Love this! It is a rosy, plummy, sheer, moisturizing, beautiful lippie on this NW20. I love Paula Dorf's Havana and Clinique's Almost Blush, and this is a very similar color. I like it much better than Sophisto because it does not have the coppery tones.
Another MAC lippie that I LOVE!!! Capricious wears on me as a sheer berry plum stain, just light enough for daytime. My beloved Lustre formulation keeps this color slightly shiny and slick. This is one of those no-fail lipsticks I can see myself carrying around forever.
Nice plummy red color that will look great on a night on the town. I don't reach for it very often for work b/c I think it is a bit over the top. But for night outs, I think it will be great. I like to top it w/ YSL Touche Brilliant in #9. Fabulous!!!!!!!!!

This color is the more beautiful color that I see in MAC lipsticks. I went one day to the store and after I tried many lipsticks I decided to buy this. Is a very beautiful mauve-plum, I dont know how describe it. Look very beautiful in my lips and the lustre formula make this lipstick perfect. Just try it and I am sure that you will love it. Is the more beautiful!!!!!!!
Capricious is a pinkish plum in lustre formula. I wouldn't have gotten it had I known it was so similar to other colors I already own (it looks exactly like MAC Captive + balm,) but nevertheless, it is a pretty color and fairly versatile. It's moisturizing but doesn't last long, as is usually the case with lustres.
My holy grail lipstick. I use this everyday religiously. A perfect shade of berry rose, which compliments my NC42 skin. Honestly, it is the prefect colour. I usually top it off with a shade of lipglass though. BAH!. 'Nuff said XD
If you already have MAC Plumful lipstick, you'll probably want to pass on this one. But if you don't have Plumful and you're seeking a slightly toned down and warmer, but still vibrant plumy color - Capricious is the way to go. The Lustre formula feels light and moisturizing on the lips. The color can be sheered down or stained for a natural look or layered for a more intense color. Staying powers is pretty decent too. And like all MAC lipsticks. I love the vanilla-y scent. I swear, I can't use any lipsticks but MAC's! If I ever run out of this and Plumful, I would probably repurchase one or the other.
Capricious was my one hit from the Holiday 2005 Magenta lip palette -- a pretty muted plum, slightly dramatic but not too bright or dark. If you like Sophisto, I highly recommend Capricious.

On my lips, Capricious actually looks quite red--but it's a very wearable shade of red. It doesn't dry out my lips (the amplified and lustre formulas are very moisturizing), and the color is sheer enough that absolute precise application isn't needed). The one down side that that lustre formulas do not last as long....they will need to be re-applied every few hours. Still, I got this as a back-2-mac, and I'll consider getting the same color again next time.
I find this to be very, very similar to Plumful when applied, although on the back of my hand I can see the difference (Capricious is a little warmer in tone). On my pale lips (C2, PPP, blonde hair blue eyes) this is quite an intense shade but wears off evenly and fairly quickly due to its light lustre formula. It’s a little too dark for an everyday colour for me but is nevertheless a nice shade.
