *meh*. I remain unconvinced about its anti-aging benefits. It also gave my skin a weird texture.
I would reuse in a pinch, since I had no real problems, but I'm moving on to something else.
I'm surprised by all the negative reviews of this product because it is absolutely my HG! This leaves me with NO dry patches after I cleanse and/or exfoliate. It hydrates my skin and leaves it SILKY smooth and absorbs SUPER fast. It does not leave me greasy or skicky. It doesn't leave a greasy layer on my skin. It doesn't break me out. It has absolutely no fragrance as well and a little goes quite a way. It's exactly what I need in a moisturizer with my combo 20something skin

This is my first review on Makeup Alley, and I've only come out of my shell to review this product because it is truly amazing.
I'm only 22, but I decided to start early in the anti-aging cream department after seeing smile and brow lines forming on my face. I got this on sale for $17.99 and I liked it primarily because it was fragrance free and because I took the quiz on Oil of Olay's site and it recommended the Total Effects line for me.
This stuff is AMAZING. For one, it truly is fragrance free. It looks super thick, but absorbs lightning fast leaving no greasy residue whatsoever (I have normal combination oily skin). My skin also feels hydrated but not drenched.
It's been about 2 weeks since I've started using it and the results are already visible. Smoother, more even toned, and plumper skin. I don't even see the fine lines anymore when I put on my powder makeup. And the best thing is that it helped fade my post acne scars which is a miracle because they've been there for as long as I can remember.
This is a great product for younger women who are just starting out with preventative creams. I don't see this working well on older women who's primary concern is anti-wrinkle as this is not an anti-wrinkle cream. The only con I can see is that you need quite a bit. I have a small face, and a 1.7oz cream usually lasts me 3-4 months at least. I have a feeling with the amount I'm using I'll run out in about 2 or 3.
In conclusion, GREAT product. Dare I say it will become my HG moisturizer? I will definitely be buying again and looking into other Oil of Olay products as well! continued >>

This is for the regular non UV version not the fragrance free one.
First off, I find all Olay products seem to have a really unpleasant chemical masking fragrance type of odor, not sure if that's just me.
The bottle is very bulky for containing such a small amount of product. I also had a hard time opening all the plastic modern-looking packaging around it which is not exactly earth friendly.
Looking at the reviews, this seems like an ok moisturizer for younger women, but for mature women with aging and dryness issues, this one does not cut it. Although it is not moisturizing enough, it still seems to cause break outs. After a few days and nights of use, my face felt like it had a waxy coating that is very hard to remove. Although they claim it is non comodogenic, I think some of the ingredients do cause blocked pores - dimethicone for one.
Sticking to my Clinique DDML, not HG but it seems to be the best I have found in this price range.
