Firstly you should know that I have very pale, oily, and acne prone skin.
Even though I have cool toned skin I've tried W1, N1, C1:
-C1 is both too dark and too pink
-N1 is too dark
-W1 is pale enough but too way to warm for my skin
Its a good medium coverage foundation for most skin types. I used it off and on for years before recently buying Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in Ivory (which is a perfect match for my skin!) I have oily skin that only gets oilier in the summer. During summer this foundation cakes up, oxidizes, separates, and just looks awful. During the other seasons its good. I have to re-powder 3 times on average and none of the lightest shades are right for me.
I have a pale face, and I've always had trouble finding a foundation that didn't look orange on my face. I've tried the expensive brands such as MAC and clinique, and the drug store brands- such as maybelline and covergirl, etc. I keep coming back to this foundation because it matches my skin tone PERFECTLY, has a lightweight texture, (not heavy or greasy or thick) & is also SPF 17 as a bonus. One compact lasts me a little over a month, I do wish it was a couple dollars cheaper but for such quality makeup the pricing is not bad. It's oil free, which is another bonus, especially if you are prone to breaking out. It's just a matter of finding the right shade that matches your skin tone. If you have super pale skin on your face like me, W1 Porcelain (warm) is the lightest foundation I've ever used! LOVE this stuff and I hope and pray they never stop making it.
The color suits me well and is easy to blend. It is very light-weight and my skin still feels fresh not heavy after putting more than one coat it on. Does not control oil.
I love this product! My skin has cleared up so much since using it. I do however get occasional shine at the end of the day
Okay, this is going to sound crazy....but I was willing to try True Match... because of Jennifer Lopez commercial on this....and how she looked... I have never bought anything because of a celeb. but her skin looked flawless. I am older 63 in fact, and I do not wear a foundation usually... I have good skin... no blemishes....normal to dry skin.... and believe it or not...hardly a wrinkle.... I use moisturizer since I've been 16 years old... swear by it.... Okay, getting back to this review... I chose the color, "True Beige"....because it looked like it would be my match, I was right... I didn't have to use to much and it went on beautifully and looks so natural..not heavy and I don't even feel like I have a foundation on. It cost me $8.00 in Walgreens and it is the best money I have spent in a long time!
The previous reviewer, Rosse3865, has given an excellent, and imo, spot-on true review of this wonderful foundation. I had purchased this 8 or so months ago and tried it once or twice then it got lost in my sea of make up. I didn't give it much thought after that but found it in my drawer a month ago and started using it again. I'm not sure what changed or prompted me to try this again but I'm thrilled I did. I can't get over the natural, beautiful, luminous, airbrushed, natural, perfect, long-lasting, natural, aaahmazing, did I say natural?, finish this gives to my skin! It's so versitle, too. I would say it's medium coverage easily built up to full coverage. I typically use the Sigma F80 (or any good foundation brush) to apply and when I want a sheer coverage I just use my damp beauty blender. I'd also say the finish is the perfect balance between matte and luminous but in no way shiny or greasy looking, but not mask-like either. I could fill a bathtub with all of the foundtions I own and have tested in every price range and true match has eclipsed all of them. I've also tried the true match Lumi, and while it's nice, it doesn't compare to the original. For reference, I have mature, combo/dry skin with uneven tone and melasma on my cheeks and neck. This foundation covers everything beautifully and looks completely natural. As much as I'd love it to have a pump it doesn't deter me in the least. I'm NW-25/30 and the shade N4 is my exact match. Fortunately my skin doesn't have bumps or dry patches at the moment so I can't attest to how well it would perform over less than smooth skin, but If you can find your ideal shade I think it's absolutely worth a try. I went to get another one yesterday and found it on sale this week at Walgreens for $8, and there's always a $2 l'oreal coupon to be found. If not, ask the SA at the Walgreens beauty counter. You'd be amazed at the goodies, samples, coupons, and testers most of them keep behind the register just for the asking. This fast became my HG foundation and I'm hard pressed to go back to any others...except my beloved Kat von D lock-it, which I mix (a 1/4 pump) with the true match on special evening dates with my DH when I want my skin to positively glow a radiate with super longlasting natural looking coverage. If you're in the market for a new foundation run, don't walk, and go get this!!
I really love the whole True Match line from L'Oreal. I have all the blushes, powders, the compact makeup, and I ended up buying the liquid because I loved the compact makeup so much. I am very surprised by some of the negative reviews, but I think everyones skin is different and reacts different to certain products. I find that this foundation makes my skin so radiant, luminous and beautiful it is definitely my favorite foundation I have right now. I have tried many foundations and they usually tend to leave me looking cakey or too done. I don't like to look like I have a mask on or layer of makeup, and so many others I've tried have this effect on my skin (even tinted moisturizers) for some reason, and I've tried a lot of higher end foundations too that ended up not being used and were a huge waste of money i.e. Estee Lauder, Clinique, Clarins, Merle Norman, Mac. This is why I love this foundation, it blends and simply makes you look like you have radiant skin! Also,it is very easy to blend-even with fingers, gives just the right amount of coverage, and has great staying power. I would recommend if you buy this foundation, get it somewhere where if you need to return it you can- like Ulta or stores that accept returns for opened products. I made the mistake of buying True Match at a local grocery store and wanted to return it because it was the wrong shade, but they wouldn't accept it back because I already used it.
I absolutely LOVE this foundation. Not many DS foundations hold up to their claims, but this one did it for me. It doesnt make me look cakey, it blends well with my Sigma F80, or my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. A little goes a very long way also. As for the packaging, I actually put one of my MAC pumps on it, LOL. Where there is a will, there is most definitely a way !! You have to make it work and I did exactly that after having to tip over/pour the bottle so many times. The foundation gives me a flawless face, and W6/W7 worked wonders for my skin tone.
I have this in the shade C2, it's called rose ivory and it's a very good match for my very pale skin tone however the foundation is of poor quality.
*It gives me extremely light coverage and doesn't cover my red patches yet if I try to build it up, it looks very cakey.
*I use my Real Techniques expert face brush to buff it into my skin but it looks streaky and unblendable.
*It's the only foundation that looks bad when I use my RT brush.
*It's quite pricey for what you get.
*Even if I moisturize, it sticks to every little dry patch or blemish.
Overall, a terrible foundation that does the opposite of what it's meant to do! The only positive is that it comes in fantastic shades. Not recommended.
This product is an ok product. The bottle is quite small considering its almost $10 where I live, but I guess that's because a little goes a long way with this product if you don't need full coverage. It's definitely a light coverage foundation. The consistency is very liquidy and easily blend able. Feels quite light on the skin. It was a little bit drying on my skin so I'd say its better for people with oily skin who don't need the full coverage foundations. Looked alright without setting it. Wasn't completely matte but just gave a nice natural finish. Also there are tons of color choices. If you can I'd try some on your skin before purchasing because I required a few shades darker color for my quite pale skin. The one thing I did not like about thus product is that it made my skin feel a bit itchy after applying and I think it was the cause of a small breakout on my skin. So I wouldn't suggest it for sensitive skin types!
