I bought this product because they ran out of my Touche Eclat shade at Nordstrom's and I needed a concealer. I thought this would work the same, but was sadly disappointed. This didn't work very well for me, and I won't be repurchasing... Back to Nordstrom's!

My best friend gave me 001 since she'd bought the wrong colour at the airport and I was hesitant of this stuff since I've never used a highlighter underneath my eye or anything. However, I gave it a bash and what a massive difference it's made to underneath my eyes. I look so much more bright eyed and bushy-tailed! I tend to have dark circles under my eyes which makes me look tired, but this stuff is amazing! It's one of those products where you don't think it'll do much, but once you see yourself with it on you can't live without it!

This is for Shade #001 (Roseglow).

I can see where a lot of people would be disappointed if they thought of this as a concealer, and were hoping to get the effect of a concealer from Skinflash.

In my opinion, Skinflash is more of an under-eye brightener. I also think that most people apply this a bit more heavily than they really should.

I think Skinflash is ideal for people who don't have heavily dark under-eye circles or bags, and who are just looking for a little bit of brightening help.

I use a very thin coat of this under my eyes, instead of concealer. It doesn't look heavy or thick like concealer often does under my eyes, but just gives a bit of a boost, making me look more awake, young and healthy.
I've also used it on my mother, who also doesn't like to wear much makeup and never wears heavy makeup, and it was lovely on her as well.

I think this is a good product if you know what to expect.

EDIT - it's good to be aware that this can really accentuate under-eye dryness. I've learned I need to skip this if I've got any dryness at all, because it just makes it looks worse. This product almost always looks best when applied very lightly. It also works well as a brow-bone highlighter. continued >>

I was kindly given this by a friend when i was having a zit/spot emergency - she found it didnt work too well for her. I am nw15-20 with dry skin, i used the 002 shade in this - it was a tad lighter than my skin. The clicky-pen like tube was easy to use and the brush was good for getting a smooth application but a few of the bristles of the brush seemed to get caught up in the lid when it was closed leaving a few bristles sticking out at funny angles. A few clicks of the pen & a modest amount of product was delivered to the brush - this is good as it prevents too much product from going onto the skin. I found it to be smooth & very pigmented but not very thick - granted i was using this to cover a blemish (some feel it is a highlighter - but the SA told my friend it was also meant to be used as a concealer) it covered any redness very well but clumped up over the actual spot/zit. Like other reviewers have said it is a little watery in coverage - but i think that looks better than a huge blob of concealer. I used a little under my eyes out of curiosity and it did make them look brighter from a distance but up close they looked a little strange - it seemed to be a bit too sparkly to look natural. The fragrance! - this doesnt bother me at all but it does smell like Talc/Nivea products. All in all an average product with its merits but at 32euros (Ireland) its so expensive i dont really feel its worth the money. continued >>

first of all this is a highlighter not a concealer. it has nice texture, doesn't set into fine lines. is very similar to touche eclat[ysl], which in my opinion is much superior.

I purchased this in colour 002, because I am fair skinned. I generally use it for concealing purposes, especially under my eyes and for small pimples or for redness around my nose. I will also use it over top of my foundation for extra coverage and find that this works very well. It never gets cakey like some concealers do, and it's probably because it's not really a concealer per se. It does much more than that. I don't really have any lines at this point, (well, laughlines when I smile or laugh LOL) but I do like it around my eyes to brighten me up when I am tired, and for highlighting purposes. It's expensive, but I've found that it has lasted a long time. It comes in a handy pen-length applicator, (Great for your purse) with a slim paintbrush style applicator at the end. It gently glides on, and you can then use the brush to blend, or your finger, whichever you prefer. It does have a bit of a fragrance to it, which I like, but if you are sensitive to scents you may want to limit the use of this one around your eyes.

Final verdict: Great product!!!
Recommend: Definately!!

This product gave me very light coverage. Luckily I have fairly light circles under my eyes and not a lot of really visible blemishes...

I wanted to like this due to the ease of usage. However, after using this stuff a HANDFUL of times, I can't seem to get anymore out of the pen!! I think the R & D people at Christian Dior need to seriously work on the dispensing action of this pen. I am upset that I wasted my money. I will be searching for another concealer...ugh.

Before I bought Skinflash I tried similar products from Ysl, Lancome, Loreal and this one looked most natural on skin, Lancome was to orange and Ysl, Loreal had too dry and unnatural finish. I was suprised b/c Ysl TE gets very good reviews, but I've seen a few women wearing it and it looks terrible, TE only looks good in photos, but in real life it sucks. Anyway, I got Skinflash in 002 and the color matches my skin tone perfectly. The application is very easy, just twist end a couple of times, brush it on skin and pat in, it leaves a velvet matte finish. I find the coverage is quite adequate, enough to cover dark shadows around eyes and hide redness/small capillaries around my nose. I doubt it alone can cover really dark circles, but from what I understand, it must be used over a standard concealer (like Dior Sculpt Concealer) to to so. I dislike 2 things about it: 1) Skinflash is perfumed! Why would somebody put perfume in a product that is supposed to be used near eyes, is beyond me, but Dior does that to all eye creams so why would an iluminator be any exeption. The perfume in it sometimes makes my eyes water. 2) It doesn't last all day. It's still there after 8-10 hours, but only ~30%. Annoying. Other than that, it is one of the best iluminators and I will buy it again if I can't find something better (the only likely candidate is La Prairie's produt).
Edit: After 2 years I haven't yet found anything better than Skinflash. Best highlighter there is! Even the exxy La Prairie, Chanel, Guerlain suck compared to this one, one of the best Dior products!

I wanted to branch out from YSL so I gave this a shot. I don't have major dark circles and mainly use concealer to even out fine lines and highlight a bit. Skinflash does neither. I can use touche éclat as a concealer but Skinflash- no way. For me, Skinflash is simply a second rate touche éclat. The texture is watery, so color match is not even a big deal because the pigment is so low. I can't tell any difference between wearing this and not wearing this, whereas YSL wakes me up instantly. And yes I understand that this is not meant to be highly pigmented, but again- this has less pigment than similar products in other lines, like LM and YSL. I sadly will not buy again and will go gladly back to YSL. I wish I could say I would just use this around my fine lines, but Skinflash again does nothing. This is my first major dissapointment from Dior and my first major MU dissapointment since trolling the boards. I thought I knew better!
Wish I could have written a more positive reivew for my 200th but oh well.
